Reginald Primus MGT 415 Week 3 Assignment Fabio Moro 03/31/2014 To build group cohesiveness and motivate your employees the best way is to let them know that you believe n them and will work with them. Group cohesion is the force which causes members to remain in the group, which also has members within a group that are attracted to the ideas held by the group. It is important for all employees to share a common goal in the work environment, namely, to complete tasks that will benefit the company or organizational group. Promoting interdependency among the coworkers is to have employees work toward a common goal. The task will ultimately come together, if each team member does their part. For employees to arrive prepared and willing to conquer the task of the day, a cohesive work environment must increase the likelihood of employee satisfaction and serve as an incentive for employees. Unnecessary stress and tension among coworkers is certain to result in lack of cohesion within a working environment. As might be expected, work suffers when employees do not get along together. Thus, cohesion could be the rise or demise of an organization or company’s success in the work place. Wegmans food market which is ranked number 5 on the list is a family owned grocery chain where family health is very important. Wegmans is proud to say with more than 2,000 workers that all of its employees have enrolled in a free smoking cessation program since 2009. Wegmans has also started a 24/7 health hotline. In Wegmans mission statement the company want to make sure that the planet is safe for our future kids and grandchildren, so Wegmans take steps by as a company learning new ways to reduce, reuse and recycle our resources and the missi... ... middle of paper ... ...e the best company to work for is because it has company sabbaticals, onsite child care, health care coverage, onsite fitness center, subsidized gym membership, compressed workweek, telecommuting, and diversity, nondiscrimination policy that includes sexual orientation, and offers domestic partner benefits for same sex couples. In conclusion, to motivate your employees and build group cohesiveness you have to make work life more about them as a team and what they can accomplish as a team and have firsthand knowledge that you believe in them.
