Imagine this, you're in class, and the teacher is trying to teach you something that you need help with. Just then a kid pops out his fidget spinner and then you just start focusing on him spinning it and doing tricks. When you have a test he pops it back out and distracts you from the test. You also might have other people around you getting distracted, and then the teacher will have to stop class and say get to work. This shows why I believe fidget spinners should not be allowed. First,I believe Fidget spinners should be banned because they are distracting. They also make people around them think that they can just sit around and distract people doing their work. After a good bit of time the teacher will stop class and probably
get on to you which is not a good thing. During these times if you're going to spin your fidget spinner then you need to do it at recess or at home because it’s not just the teacher distracted it’s the students around you. next,I believe they are not just distracting but dangers.principal schwartz said in the article that a kid in australia got a nasty eye injury by a fidget spinner. Fidget spinners are not only dangers by eye injuries but all over the world there are different kinds of injuries.my point is that fidget spinners or fun but dangers. In this day and age where school administrators consider backpacks, lockers, and baggy pants to be potential dangers to students and faculty, what will be next? Perhaps pencils, pens, scissors, and glue will be added to the list of items to ban from schools. These, along with other hazardous educational necessities pose real threats to maintaining an orderly school and should be prohibited.
Because students are distracted by the use of cell phones, schools around the country have made a stand to make sure they are not inhibiting the learning process. But do the bans really make a difference? Students seem to still be sending text messages in class. Legal issues have been questioned concerning the use of cell phones; do instructors or administrators have the rights to confiscate cell phones if used in class? Thomas Diamantes, of Wright State University, says, “In Tinker (Tinker v. Des Moines, 1969), the court established the "material and substantial disruption" test to protect freedom of speech and expression.”
One reason why fidget spinners shouldn’t be banned because a fidget spinner isn’t a distraction to kids and even adults. In “Should Fidget Spinners Be Allowed at School” it states, “I know some teachers have reported that fidget spinners are relatively quiet. Sometimes kids click their pens over and over or tap their feet when they are trying to concentrate. I find things like that way more distracting than fidget
In “Hooked on ‘Caramel-Colored Gold,” Melody Nelson claims “Despite the increased awareness of the benefits of good nutrition, we are a nation hooked on junk food, and many school administrators are taking advantage of the situation ” (par. 3). Nelson propose a ban on vending machines in schools because junk food is unhealthy for children, and they risk future health problems. I agree with Melody Nelson and believe that vending machines should be banned from school campuses, because they sell unhealthy food, they cause more money to schools for hiring extra custodians, and they are affecting children learning abilities.
Are fidget spinners worth all the hype? Should they be allowed in classrooms, or should they be banned? Fidget spinners are growing more popular every day with kids all around the world buying them. The real question is -- Are kids using them for the real purpose? Children should not have fidget spinners because they are harmful to kids, they are distracting in classrooms, and they are being taken advantage of.
Schools should not take fidget spinners away when people that have issues for focusing or anxiety need them. From the article chicago tribune it says, “they could help anyone, she said an outright ban could be counterproductive to kids who need them”. In school students may have issues and might need the spinners. They should not take fidget spinners away when all they're doing is helping many students focus and getting their work done. When you sit at a desk for a long period of time you can't just sit still but if you have a fidget spinner in your hand you can focus and get your work done and not get in trouble for being distracted.
One reason fidget spinners shouldn’t be allowed in school is because the toys have become a major distraction. “ Although seemingly harmless, theses items are being taken out during class causing distraction to students and staff. ” From the article schools are banning fidget spinners, calling them nuisances and even dangerous by Valerie Strauss. In some schools are banning fidget spinners. They say that some kids can't concentrate on both the teacher and the fidget spinners. Some even say that the teachers are getting distracted. “ They say the toys have become a major distraction to teachers and students ad in some case, they are being banned from classrooms” proves that fidget spinners in class isn't such a good idea. The quote explains how teachers are getting distracted too by theses toys.

In 'The Cask of the Amontillado'; Edgar Allan Poe uses symbolism, imagery, and the atmosphere to help fully explore the sinful nature of pride and its serious consequences within the short story. The character of Fortunato is the main capsule for the explanation of the dangers of being prideful of ones self. By examining Poe's use of symbolism, images, and effective backdrops around Fortunato the reader may begin to understand the importance of the deadly sin of pride.
Buzzzzzzzzzz! Another cellphone is going off in the middle of class, causing her to blush and discreetly check her new text message. A virtual conversation is buzzing back and forth inside one classroom and into the classroom across the hall, having a discussion about the party that night or the lipstick color chosen at the mall. In another classroom, a student posts the answers to the English exams on her profile page, allowing all of her buddies to read and use for their time of the exam. There are multiple examples of students using their cell phones during class time to communicate their thoughts, images of their environment or dangerous crimes. In addition, the percentage of students with cellphones now soars to about 80% (Ban). This highly increases the chance for students to have a cell phones on them during school. Cell phones can also be harmful to students during class, taking them into another world of technology, separated from the classroom, and turning them down a road of decisions they never intended on doing. Overall, cell phones alter classroom learning in a negative way, and should be banned from use in the classroom at all schools.
Cell phones should not be allowed in school because children focus more on the phone than schoolwork, it creates more drama, and it promotes cheating. Cell phones should not be allowed in schools because kids are always wondering what their friends are doing and what is happening outside of school. If they have access to their phones all day, then they will be glued to them. Phones are more entertaining than a teacher lecturing at the front of the class. Most students will start to zone out, or fall asleep, when a teacher starts a lesson.
We all know technology is changing everyday. As laptops are becoming more popular in today 's society, especially in a college classroom setting, professors have noticed more and more students with their faces engaged on the computer screen and not the lecture. Given the unquestionable results regarding the use of cell phones by students in school there should not be a ban on the cell phones in schools. This is because students can learn to enhance their learning from the technology such as the cell phone. Students will also become more independent in their work and more motivated to learn. Students like being permitted to making their own choices.
Technologies like computers or iPads (or anything with internet access for that matter) in the classroom could possibly distract students from their work. Classroom administrators seem to forget that the majority of students really don’t want to be in the classroom.. I remember when I was in highschool, whenever a teacher would bring students into a computer lab, or bring class sets of computers, or bring iPads into the classroom for a lesson a large portion would go onto twitter, or onto any unblocked flash game website whenever the teacher was not looking, try to access anything for them to “escape” the classroom. When there are a large majority of children and/or teens that do not want to go to school, and are given tools to be rebellious so easily, what is going to stop them? Aside, who really wants to sit through the same autonomous paper typing over and over again...
