1. Why do you want to gain admission to the Masters in Arts in Counselling Psychology Program?
Using psychology and understanding it in a real world context has recently become an everyday reality and passion for me. I am writing this letter expressing my desire to apply for the Master of Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I have a passion for psychology that has been long standing. I began my studies in psychology 20 years ago, and achieved great success studying both psychology and philosophy for two years in high school. I had the opportunity to explore my interest in psychology by representing my school on TV in regards to this subject. What do you want to do with your degree?
My goal if I were to study in this program is to apply for Canadian certified Counsellor (CCC) designation with the Canadian Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA)
I would like to work in the community to help people achieve healthy lifestyles and work towards changes in the social justice system and counselling. My second goal through studying in this program is to help newcomers to Canada achieve the best settlement possible, especially refugees, as a result of the challenges they have faced.
I hope to work in the field of Guidance and Counseling in School Environments as we can notice nowadays many Syrian kids have joined Canadian Public Schools, and they are currently struggling due to language barrier from one side, and the big challenges they have faced from the other side.
Hopefully, when I will get my degree ,I will be able to get a valuable opportunity to help those kids to overcome all the challenges that they might face, by getting all the academic support, and counselling in order to become successful citizens.
I believe that once the children will have a better life, they will be good
