To begin with, My areas of strength what I felt was so true was Key Content Knowledge section. Because that category indicates that's my area of strength. Student effort this semester is truly what I am leaning on to get by. Because honestly I never thought about going back to school until now. So constantly I challenge my effort because I am sort of a slacker when it comes to school. Academic Value is important to me so I will keep pushing to earn my degree. Secondly, My strengths will make me a better student by constantly pushing for good grades and knowledge throughout college. So far I can say applying these strengths got me on the right
track. Being a first year student I study more now than I ever did and applying effort I can say school is now is becoming interesting to me than it has ever been. Finally, my areas that has room for improvement is Transition Knowledge. Tuition and financial aid is something that I never knew nothing about. After completing the Clifton strength finders test, I learned my dominant strengths and it gave me a sense on what areas I am strong in. It allows you to work in the areas that you are good in and not in the ones you might not be as strong in. My top five strengths were learner, connectedness, belief, positivity, and includer. A lot of these I figured I would have because I am an athlete and I love to be positive. That is good because I practice these strengths every day which in turn will make me better at them and will allow me to use them in my career.
These strengths and weaknesses were mainly discovered through the papers that we have written. I have many strengths when I’m writing papers and at the same time, I have many weaknesses. In my papers, I have noticed that one of my biggest strengths is how articulate I am. The papers that have been written by myself show that I structured sentences to present ideas in different ways. It is not straightforward and boring when ideas are presented. I like to keep the reader hooked on my paper. In order to keep up with this strength, I like to read articles. The articles I read are typically the ones that present new ideas or start arguments. This is one of my strengths that I am very proud
One strength I had was the organization of the essay. My sentences I wrote were not all over the place each paragraph talks about one topic. One weakness I had with writing this essay was my writing style. I noticed that in this essay my writing style was a bit choppy. I should have read my essay out loud to see if it had a good flow between my ideas.
These are the skills and competencies I have learned through my studies at Walden University. Kaslow, Grus, Campbell, & Fouad, et al. (2009) stated professionalism comes from my respect for those who need help. Integrity can be built with confidence in the therapist. Attitudes are charitable, polite, caring emotions toward others that fuel my motivation toward helping. This concern welfare of others comes from my religious and personal experiences as a child and young adult.
For personal and professional growth, given my personality traits, I need to embrace my strengths and weaknesses. I must use my strengths to my advantage, to be more effective academically and in the workplace, but I also need to identify and try to overcome my weaknesses, especially professionally.
One strength I saw myself, as having when I enter college is being able to understand and critical think about a essay/article that I have read. However, after taking English 101, I have now learned that this is a strength of mine as well as a weakness.
Reaching any success will not be easy to achieve. Academic success, in that matter, to me, is meeting or exceeding the University's expectations, learning to the best ability, standing out, and building knowledge towards ones own vocational calling and degree. Personal strengths reflect and devote those aspirations; contributing to finding and accomplishing life goals and academic success. After finalizing the Gallup “StrengthsFinder” valuation, my top five strengths were determined to be competition, adaptability, harmony, ideation, and futuristic, in that order. As an Internation Business Major, yet to find my vocational calling; my goal is to habit those strengths, set academic ambitions, be extrusive, and have a willingness to learn new things of my desired profession while seeking for my calling in life.
Instead, I chose to evaluate my strengths and weaknesses so that I could become a stronger and more well-rounded applicant and person. I started correcting many things I felt were hindering my growth as a student. First I became more organized by planning my schedule at the beginning of the week and holding myself accountable for tasks I do not accomplish to ensure that I am fulfilling my obligations. Discipline and hard-work are priceless qualities because I vehemently believe that these attributes can outperform any type of natural intelligence. Next, I learned that preparation is the key to being able to produce quality work. With this in mind, I began preparing for my medical school application far in advance, as well as, adhering religiously to my MCAT regimen. Doing so allowed me to reduce stress and have more time to put towards applying to medical
My strengths would be extraversion and conscientiousness. I definitely find my extraversion as a strength, because it helps me network with ease. Also, it is a strength because some research has revealed that extraversion has some impact on academic performance, and is likely due to higher rates of extraverts participating actively in class (Dumfart & Neubauer, 2016). My other strength, conscientiousness, is valued for being a major predictor of positive academic performance. School is the most important thing to me other than my family, and my conscientiousness really comes into play is regards of my school work. I find myself to have a strong drive for achievement, and I possess the self-discipline that’s necessary for me to flourish. For example, in high-school I would study so diligently and thoroughly that I had straight A’s for almost three years
StrengthsQuest was very confirming to me and the things that I already thought were my strengths. My five strengths are Achiever, Belief, Developer, Learner, and Restorative. I am very much an achiever in all of the things I do. Belief is also a foundational factor to who I am because I am very strong in what I believe and know and I hold true to those things. Developer was one of the questionable things that I got; I see it in my leadership style, but not always in my everyday life. The Learner strength falls in line behind my Achiever quality since I am constantly seeking to achieve certain things through knowledge and growth. Restorative is in the same category as Developer because I do enjoy that in a medical sense, but not always in everyday life. My strengths make me move forward, make me more mature, make it easy for me to make a few deep friends while struggling to have a lot of general friends, make me seem arrogant, and make it difficult for me to push the relax button.
