I am a passionate and influential Science and Math educator, who has been motivating and inspiring the learners for last twelve years locally and internationally. Born and raised in a family in Nepal, which values education highly, I learned the importance of education in my early age. Afterwards, I choose to teach over pursuing my career in the research field in Chemistry after completing Master’s degree in Chemistry seeing the need of effective educators in this field. Since then I have been consistently trying to make the learning of Science and Math tempting and interesting using project-based, game-based, hands-on activities and tech-integration learning activities. My nature of connecting learning Science and Math in the classroom with daily life activities helped me to stand as a distinguished student. Before I came to Egypt for my first international teaching job in 2016, I used to tutor students in Nepal from British IGCSE and GCE A-level, IB, Nepali National Board, and Indian CBSE board system. As a result, I was able to cream off the best practices from different systems in my teaching. I wanted to teach overseas in International schools. As a matter of fact, I learned that I need a teaching credential to be eligible to put my footstep international teaching arena. Therefore, I enrolled in a teacher preparation program offered by Teach Now, Washington DC and earned Secondary Chemistry Teacher Credential from District of Columbia. I am proud of my performance that made of eligible for ETS Recognition of Excellence Award for individual outstanding performance in Chemistry Content Praxis

(1) Why would you like to participate in the Summer Graduate School Preparation Course? I will graduate this June with as a communication studies major and a Labor and workplace studies minor. Before transferring to UCLA, my goal was to attend law school and work in public policy or become a private lawyer. However, coming to UCLA greatly affected my GPA and opened me to new cultures and experiences. I realize now that law school is not for me and have spent my senior year exploring different career options.
William Lawrence Bragg, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in Physics in 1915 stated that, “The important thing in science is not so much to obtain new facts as to discover new ways of thinking about them,” and Kaufman elementary 2nd grade science teachers put Bragg statement into action. The 2nd grade students at Kaufman are challenged through hands on actives to discover, learn, and create. The students work in groups to develop 21st century skills that not only allow them to grasp the science topics being taught in 2nd grade, but will allow them to be critical thinkers that lead the way in the future. The 2nd grade teaching team at Kaufman really knows have to set the bar high in developing and carrying out science lesson that get the students activity involved in their own learning.
As I became older, my bold affinity towards science dwindled, but never fully dissolved. I was always ready to get to that year’s class, whether it was the Biology class with the story-centric coach or Physics with a teacher with the mind of a genius (however, him staying in this small hole in the ground is beyond me, as he’d be much better off discovering things rather than attempt to teach rowdy, unruly sixteen to seventeen-year-olds
The process of choosing a school is an exciting time, as you consider where and how you want to live. As I’ve gone through this process, one of the challenging aspects has been determining what areas I am most likely to study and perhaps pursue as a career. Throughout my school years, I have always strived not only to succeed in all classes, but also to obtain knowledge in a variety of areas. I have enjoyed learning Spanish, debating U.S History, reading and evaluating literature. However, over the past year, as I’ve considered my future education, it has become clear I am most interested in focused academic study in areas of sciences and engineering, with particular interest in practical application of these studies—which I believe makes Worcester Polytechnical Institute a perfect place for me.
After graduation from KOREA University, I decided to enter Hyndai MotorCompany(HMC), which is the largest Korean car manufacturer and global player, to pursue a career as an international businessman. In January 1991, I joined Domestic Finance Team of HMC. My specific assignment was to plan monthly and annual financial schedules for HMC's domestic funding needs. About two years later, in January of 1993, I was transferred to Retail Finance Team from Domestic Finance Team and responsible for financing by the sales and factoring of Car Receivables.
When teaching science there are certain principles we must put into consideration. Taking into consideration the principle “Children live for the present moment”. As teachers more times than we can remember when we introduce our pupils to a topic, we often see thrill and excitement in their faces. Often we wonder why, but as we would have learned, children live for the present moment. Their minds and imaginations are pure, they have no memory of the events/activities that are occurring around them and they are anxious to gain/obtain new knowledge. These are the experiences that they as children will have with them for a lifetime. So we as teachers needs to do the best we can to also try to live for the present moment with our pupils.

To many, residence is the most convenient option for accommodation. However, to me, it is more than just that. Rather, it is a great blessing and privilege, for with residence, one gets to become part of an entirely different aspect of college. I have been very active with several societies and my academic performance showcases that I am a hard worker who is focused on pursuing excellence and distinction in whatever I decide to commit to. I am also a firm believer in the need for fulfilling commitments to the best of my abilities.
In my first undergraduate year, I did not live my life. I existed. I was lost in the class and completely in crisis for boring general subjects of International Economic Relations. My performance was poor with no impressive grades and no social activities. I kept wondering: Is it my passion to live?
