Although, communication between members of the same group affected. They are not so willing to talk openly about certain things because they think they cannot be associated with them or do not understand or cannot be trusted. The problem is not ethnic conflict or a troubled race relations, but production and isolation. There are some people who live in more diverse environments that tend to keep to themselves and shut everyone out. Putnam said, residents of diverse communities tend to withdraw even from close friends, to expect the worst from their community and its leaders, to volunteer less, give less to charity and work on community projects less often, to register to vote less, anger and social reform more, but less faith that they really can make a difference, and to huddle unfortunately in front of the television. Diversity can affect someone in a negative way. For example, a person may begin to feel as if they cannot turn to close friends or family because they do not hold the same tradition as others, and because they are different does not have anyone they can express themselves. So, instead of communicating with other people they prefer to bottle it and finish with an unhappy and withdraw from the general

Every individual in society and in a community is unique in their own ways, and their diversity shows up in many ways. Some of these ways include: religion, race, socioeconomic status, lifestyle, and so on. Everyone’s backgrounds are different, and this is what creates diversity in people. Even though everyone might not be the same, only by uniting everyone can we create the big picture. It’s like a puzzle—even though people are different, we can come together to create a big picture that couldn’t be created by puzzle pieces of the same shape. To me, diversity symbolizes the unique backgrounds that we come from. Every individual in their communities and in their society are influenced by their background—and this can come from various reasons. If someone comes from a different socioeconomic background, or lifestyle, their thought processes and their view of life might be much more different than mine. Their reaction to a certain situation can be much more different than mine, and it is important for me to see all these viewpoints in order to be a more informed member of my community. Everyone is diverse in their expression, style, and
Self proclaimed philosopher, english writer, and novelist Aldous Huxley wrote the book Brave New World. One of the issues in the novel is how uniform the society is. There is no diversity in the in Brave New World. Huxley carefully examined on why society is the way it is. Society is diverse, whether it is because of race, gender, socioeconomic, or culture, I have learnt that it is important to respect a person for who they are. Because America is a country that is culturally diverse, I will need to do some research on a patient that has a different culture from me. As I stated in the first paragraph, there will always be a way for human beings to diversify themselves into groups in which share similar interests. Diversity starts in the school, kids, tend to hang with people of similar characteristics, whether it is that the kids play the same sport or share the same religion. These differences in our society is what makes human beings in general interesting. When people hear the word 'diversity', they often think in terms of black and white. I believe the true meaning of diversity is not simply about skin color, economic background or the face value of any other characteristic, rather it is the increased knowledge and sensitivity gained from unique experiences. The strength of diversity then comes from having many points of view and trying to reconcile them by finding common truths or resolving differences amongst people. Being a person of mixed heritage, my father is black and my mother is white, has definitely affected my life and contributed to the development of qualities that enhance my ability to embrace the uniqueness of those around me. Being raised in a single parent household and the values passed on to me by my mother have also been strong influences in my life. My greatest contribution to my community is the ability to create relationships between people of diverse backgrounds and a desire to understand others' beliefs.
Traditionally, diversity refers to an assortment of races, ethnicities, genders, ages, disabilities and perhaps sexual orientations. A definition of diversity, however, should not be constrained by traditional categories such as these. Such a definition should also include categories such as religion, educational level, life experience, geographic location, socio-economic background, marital status and work experience. Indeed, each person employed by a company possesses unique qualities that encompass many factors.
Diversity refers to the ways people differ from each other. These ways are significant and plentiful. Culturally, people vary in gender, age, ethnicity, race sexual orientation, educational background, religion, lifestyle, as well as veteran and/or immigrant status. Functionally, people vary in the ways we think, learn, process information, respond to authority, show respect and reach agreements (Pollar & Gonzalez, 2011.)
Diversity is a notion, when applied to the majority of circumstances, can create a positive conclusion. The trick to producing a positive outcome is often how the different aspects are brought together. Consider a classic dinner combination peas and carrots, the two colors look appealing and the two flavors comes together as one making a superb side dish. Now consider oil and water, these two substance are not often considered a good combination. Although, this is not always the case; olive oil and vinegar (which is water based) when mixed, come together into a delectable salad dressing. Diversity and inclusion should also apply to humans by bringing people together who are different it can creates a whole that is enhanced by the uniqueness of each individual.

Diversity Is Not Working Hammering diversity into our lives where it is not wanted is causing negative effects in our communities. The idea of diversity sounds good to the ears, but it is like the idea of equality; many encourage it but it is more talked about than it is implemented. As Americans, the word diversity is something people tend to like in theory due to our ever-changing culture; but actions on the idea of diversity is saying the opposite. As humans, there is no fight between inborn characteristics and how humans have naturally separated socially into groups. Human nature has a great influence on us and is a major barrier to creating a diverse society.
