“Paperboy to Software Analyst at Intergraph”: the aphoristic assertion of my life as of today. In the pursuit of this minuscule journey, I confronted with ample fascinating experiences. The best one was having a substantial association with my best intimate “failure”. Professionally and personally failures played a substantial role in my life. The decision to pursue masters is not serendipitous. Extensive research on the U.S. Universities, pertaining to masters in computer sciences, over the period for more than two years, inevitably resulted in electing the University of Massachusetts, Amherst for its uniqueness in research and quality in the curriculum of computer science. Consequently, I did become proficient in computer software programming and the one of the most sought out student in computer science department. Besides securing award as one of the best students in India in life and soft skills with A+ certification from Infosys, one of the leading software giants in India that conducts soft and life skills classes in our college. Additionally, procuring merit certifications in Paper Presentations and prizes in project expos’ from reputed colleges in India made me ecstatic. Considering the certifications and programming skills a few top notch companies offered me internships but took the road that is less travelled and rejected the offers. I have a great, high-paying job, and beautiful wife and family, and a nice sports car parked in front of my lovely house. When I look into the future, I see myself being successful and happy. Before transferring to UCLA, my goal was to attend law school and work in public policy or become a private lawyer. However, coming to UCLA greatly affected my GPA and opened me to new cultures and experiences. After graduation from KOREA University, I decided to enter Hyndai MotorCompany(HMC), which is the largest Korean car manufacturer and global player, to pursue a career as an international businessman. In January 1991, I joined Domestic Finance Team of HMC. My specific assignment was to plan monthly and annual financial schedules for HMC's domestic funding needs. About two years later, in January of 1993, I was transferred to Retail Finance Team from Domestic Finance Team and responsible for financing by the sales and factoring of Car Receivables.
I am a passionate and influential Science and Math educator, who has been motivating and inspiring the learners for last twelve years locally and internationally. Born and raised in a family in Nepal, which values education highly, I learned the importance of education in my early age. Afterwards, I choose to teach over pursuing my career in the research field in Chemistry after completing Master’s degree in Chemistry seeing the need of effective educators in this field. Once, I had gradated I did not know which direction in the sciences I wanted to pursue, although I did know I wanted to do research. During my childhood, I grew up in an environment where my father and mother got lot of respect because they were well educated. They were among the very few who had studied in one of the highly reputed colleges in our country. This inspired me a lot and from then I came to know how much education was important in one’s life. During my secondary school days, I was the best student in Mathematics and Biology and as the senior girl (Head-girl). After completing my secondary school education in 2004, I got a job offer from the same school I graduated from, to teach Maths and Sciences. I was a very active full-time teacher in this school for four years; I participated in different extra-curricular activities such as leading the Jet club, inter-house sports and preparing students for competitions. In addition, I counselled and gave extra help to a lot of students struggling with their academies. This had a lot of immediate and long-term positive impact on many of the students.

During my high school career I participated in a variety of clubs, bands and volunteer work. Having a serious interest in music and art, I pursued related activities that pushed my limits and boundaries that made a more imaginative thinker. As a musician I performed with and organized several bands both in and out of the school environment. At school, I participated in concert band and jazz ensemble, however I felt that these settings were not challenging enough so during my sophomore year I auditioned for the Select Jazz Ensemble, which was a group that would compete against other schools within the Cavalcade of Bands circuit.
