Recommended: Self reflection about strengths
Each person has areas that they excel in. These areas are different for every person, and they are what make us unique. According to my Strengths Finder survey, my strengths are as follows: responsibility, harmony, maximizer, achiever, and discipline (Gallup, 2012). I feel that I utilize these strengths on a daily basis. My number one strength is responsibility. It is said that a, “responsibility theme forces you to take psychological ownership for anything you commit to, and whether large or small, you feel emotionally bound to follow it through to completion (Gallup, 2012, p. 1).” This is evident in my day to day work at my current job. I am a person of my word, and if I say that I will complete a task, I will work on that task until it is complete. I am constantly the person who gets chosen for new responsibilities, because people know I am dependable and will do whatever it takes to get the job done (Gallup, 2012). My second strength is harmony. I try to create an environment where everyone can work together peacefully, feel accepted, and keep disagreements to a …show more content…
I believe that everyone is born with a skill set. I feel that it is my job as a leader to observe the strengths of my team, and utilize them where necessary. I do not feel like every person should be well rounded (Gallup, 2012). Instead, I believe that each person should be placed into a position which utilizes their natural born strengths; a position where they can hone and develop these strengths. A well built team will incorporate people who are a master of certain skill sets, not people who have experience in many skills but master none. This is evident in my team at my current job. I have assembled a team in which each member has their own skill that nobody else on the team has. I feel that this gives them a sense of importance and responsibility within the building, and helps them give their best effort while at
My personal strengths are that I read and remember things well from most sources. I can process new information easily which helps with various forms of math and science. However, I also possess several weaknesses. I sometimes shy
These strengths and weaknesses were mainly discovered through the papers that we have written. I have many strengths when I’m writing papers and at the same time, I have many weaknesses. In my papers, I have noticed that one of my biggest strengths is how articulate I am. The papers that have been written by myself show that I structured sentences to present ideas in different ways. It is not straightforward and boring when ideas are presented. I like to keep the reader hooked on my paper. In order to keep up with this strength, I like to read articles. The articles I read are typically the ones that present new ideas or start arguments. This is one of my strengths that I am very proud
My five strengths according to the strength finder include; balance, this helps me be aware of treating all people equally regardless of the situation. I am neither in anyone 's favor or against anyone as this to me is selfishness and individualism. This would result in a situation where some people scale heights due to connections while others are lagging behind. I believe that a consistent environment where the rules apply to everyone is the best for individuals to function best (Rath, 2007). Flexibility is my next strength. By knowing that things do not always work out as planned has helped me change the tactics of how I perform my tasks. I do not always expect to have a smooth flow of opportunities or accomplish goals, but
My top strength is Individualization. To me, this strength means the ability to figure people out and understand the true uniqueness of others. With this strength, I am able to make things run smoothly and, at the same time, able to involve everyone in a group. The next strength I have is strategic, which enables me to find alternative ways to deal with problems. Therefore, I am also able to make things run smoothly and according to plan. In addition to these two strengths, my third strength is competitive which measures how successful I am compared against others. This is great because it helps me to endure and work hard in order to make it to the top. My fourth strength is restorative which is a talent that helps me to deal with any problems that may arise and ensure that things continue going according to plan. This strength means that I can endure and overcome any adversity that comes my way. My last strength is achiever. This is a strength that helps me to work hard and always be productive. Being an achiever maintains my ability to always keep going and to constantly feel the need to be productive.
According to the SAPA Project Personality Test, my highest or greatest strength is Integrity. Integrity is being able to be honest and having a strong moral value on life. I think that being or having the ability to be honest could go a long way. If you tell one lie, a person will never be able to trust you again. If they eventually do it will take a long time to believe in anything you say. Myself personally, I would rather for someone to be completely honest with me instead of lying to me. Once you have lied to me it takes awhile for me to trust in you again because now I do know when you are lying or being honest. In the workplace it is very important to be honest with your coworkers. Being dishonest with someone that works with you can
One strength I saw myself, as having when I enter college is being able to understand and critical think about a essay/article that I have read. However, after taking English 101, I have now learned that this is a strength of mine as well as a weakness.
Another strength that I have is being an active listener. I listened to my clients and utilized a lot of micro skills. Insuring confidentiality was also a strength that I developed closer to the end of field placement. Conducting assessments and making sure I tracked and exhausted the topics was also a strength that I identified throughout field. Practicing from a strengths perspective was also another area I excelled at when working with my clients. A skill that I could work on is being more conscious of self in terms of body language during interviews, because at times I find myself with my arms cross which may give an indication that I’m closed off or
I gave this paper a lot of thought before I began to write. ?What qualities and traits do I posses that make me desirable as an employee, a teammate, and as a person?? First, you must be able to identify your own personal strengths and weaknesses in order to become a lifelong learner and an essential part of a ?team?. As technology is constantly growing you have to be willing to accept what makes you an asset or a liability in any given situation you may encounter in your life. The qualities and traits that I feel make me a valuable entity to my employers, co-workers, classmates and within my personal relationships are varied. I will go on to describe some of the attributes I think are most important in establishing and maintaining successful relationships whether personal or work related.
Leaders can have a powerful impact on the futures of many, and the way in which one approaches leadership is paramount to the type of impact one will have. Continual growth in the areas of knowledge I have and seek to acquire, as well as recognizing my leadership style and utilizing my personal strengths to the fullest, is vital to the successful implementation of my personal philosophy of leadership.
As I stated earlier, loyalty is one of my top values, and I believe that if I am a loyal leader many people will trust me and develop their leadership attributes. Along with loyalty comes relationships. To me, the two go hand in hand. It is nearly impossible to have a healthy relationship when someone is not being loyal. I believe my greatest opportunity to be loyal and successful is to utilize my leadership ability to fulfill my potential. I plan to use the strengths I discovered from StrengthsFinder 2.0 to navigate my values down whichever path I decide to choose for the remainder of my college career, and any post-graduation occupation. I believe that my top strength, harmony, will continue to affect the way I make relationships. Harmony has been an extremely large part of my life and I intend to rely on it throughout my life. I know that my second strength, adaptability, will give me the tools to encounter anything that life throws at me. I understand that things are not always going to go the way you intend. Having the ability to adjust my thought processes is just one way adaptability will make a difference in my life. I believe that my third strength, WOO, will help me to build relationships and expand my network no matter how old I am. Being able to relate and connect with others is something I strive to do in my daily life. My fourth strength, communication, goes hand in hand with WOO.
My flexibility is certainly one of my greatest strengths. I can easily move between different working styles, depending on the scenario. I have no problem trying a new idea or concept out before deciding on a final direction. I am continually exploring different options. Being a “people-person” is one of my other strengths. My excellent interpersonal skills allow for me to bring ideas, thoughts and people together. I generate enthusiasm and excitement into tasks. I feel comfortable and confident talking to others about anything that I have knowledge of.
My top five strengths include relator, adaptability, strategic, competition, and focus. When getting the results back from my Gallup strengths report I couldn’t believe how well it described me. First is relator, because of my strengths I have friends that come to me for guidance, suggestions, or recommendations. By my talents, I occasionally feel pleased when friends seek my counsel. Even being asked for guidance uplifts me. I feel really good about life when I give myself credit for reducing difficult-to-understand ideas. I grasp the concept of “less is more” better than some people do. Chances are good that I sometimes identify with people who share their ambitions, hopes, or intentions. By nature, I make sure that I am measuring up to
Compared to my competitors, my strengths are my languages, technology skills, education, work ethic and the ability to follow directions. My fifth strength is Belief. This means that I possess core values and I am family-oriented, altruistic, spiritual, and value responsibility and high ethics (Gallup, 2010). I believe that I developed this strength while going to church and going through different situation in my personal life. I constantly utilize this strength when giving advice and ministering the word of God to those who need it.
One of my greatest strengths at work that I have recognized would have to be my ability to be a well-organized individual. I tend to write what I have to do down on paper and prioritize what is more important to least important. In doing this, it helps me organize and accomplish my work and meet deadlines that are important. A personal strength that I have at home is patience. I am a mother of a beautiful three year old little girl who is a handful. Patience is my greatest strength as a parent and individual which I possess especially being a single mother. I am a dedicated and hard working mother and I always make sure that my daughter gets the love and attention she needs.
