My name is Haemin Oh. I was reminded the value of education in hard way during my high school years. Until my second semester of the junior year, I thought my grades would be decent even if I ditched classes and did not try my best. However, I realized that I was wrong when I got my grade report and saw how poor my grades were. I only relied on the extra credits and did not think of working hard in the first place. As a result, my grade was on the verge of failing and I felt devastated by the fact that if I have tried harder, all the Cs that I got would have been Bs and As. Although, I never regretted on making those choices during my junior year because I learned the fact that the choices I make now actually affect my future and that I must be responsible in what choices I am making.

The reason why I need the scholarship is that the career path I have chosen takes a lot of time and money. I want to become a veterinarian, and it will tough for me to obtain this goal without the help of scholarship. Even if the amount of scholarship is very small, it takes a significant part of my education. …show more content…

I have been a member of the marching band since my freshman year, and I was accepted to be in a wind symphony in my sophomore year. In my senior year, I have participated the most as I took a roll of section leader and the solo player. I have dedicated myself to my section and helped the section members to enjoy marching band and have great shows. I have also used my personal time to improve on my solo as the solo played a big part on how impactful the show can be. I have also volunteered in the FoundAnimals as I was interested in taking care of stray dogs and cats and for my dream of becoming a veterinarian. Volunteering in that industry helped me a lot to understand how animals are taken care of and encouraged me to work hard to become a veterinarian one
