Unless you live under a rock, you probably know what a fidget spinner is. The pure mention of a fidget spinner makes some overcome with nostalgia, and others shudder in dread of the era when fidget spinners had a chokehold on the world. So, recently, schools have been banishing fidget spinners from campus grounds. Schools banning fidget spinners is a perfectly fair and justifiable decision because they can be distracting, start fights, and potentially injure students. To begin with, fidget spinners can distract students and interfere with learning. This is evident because the passage articulates, “And fidget spinners may not be loud, but they can disrupt classrooms in other ways.” and “They become more of an attention-grabber than a helpful tool.” These “other ways,” as stated, include but are not limited to tossing them, …show more content…
Another reason why banning fidget spinners is sensible is that they can spark fights. This statement is reasonable because the passage says, “Because they’re so easy to get, many kids have several spinners that they can trade and sell at school–which can lead to nasty fights over the toys.” Although this spinner “black market” is a problem in itself, students can also start serious fights that may lead to injuries over a piece of plastic, which shouldn’t be permitted. Last, but distinctly not least, fidget spinners have the potential to be dangerous and seriously harm an unsuspecting student. This claim is rational because the text indicates, “Worse, fidget spinners can be dangerous”. Some kids have been badly hurt while trying to perform spinner-tossing tricks.” Students being reckless can unintentionally injure themselves with fidget spinners. While accidents do happen, schools should either enforce precautionary safety measures or ban them altogether, because it’s just not worth the
Vending machines should be allowed is because it provides snacks , candy , and drinks . I think vending machines should be allowed in school is because if you are hungry you can go up and by one . Also if you didn’t have breakfast you could get something to eat from there. Last it could help the students in school .
In this day and age where school administrators consider backpacks, lockers, and baggy pants to be potential dangers to students and faculty, what will be next? Perhaps pencils, pens, scissors, and glue will be added to the list of items to ban from schools. These, along with other hazardous educational necessities pose real threats to maintaining an orderly school and should be prohibited.
In the New York Times article “Leave your laptops at the door to my classroom” written by Darren Rosenblum he explains why he prohibits the use of laptops in his college classroom. Rosenblum observed a senior colleague’s class and his class to discover that laptops are blocking the classroom connection between the teacher and student. Rosenblum noticed that laptops reduced a student’s education and it has become a distraction rather than allowing students to critically think and learn challenging and uncomfortable things. He believed there are two skills needed to succeed, listening and communicating, but with students using laptops it killed the connection when it was time to being listening and communicating with care. Therefore, he created
I'm against fidget spinners for lots of reasons there distracting and don't even help you. Most people say its educational thing but i disagree you more like a toys too me. I'm gonna have three main ideas why we shouldn't have fidget spinners or fidget things. I hope you change your mind.
Many schools are voting to remove vending machines, and leave the kids hungry or thirsty between classes and after school. Removing the machines is only One fix to the problem. We need to look at other possible solution that could keep the machines in school, and keep snacks available to hungry children. they could very easily stock these machines with healthier options. There are many reasons why taking these machines out of schools would be a mistake.
First,I believe Fidget spinners should be banned because they are distracting. They also make people around them think that they can just sit around and distract people doing their work. After a good bit of time the teacher will stop class and probably
Fidget Spinners are the new popular kids toy in homes across the nation. All of the kids want fidget spinners. Everyone is having fun spinning these for hours doing tricks and more. Unfortunately, fidget spinners can be terrible too. The toy was originally intended to help kids especially those with attention disorders focus, but it seems to do the opposite. They are disrupting class, and are injuring hundreds of other kids. Kids should not use fidget spinners because they are dangerous, distracting and they are being misused.
Did you know that a lot of people play with fidget spinners? Fidget spinners are the most popular toy ever created because people are in love with these toys. The thing is that fidget spinners are a good focus tool to learn with and should be brought to school because it is good for learning and your skills to learn so you can get more skills. Fidget spinners shouldn’t be banned because the spinners are not a distraction, and they can help other people.
Better Vending Machine Choices Should school vending machines ban sugary snacks and drinks and be replaced with healthy food? Vending Machines should have healthier snacks for students and not be filled with junk food, such as chips, sports drinks, and candy. They should be filled with things like nutrition bars, baked chips and trail mix. School is where most children spend the time.
In “Hooked on ‘Caramel-Colored Gold,” Melody Nelson claims “Despite the increased awareness of the benefits of good nutrition, we are a nation hooked on junk food, and many school administrators are taking advantage of the situation ” (par. 3). Nelson propose a ban on vending machines in schools because junk food is unhealthy for children, and they risk future health problems. I agree with Melody Nelson and believe that vending machines should be banned from school campuses, because they sell unhealthy food, they cause more money to schools for hiring extra custodians, and they are affecting children learning abilities.
Vending machines should be permitted in schools because they can be beneficial for. students who desire a light meal throughout the day. Vending machines are low in cost and are efficient. School lunches or lunches outside the school are more expensive than the food that could be provided in a vending machine. Students are not provided with a great amount of income especially if that income is coming from their parents. When students do not have a packed lunch, or not enough money to buy a school lunch, they are led elsewhere. But students could be led to vending machines whose food choices are on their budget. In addition to this, vending machines can have healthier options than a school’s standard lunch.
Do you like your electronic devices? Do you want to use it at school? Well, you have come to the right place. Buzzzzzzzzzz! Another cellphone is going off in the middle of class, causing her to blush and discreetly check her new text message. A virtual conversation is buzzing back and forth inside one classroom and into the classroom across the hall, having a discussion about the party that night or the lipstick color chosen at the mall. In another classroom, a student posts the answers to the English exams on her profile page, allowing all of her buddies to read and use for their time of the exam. There are multiple examples of students using their cell phones during class time to communicate their thoughts, images of their environment or dangerous crimes. In addition, the percentage of students with cellphones now soars to about 80% (Ban). This highly increases the chance for students to have a cell phones on them during school. Cell phones can also be harmful to students during class, taking them into another world of technology, separated from the classroom, and turning them down a road of decisions they never intended on doing. Overall, cell phones alter classroom learning in a negative way, and should be banned from use in the classroom at all schools.
During my rebellious years in a self-seeking journey, I can remember being obsessed with humanoids after watching Sonny in the movie I, Robot. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is something that I had set my eyes on, directing me to spend a lot of time designing my own robots and believing that one day they will indeed come alive. A chat with a local associate professor from the AI department ignited my interest, making me realise that there is actually a very thin borderline separating fantasy and reality, and it depends on us to turn the fictions into facts. I am fully aware that the computer industry is a male-dominated discipline, and the fact that I am embracing it whole-heartedly can never cease to amaze my friends.
