This class showed me how to have a good appearance in the way that I dress, how to have a formal and a proper way to dress for every occasion, when I started I didn't even know how to tie a Tie a Tie, or to keep the line of my pants and shirts vertical and straight, and keep my shoes clean, but now I know that. Since I came to that class I had discipline but they make it shine more, for example, If I receive an order I need to complete that order without asking why or complaining because an order is an order and it should be completed. They also made me to speak in front of the class. …show more content…
In conclusion, JROTC is a great program where you can learn while having fun, I learned how to have good appearance, better discipline, and I add more knowledge of the US AF, in this program I had a fun year where I also learn more things not only three. I recommend it, I did this paper short because when I did other paper and I wrote a lot I got a bad grade on it because it was too long, and probably i will have a bad grade on this too because is too
I want to be a JAG Officer because of the variety of work it provides. I have demonstrated interests in criminal law, international law, and national security law. My interest in criminal law started as a child in front of the television and I continued to engage this interest by studying criminal justice and honing my investigatory at the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia. My interests in international and national security law began in college where I studied and wrote about topics such as Just War Theory and terrorism and have continued in law school where I am the Director of Events for my institutions National Security Law Association. A career in the JAG Corps will allow me to pursue those interests while my ability
The NJROTC, or Naval Junior Recruit Officer Training Corpse, is built not only to teach high school students about the navy but also allows student to become our great leaders of the future. In NJROTC cadets are asked to live up to very high standards because those students in NJROTC are thought of as the best of the best and are at that school to represent the military way of life. In this program I have learned three traits that will help me better myself not only in the future but in the day I live today. These traits that I speak of are discipline, punctuality, and respect. If not for NJROTC I would have not been as great a person and would have little or no direction in my life.
For many officer cadets at RMC the First Year Orientation Programme (FYOP), is often the greatest challenge they will face both in their lives at the college and in their military careers in general. For First Years, the challenge comes from having to function in a stressful environment marked by daily inspections, demanding physical activity, frequent punishments, and limited time to connect with loved ones through either phone calls or email. Meanwhile, for the third and fourth years in charge of them, the challenge comes from making sure that their assigned ‘flights’, which range in size from eighteen to twenty individuals, successfully learn, often through the use of strict discipline, the skills they will need to effectively integrate
I was cadet midway but I got news within the 3rd Quarter he told me I would be the Battalion SGM for the rest of the remaining school year. Also, there was one Formation that will that I would have in my memory which was when I saved a cadet during the Formation. Because I showed how to be humble and became an example that no cadet would be left alone or feel bad about their errors. I realize that Jrotc is about help others when in need to help correct their errors so they won’t happened again. So when I became a Let 4 has to be the best year ever cause I was finally a Let 4 . My Let 4 was very good because I was a high Rank and had my picture on the board but what I loved the most was when I got promoted to be the Bravo Company commander. Being the Commander was an Honor because I had reach my goal in Jrotc to be a Commander any company and I hope I left a good impression for my Let 1,2,3. Jrotc isn’t a class is a family program where we all unite to become better citizen. I love Jrotc and I’m very proud that I had it for my whole 4 years in high school. I never forget my Instructors SGM Cooper & LTC Roger because they have help me a lot to grow up and I will always cherish them in my
Jrotc has given me a glimpse of what to expect at Academy Summer Seminar. Joining Jrotc was one of the best decisions I had made in high school and was a pivotal point in my life. From that one choice, I was able to discover many opportunities that may have
The biggest lesson I learn during this class is time management. I have a 9 month old baby and he allows wants my attention. I had to rely on a family member to take care of him while I get a few hours to read the textbook and do the writing assignments. I had to truly focus on my work and not go to social sites because I barely had time to do so.
People often say “Don't be afraid to change because although you may lose something good you may gain something much better.” This particular quote is what many people live by, this quote is what the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program lives by. The program initially started in the the year of 1916 which was the year that the National Defense Act was signed and enforced, it was later expanded in the year of 1964 with the signing of the ROTC Vitalization Act.
Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps, also known as JROTC, is a government program supported by the United States Armed Forces in high schools and in some middle schools. JROTC makes the students of high school and middle school understand the advantages of citizenship. In addition, it prepares high school understudies for responsible leadership roles. The mission of JROTC is “To Motivate Young People to be Better Citizens”. A few of the outcomes are capable cadets who are certain of themselves, can think all alone, and can express their thoughts and sentiments unmistakably and briefly. JROTC can prepare students for post-high school success.
I left this course with the skills I can take advantage of in the future. Mrs.Cohen had been to college, therefore, she was able to give tips and tricks on how to survive college. If anyone had a concern, she would give them advice to help them. She offered her time after class to anyone who would want to sit down with her and chat about future plans so she could guide them. Mrs.Cohen made me feel she actually cared about each and every one of us. Classmates and I were all provided with college and scholarship information and anything needed to succeed in applying for college. She was willing to lend an ear to any complaints made. She is a large reason to why this class impacted me a great deal. She openly embraced and expressed her true self without being ashamed of it and I loved it. It felt as she could relate and understand the
The very first thing I found during my time with this course is that I often struggle with self-awareness. I must actively seek feedback from my subordinates, peers, and leaders. This will ensure that I am not languishing under a false sense of how I am perceived. It will give me a better picture of who I am as a person and a leader. I will be more open to the feedback given and use it as an opportunity to learn and grow. Understanding that need for growth both professionally and personally will be important for my career, as well as the career of my “Airmen”. Furthermore displaying the will and desire to change, will impact my effectiveness and its effect on not only my subordinates, but my peers and leaders as well. Seeking feedback will not be enough. It will be my ability to learn and use that feedback to improve as a leader, peer, and subordinate. Ultimately, I wouldn’t expect my subordinate, peers, or leaders to accept my feedback unless I have shown I am capable of doing the same. Leadership by example at all levels is the key!
With college right around the corner and taking a college course gave a real sense of how college classes are going to work giving me an edge over all of the other students going to college that didn’t take a dual enrollment course. Dual enrollment was honestly one of the best decisions I made in my academic career because like what I was saying this class taught me the inner workings of how most assignment are going to be turned in, what it means to be self-reliant/ on your own have no help with assignment from your parents, experiencing a course that only a handful of assignment rather than a ton of assignment ends up making up over eighty percent of your grade (getting you to work extra hard so you won’t fail) and finally that you have to actually interact with the professor/teacher if you need help or are having trouble with an
Over the course of this class I have pieced together many things about my own life that before went unnoticed. I am now able to see things in a bit of a different light. Now that I have been introduced to the realm of psychology I understand some of the reasons for behavior around me. I have learned that there is a reason for most everything and a lot of our behaviors and mental processes can be explained through psychology. Studies have been conducted for many years to try and pinpoint the source of our behavior and it is not something that most people think about every day. Having a better understanding of why we operate the way we do will help me to better understand myself and the others around me.
Many students have much to decide when choosing post-secondary institutions. The cost of Royal Military School is much lower than regular universities .RMC core curriculum offers equivalent classes. Unlike regular universities, RMC guarantees work placement after the degree is completed. RMC is a better option for most students than a regular university.
Taking this class this semester has really changed the way that I have viewed myself when it has come to work and the different companies that I have worked before. I have taken a psychology class before but I have never taken one that relates to management and organizations. This class has really helped me answer different questions such as why I was unhappy at some jobs, enjoyed some managers over others, and what motivated me to work hard at jobs. It’s good to learn that there are different terms and definitions for different feeling and things I experienced at jobs to know that their other people experiencing these things also. I will be going into a management position after I graduate, and this class helped me to learn many different ways to go about managing and things to avoid to keep a positive working environment.
Discipline plays a key part in education. Respect from your students will make the classroom a better atmosphere. Rules should be established on the first day. Rules should be a thoughtful process so they can be carried out to be affective, but logical consequences. We do not want the students self esteem to be damaged.
