Artist Ria also known as Ria, is a unique up and coming artist that is most known for putting her art on small post-it notes and drawing with acrylic paint. Artist Ria is wife and mother, born and raised in New York City. Although Artist Ria has never been to art school, she has been drawing at the early age of four years old. Her style usually consists of afro-art, however, she also does a lot of abstract art as well. Ria doesn’t use art subjects, but sometimes she uses references of photography work to inspire her drawings. Many of her paintings represent common things in our everyday lives and usually have meaningful titles. She feels that the inspiration for all of her work reflects from her love for God, her family and marriage. She claims …show more content…
I have always had a love for art but I’ve never fulfilled my passion by putting in all the hard work, motivation and effort. To know that many of her art pieces are completed on a small post it notes makes her art seems effortless yet so beautiful and meaningful. The colors and abstract shapes that she uses makes you wish you could take her small paintings along with you in your wallet. Celebrities such as Swizz Beatz and Marsha Ambrosius also support her and are fans of her work. I also like the fact that she is into poetry, music and food. She seems pretty down to earth as well as talented to have taught herself how to draw so …show more content…
Nobody knows his true identity. Banksy uses stencils and spraypaint on brick walls and has left his mark throughout England, New York City and even Pakistan. He is known worldwide and is famous for his bravery to call out recent problems in society. Most of Banksy’s subjects include rats, apes, and policemen to metaphorically representing, political issues, war, capitalism, hypocrisy and greed. Banksy finds his inspiration from the things that are around him. Not only does he use society to motivate and influence him, he also uses slogans to help his viewers get a better understanding of his point of view. Because Banksy remains an anonymous artist, there really isn’t much known about him except for the fact that he started in England and left his marks across the country. I like Banksy’s graffiti art because it is unique. I like the fact that he is brave enough to challenge society and call out the corruptions that many people are blind to. A lot of artists don’t have
style and when you see a Banksy piece, you know it’s his art. It’s like the art actually hits you and makes you feel something. I feel that Banksy’s art can make a change in this world and people need to appreciate it more. He is sharing his gift and wisdom to the world and it’s importance is being taken for
Vera Olivia Weatherbie was an accomplished painter in her own right, regarded more so now than during her lifetime. She was born in 1909 in Vancouver and attended Brittania Secondary School. She grew up in the Strathcona neighbourhood near Chinatown in Vancouver’s East end. Her parents were strict, conservative Presbyterians, yet somehow she was able to persuade them to let her attend the Vancouver School of Decorative and Applied Arts (VSDAA) at the young age of 16.
Frida Kahlo is known for the most influential Latin American female artist. She is also known as a rebellious feminist. Kahlo was inspired to paint after her near-death bus incident when she was 17. After this horrendous incident that scarred her for life, she went under 35 different operations. These operations caused her extreme pain and she was no longer able to have kids. Kahlo’s art includes self portraits of her emotions, pain, and representations of her life. Frida Kahlo was an original individual, not only in her artwork but also in her
In conclusion I feel this artist is really inspiring, as his art gives a whole new look at life. That’s the way I look at it and feel as though he would too. He grew up in one of the hardest era’s for an African American and yet he still perspired, which to me is incredible. Overall his pieces give an interesting look on life, through a piece of metal representing life and humans. All of his artwork intrigued me and I was happy to be able to picture some of the pieces in person. This experience was truly different and I’m glad I chose this artist for his true passion

Mary Cassatt is one of the most famous female figures in the art world and aided in the popularization of Impressionism. Her work was simple yet impactful, and left its viewers wanting more. The main focus in most of her works was of mother and child or of women doing simple daily tasks. Her broken brush strokes and bright color palettes made her pieces pleasant and full of life. Though her work was not at first accepted, she kept painting and worked hard to make a name for herself and to change the art world into something more diverse and accepting.
Smith has many ways of showing her ideas through artwork. She is a very unique artist that displays modern art with not so modern theories. Although some of her artwork is highly controversial it is all great art that is appreciated by many. Smith has been given many deserving awards for her artwork and the hard and dedicated work that she puts into every piece that she creates.
...s between the artists and the movies are clearly delineated. Its unlikely Banksy has never tried drugs (who knows?) but has done so in the context of a different construction of reality and thus this difference is also to be found in the movies. Long lives difference!
When I first read about Marina Abramovic, I found her performance art can be both shocking and hold the attention of one. Her work ranges in physical intensity, emotional exposure, and sadness. Marina Abramovic work is about self abuse, self discipline, and unreasonable punishment and great courage. Through the conditions she puts herself and her audience in her performance. In my opinion, I feel Marina Abramovic and my main goal as an artist is not only to completely change the way art is seen by the public, but to push the performance the same line as fine art.
In all the world there is one thing that I want to do in life and that is to be noticed and/or known. Maybe not worldwide or even throughout my country but even just in my city, I want to do something that people remember me for. This is kind of like Banksys life but his story is just a bit twisted. He is a shadow in the night that leaves an image in the streets. Banksy, if that’s even his real name, is a famous street artist that paints on buildings, sidewalks, and even billboards. But the thing about Banksy is that nobody knows who his real identity is. He is so famous and loved by so many people and has inspired many due to his art, but he is not around to make an appearance to be recognized and to speak with the fans he has because he likes being that shadow. I am not sure how he stands back and watches these streets flourish and not want to be identified for the art he has done. Even though I am sure he has taken the fact that he could make millions
Lori Earley was born in Rye, New York and graduated from the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where she received her BFA. Growing up she was always interested in art, but she was barely exposed to any. Lori’s style of contemporary surrealist figurative art was fully created on her own, since she matured early in her life. Her normal style is shown through her technique with oil paintings, but she also is talented with paper and graphite. Because her paintings are so unique, this made it possible for her to become the successful artist that she always dreamed of.
Vandals; Cornbread, Taki 183, Phase 2, Banksy, Jean-Michel Basquiat are only a few of the OG street artist who were able to take claim of their identity and express their art through their graffiti.
Although other artists know who he is, Banksy doesn’t have a public face that he shows at galleries and in his documentaries. In Will Ellsworth-Jones article “The Story Behind Banksy: on his way to becoming an international icon, the subversive and secretive street artist turned the art world upside-down” he talks about one of Banksy’s earlier galleries. Ellsworth-Jones says “The show was a high-profile demonstration of the phenomenon that has come to be known as the ‘Banksy effect’—the artist’s astounding success in bringing urban, outsider art into the cultural, and increasingly profitable, mainstream” (2). Banksy’s “effect” is altering urban culture and bringing it to art galleries to be displayed and sold. In the grand scheme of things, he is commodifying graffiti and urban culture, making it more consumable and then proceeding selling and profit off of it. In A&E’s biography page for Banksy they state that Banksy’s work is unique due to the fact that it “often engages political themes, satirically critiquing war, capitalism, hypocrisy and greed.” The uniqueness of his work is a common reason different news outlets give for Banksy’s success. Contrary to popular belief, Banksy’s content isn’t groundbreaking. Artists of all mediums, including graffiti, before and during his time have touched upon all of the same themes as
The modern artist, Andy Warhol, is one of the most well known pop artists of the 1960’s. Warhol purposely strayed away from the very emotional painting style of the Abstract Expressionists. He was influenced heavily by American Pop culture, borrowing several images as well as ordinary consumer products for his pieces. Ultimately he approached his art in a way to have commercial or advertisement look. Warhol’s goal was to strip down art of its magical qualities, and wanted it to look like anybody could do it. Warhol’s work explores a vast number of ideas in American Pop culture.
I’m drawn to her art because I haven’t seen anything similar. Dimitra’s art has these animals that we depict as dangerous but, they look as sensitive as the women do. Her art has a dreamy, imaginative and feminine concept to it. It’s simultaneously complicated and simplistic like women. Having her artwork being solely surrounded around women makes me feel confident, bold, and fearless. Her pieces make me strive to be better because a dream starts out with something that can be obtained realistically and I can do anything I set mind to. With her being as young as she is, it’s amazing what an impact on the world she’s already made. She’s an
Banksy’s artwork was effective in achieving it’s purpose because of it’s appeal to the heart, and in what is perceived as a dismal area where there is little hope, it most likely affected the view some may have on life, if not for just a moment.
