She thinks that all the prosperity of the company has been brought about by her efforts. She gives herself credit for the success of the company. Some questions that are important for her will be what she thinks about the success of the business and goals. My team and I will also delve into why she has had various divorces and what is affecting her job, is it the time she spends at work. The issue of her son’s substance abuse will also be a case of discussion. These issues should be addressed since they are a cause of stress to her. This is important in order to determine the root of her pride and help unite the executive board together. Pride usually leads to fallout with the others since someone deems him or herself as superior to the others. Another question will be how she views those under her. This will enable one to determine if the workers have been intimidated and come to a point where they should be treated in a manner that is respectable. Some recommendations would be that she should be ready to accept the views of others to promote unity and teamwork. I will conduct seminars to promote awareness of good mental health and state at the workplace. It is important that everyone knows that his or her productivity is or may be affected by the situations he or she is passing through. It is important that one talks about the problem with a trustworthy person or share with someone the problem he or she may be having. This is in cases that need counseling. Some of the cases need counseling and medication. The research in the field of IO psychology, provides aspects that attain to my interests. These aspects include; the study of management-employee relationship, work motivation to drive production, organizational culture, motivated leadership and its effectiveness, organizational development, training, ergonomics and the need of employee counseling. I have a passionate commitment to obtain the work of a psychologist, out of concern for the well-being of clients and the community at large. As a result of my professional volunteer experience, I now have a great deal of confidence in my abilities to plan and organize professionally, to set priorities, to meet deadlines and to handle simultaneous demands and conflicting priorities.
The second function of organizing is accomplished through the assessment of planning and the preparing for the implementation of resources such as workers and their schedules. Currently, the organization lacks manpower in specific areas and this need to be addressed through better organization of human resources. Managers must also make sure that employees have the necessary resources to perform their jobs. Lack of organization can lead to inefficiency and lack of productivity, which is occurring in the in ability to service customers properly and double booking of clients.
There are a number of individuals who experience stress relating to their profession. Occupational stress is defined as “Job related stress, which often comes from occupational duties for which people perceive themselves as having a great deal of responsibility.” (Seaward, 2012) With different occupational comes many different forms of occupational stress. Personally, I though it would be interesting to research occupational stress in a customer focused environment.
It is important to identify some of the problems an organization may have and go in and analyze them. There are many techniques that can be approached to help gain businesses people side of management like improving rapid response to customer service needs, low employee output, and costs. Change is not easy for some people, so making sure employees understand why change is needed helps people to become more aware and have the time to adjust or process those changes.
According to the American Bureau of Labor Statistics, Industrial Organizational Psychology is expected to be the fastest growing occupation with the highest median pay from 2012-2022, with a growth rate of fifty-three percent. With an ever-growing amount of businesses in the United States, it’s no wonder that industrial organizational psychologists are getting hired on to help companies and employees achieve their full potential. According to Doug Reynolds, former president of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, "businesses and other larger organizations are quickly realizing the competitive advantages that can be gained by managing their talent using practices that have a basis in evidence and science--and that's at the heart of what I-O psychologists do.”
In Murphy and Shoeborn’s paper, Stress Management in Work Settings, practical information in presented regarding the application of a stress management program within the workplace, along with guidance for creating a “comprehensive stress management program which encourages each individual to become more self-responsible and self-determining, and suggests that the overall program must focus on dynamics within the organization as well as within the individual” (Murphy & Shoenborn, 1987). In addition, Murphy and Shoenborn state that to develop an effective stress management program; several steps as indicated in must be applied as outlined in Figure 3
Work place or occupational stress refers to any form of restrain that is experienced when there is no match between job demands and the output of the worker. The article ‘Occupational stress’ aims at showing ways in which stress people get from their work place affect them and what causes the stress. This condition may encompass many conditions that include maladaptive behavior, psychological disorders, cognitive impairment, as well as emotional strain. These conditions lead to poor performances at work, injuries, or biological reactions that in turn may compromise the health of the employee.
The manager should be able to select and know these factors. As organization is created systems by people, the internal factors are mainly the result of management decisions. Not all of the internal factors are completely controlled by the management. Organization is influenced by many environmental factors. In the new millennium we have to learn how to live in a market economy. And the most important condition for this is a highly skilled managers. Ability to identify and analyze the internal elements of the organization and external factors is the key to the success of the business. The main factors in the organization that require management attention are objectives, structure, tasks, technology and people. An organization can be seen as a means to achieve the objectives that allows people to perform collectively what they could not carry out individually. Goals are desired outcome, which aims to achieve a group working together. The main objective of most organizations is profit. Income is a key indicator of the organization. People are the basis of any organization. Without people there is no organization. They shape the culture of the organization and its internal climate. They determine what the organization is. Combinations of different experiences and education have developed a variety of assumptions about how an organisation works. The use of metaphors when describing organisation movements and change is an important way in which we express these assumptions (Cameron and Green, 2012). Gareth Morgan’s (1986) work on organizational metaphors is good for understanding the different assumptions and beliefs about change that exists. He identifies eight organizational metaphors; machines, organisms, brains, cultures, political systems, psychic prisons and flux and transformation (Morgan, 1986).

Learning is defined as a measurable and the act or the process of acquiring a relatively permanent change in a behavioural tendency through knowledge, skills and experience. People learn in their lifetime. The learning process continues throughout our life and it is the first step in becoming an outstanding performer. In today’s rapidly developing world, if you do not keep learning, you are not standing still, you are falling behind. This is not only applied to individual, but also for the organizations. But here comes the questions: Is individual and the organization can learn?
