Having a minor in business and having health administration as my major, I have learned to appreciate the business classes’, especially the ones that focuses on technology. I feel my course work in MIS 3530 has allowed me to develop in serval core competencies. Over the 16 weeks, I have been able to learn more about computer systems, html, CSS, and coding videos. I have always loved computers, and for the most part I yearned to learn more about them as whole. I have never been great at coding, html, or cascading style sheet, and thus is why I decided to take the course. One of the main course content that I enjoyed the most, was learning cascading style sheet. I learned from the course not only the the history of CSS style sheets, but the basic steps on how to use CSS. CSS allows for better control of web pages during development, and allows you to have full control over a variety of aspects for a website. This …show more content…
Yet, CSS is very useful in many scenarios, more and more healthcare delivery systems are converting to computers, ranging from client information, to keep track of finances. Perhaps I might work at a big hospital, I may start my career working for a small healthcare institution, where somethings, including dealing with the company’s website could be a daily task. Having CSS background could allow me to make changes on my own, cut downtime of website, and also save money from calling in a computer technician. Also with the hopes of taking what I learned from the course, I would like to take more course for CSS which could be a plus on my resume. Aside from CSS, I learned a good deal from taking this course. I never realized how important coding is, and how one misplaced symbol, letter, or missing close tag could affect the whole website. Coding in lament terms is essentially telling a computer what you want it to do, and it
The chart depicted below shows the scope and sequence plan for a 200-hour Information and Software Technology (IST) course. The expected outcomes are listed as numerical identifiers of stage 5 outcomes taken from the Information and Software Technology Years 7–10: Syllabus (2003, p. 12-13) document. For example, outcome 5.2.1 in term1 of year 9 points to “describes and applies problem-solving processes when creating solutions” of stage 5 outcomes (Information and Software Technology Years 7–10: Syllabus, 2003).
With college right around the corner and taking a college course gave a real sense of how college classes are going to work giving me an edge over all of the other students going to college that didn’t take a dual enrollment course. Dual enrollment was honestly one of the best decisions I made in my academic career because like what I was saying this class taught me the inner workings of how most assignment are going to be turned in, what it means to be self-reliant/ on your own have no help with assignment from your parents, experiencing a course that only a handful of assignment rather than a ton of assignment ends up making up over eighty percent of your grade (getting you to work extra hard so you won’t fail) and finally that you have to actually interact with the professor/teacher if you need help or are having trouble with an

This class showed me how to have a good appearance in the way that I dress, how to have a formal and a proper way to dress for every occasion, when I started I didn't even know how to tie a Tie a Tie, or to keep the line of my pants and shirts vertical and straight, and keep my shoes clean, but now I know that.
“Constant efforts, dedication, devotion and determination are the key to success” This principle I have followed in my career. Setting goals and striving hard to accomplish them has always been my strength in professional as well as personal life. I have always been amazed by computers, code –programs and was keen to understand the underlying meaning, gimmick, structure and pattern of how programs actually work. Learning about simple Foxpro programs, excel sheet formulae, C programs at an early age heightened my interest in computer programs. This childhood interest urged me to do a diploma in information technology and later bachelor’s degree in the same area. Having completed six years course in Information Technology, and two years of experience in IT. I stand by the principal “Stay Hungry” and this has helped me in achieving my goals. Standing by this I would like to explore ahead and pursue MS in MIS. I would like emerge to put to use this knowledge to pursue MS program in MIS.
We started with basic concepts about Internet connection; we also talk about how all this new technology expands through the world. And I say ‘surprisingly’ because I’m one of those people who don’t really care about technology or computer system. Actually I feel lost when people talk about software and programs. After a couple weeks we started working on the computer lab, where I learn how to create a Web site. I was amazing of how computer system works. Every day, the professor came with more information and more work to do. This is how I start thinking in a possible change for my career. I never thought this course would change my mind about what I want to do in
I learned more than just ten new things in this class, I also gained new insight about things that I already knew and now feel that I have a much greater understanding of how civilizations build upon each other. The realization that many of the things in our own civilization were passed down from civilizations that existed thousands of years ago was amazing and surprising and has made me view things in a whole new way.
This course has provided me with useful ideas that were practical that I have used in my everyday life. For example, it helped to think critically before reacting to a decision that involved problem-solving and solution - oriented. I am more a fair-minded person and learned that every person is in control of his or her life. Thus, knowing how to use critical thinking as a writer, would help me to become a writer.
I liked how you were able to change the status indicator of how well you knew the material on each question, that made it easier to score point and not lose as many when you got it wrong. I also liked that after getting five consecutive questions in a row right that it started giving you bonus points for it. Also if you got five wrong in a row that it would tell you to take a break and come back later after a certain amount of time so you could gather your thoughts a bit. All of the PowerPoints and mini games and quizzes located throughout each module really helped me and definitely broadened my understanding of everything throughout the semester. What lessons that I will take with me is that everything has a bigger meaning in the world. There is more that goes into society than we know and it makes me want to think deeper about how it all works. Each person and group plays a role in society and there are so many aspects about each one that it is never the same, which is insane. After this course I will be able to analyze patterns of social relationships, social interaction, and culture better, which I think is important especially when you are an active member of society and just in
Likewise, my purpose of taking this class, is to obtain lifelong learning skills, that I can use in my advantage. I was always told, in business you never stop learning, I think this perosnal growth course can help me
What do you expect to learn from this course that will help you develop in the areas you’ve identified?
This course has helped me in many ways, especially time management, health, and money. Instead of having a very relaxing week and then panicking at the end of the week when everything is due, this course has helped me to plan out my studies. Planning them out helps me produce higher quality work and assists me with my stress problem. One thing that has helped a lot is getting short easy assignments or parts of assignments done in short periods of extra time I have. For example, instead of turning on that TV, wait ten minutes and knock out an assignment. Another asset for myself has been setting dates to have assignments done. Although these assignments may not be due on that day, getting them done and out of the way, makes more time for other
