StrengthsQuest was very confirming to me and the things that I already thought were my strengths. My five strengths are Achiever, Belief, Developer, Learner, and Restorative. I am very much an achiever in all of the things I do. Belief is also a foundational factor to who I am because I am very strong in what I believe and know and I hold true to those things. Developer was one of the questionable things that I got; I see it in my leadership style, but not always in my everyday life. The Learner strength falls in line behind my Achiever quality since I am constantly seeking to achieve certain things through knowledge and growth. Restorative is in the same category as Developer because I do enjoy that in a medical sense, but not always in everyday life. My strengths make me move forward, make me more mature, make it easy for me to make a few deep friends while struggling to have a lot of general friends, make me seem arrogant, and make it difficult for me to push the relax button. Most of my strengths are my drive and passion for living life. I am a very driven person in what I want and the path to get there, and my strengths are key factors in creating that in me. I was raised to never say the word “can’t” and that sticks with me every single day in everything that I do. Every day is a new day and I …show more content…
Some in high school always viewed me as a teacher’s pet, but that was only because I worked harder than others and had a genuine desire to learn about the subject. I view myself as an adult already; consequently, I can come off as seeing myself as “higher” than others in the sense that I have been through a lot, I have a lot of knowledge, or I work harder than a lot of others my age. A lot of people that don’t take the time to get to know me can misperceive my strengths and turn them into something
Strengths Finder 2.0 uses an online assessment to evaluate the individuals unique talents by having the taker rate how they view a particular question in 20 seconds or less (Rath, 2007). After taking the assessment, my five strengths were determined to be achiever, maximizer, input, arranger, and relator (Gallup StrengthsFinder, 2012).
My personal strengths are that I read and remember things well from most sources. I can process new information easily which helps with various forms of math and science. However, I also possess several weaknesses. I sometimes shy
After completing the Clifton strength finders test, I learned my dominant strengths and it gave me a sense on what areas I am strong in. It allows you to work in the areas that you are good in and not in the ones you might not be as strong in. My top five strengths were learner, connectedness, belief, positivity, and includer. A lot of these I figured I would have because I am an athlete and I love to be positive. That is good because I practice these strengths every day which in turn will make me better at them and will allow me to use them in my career.
These strengths and weaknesses were mainly discovered through the papers that we have written. I have many strengths when I’m writing papers and at the same time, I have many weaknesses. In my papers, I have noticed that one of my biggest strengths is how articulate I am. The papers that have been written by myself show that I structured sentences to present ideas in different ways. It is not straightforward and boring when ideas are presented. I like to keep the reader hooked on my paper. In order to keep up with this strength, I like to read articles. The articles I read are typically the ones that present new ideas or start arguments. This is one of my strengths that I am very proud
My five strengths according to the strength finder include; balance, this helps me be aware of treating all people equally regardless of the situation. I am neither in anyone 's favor or against anyone as this to me is selfishness and individualism. This would result in a situation where some people scale heights due to connections while others are lagging behind. I believe that a consistent environment where the rules apply to everyone is the best for individuals to function best (Rath, 2007). Flexibility is my next strength. By knowing that things do not always work out as planned has helped me change the tactics of how I perform my tasks. I do not always expect to have a smooth flow of opportunities or accomplish goals, but
One strength I saw myself, as having when I enter college is being able to understand and critical think about a essay/article that I have read. However, after taking English 101, I have now learned that this is a strength of mine as well as a weakness.
Another strength that I have is being an active listener. I listened to my clients and utilized a lot of micro skills. Insuring confidentiality was also a strength that I developed closer to the end of field placement. Conducting assessments and making sure I tracked and exhausted the topics was also a strength that I identified throughout field. Practicing from a strengths perspective was also another area I excelled at when working with my clients. A skill that I could work on is being more conscious of self in terms of body language during interviews, because at times I find myself with my arms cross which may give an indication that I’m closed off or
Strengths can be drawn from things that an individual currently excels at, while weaknesses, on the other hand, are things that result in lessened productivity. Therefore, among several strengths, I have identified three core areas of strength that lend credence to my career among which are: empathetic, analytical and visionary. In the same
The top five character strengths that I predicted are judgment, bravery, love of learning, creativity, and fairness. Now, I will explain why I believe these are my strengths: 1. Bravery. I am a fairly self-conscious person, and that is because I have social anxiety disorder. I am constantly agonizing about peoples’ perception of me. Despite struggling with this mental illness, I still try. Every day, I do things that terrify me, such as raising my hand in class, asking questions, offering my opinion in class discussions, doing presentations, socializing, etc. Even though speaking up terrifies me, I am vocal in the face of injustice, bigotry, and discrimination, even if it results in conflict with others. 2. Judgement. I consider myself to be a critical thinker, particularly when it comes to social issues; I like to observe problematic social norms and other social issues with a goal of understanding why it started, who is perpetuating it, and how it can be solved. I dislike being spoon-fed information without being able to assess its
The results of the StrengthsQuest assessment were very interesting. In fact, I was surprised by how accurately the talents aligned with my goals and personality. My top five strengths were futuristic, input, arranger, responsibility, and intellection. I define futuristic as always thinking about the next steps or thinking about how my actions in the present will affect my future. Also, I define input as offering my perspective on things especially issues that I feel strongly about. Next, I define arranger as someone who likes to brings ideas together and consider the logistics when planning things. Furthermore, I define responsibility as doing the right thing and looking out for others. Lastly, I define intellection as a strength in someone
My flexibility is certainly one of my greatest strengths. I can easily move between different working styles, depending on the scenario. I have no problem trying a new idea or concept out before deciding on a final direction. I am continually exploring different options. Being a “people-person” is one of my other strengths. My excellent interpersonal skills allow for me to bring ideas, thoughts and people together. I generate enthusiasm and excitement into tasks. I feel comfortable and confident talking to others about anything that I have knowledge of.
When it comes to my schoolwork, I tend to be extremely conscientious, diligent, and ambitious. A few of my academic strengths are my organizational skills and ability to think critically. A weakness that I have is test taking; while taking tests I become nervous, and forget the information. I become upset with myself if I earn a C on a test or in a class. Then I consider what I could have done differently to receive a higher grade and apply it to future assignments. I react this way when it comes to my studies, because my dad used to get upset with us if we received anything below a B in specific subjects. For example, if we got a C in math my dad would say, “You don’t know how to count? I guess I will stop giving you money since you cannot count it.” He would also reward us for being able to count and getting good grades. When I was a little girl, he used to put out money and give us 30 seconds to count it, if we counted
My work ethic and determination are one of my strengths because I will work extremely hard to get to where I want to be in life. My future is my determination, and I will never give up to reach the goals that I want to reach in life. My determination is a huge strength because it helped me get through a lot of things that I had to face in my life. Without my determination, I would be a weak person, and I would not be the person that I am today. It is important that I make sure that I keep my determination because that is who I am.
My top five strengths include relator, adaptability, strategic, competition, and focus. When getting the results back from my Gallup strengths report I couldn’t believe how well it described me. First is relator, because of my strengths I have friends that come to me for guidance, suggestions, or recommendations. By my talents, I occasionally feel pleased when friends seek my counsel. Even being asked for guidance uplifts me. I feel really good about life when I give myself credit for reducing difficult-to-understand ideas. I grasp the concept of “less is more” better than some people do. Chances are good that I sometimes identify with people who share their ambitions, hopes, or intentions. By nature, I make sure that I am measuring up to
One of my greatest strengths at work that I have recognized would have to be my ability to be a well-organized individual. I tend to write what I have to do down on paper and prioritize what is more important to least important. In doing this, it helps me organize and accomplish my work and meet deadlines that are important. A personal strength that I have at home is patience. I am a mother of a beautiful three year old little girl who is a handful. Patience is my greatest strength as a parent and individual which I possess especially being a single mother. I am a dedicated and hard working mother and I always make sure that my daughter gets the love and attention she needs.
