The Ultimate Career Goal: I am extremely passionate about marine and wildlife ecosystems and all their inhabitants and have a desire to work in a career that allows me to work closely within these ecosystems as well as allowing myself to educate those that surround me about the importance of science. My ultimate career goal is to work as a laboratory and field technician for a reputable company or organisation. Career Goal Time Frame: Creating a career action plan is more likely going to increase the likelihood of me achieving my ultimate career goal. I have assured I have used SMART goals to ensure I am motivated and responsible to take this plan into action. Time-based If new opportunities arise, this action plan can be revised and updated. In 12 months time: I aim to have graduated from the Bachelor of Science Degree (Majoring in Marine and Wildlife Biology), as well as have completed my diving and boating qualifications. In addition to this, I aim to be employed on a casual basis within an environment-related career, such as an aquarist to allow me develop my animal identification skills. My “plan B” is to have graduated from the Bachelor of Science Degree (Majoring in Marine and Wildlife Biology), and to enrol in a Graduate Diploma of Secondary Education at Griffith University to create an alternative career path that I may be interested in further down my career. In 2 years time: Whilst working casually in an environment-related career, I aim to have begun networking. This will allow me to establish relationships with other people that may be able to help advance my career. As well as this, I aim to be move skilled in my animal surveying techniques and have increased knowledge of animal ecology and identification. My “plan B” is to have graduated from a Graduate Diploma of Secondary Education and be involved in an overseas environmental volunteering role with an organisation such as Global Work and Travel. This will allow me to expand my network, help practice and perfect my skills as well as allow me to learn new ones, and allow me to test my skills in my preferred scientific sector. In 3 years time: I aim to increase my understanding within the environmental industry and remain up-to-date with all current environmental issues and research via journal and research articles and magazines. This will allow me to understand and contribute to conversations regarding current and emerging issues. In addition to this, I aim to have learnt or be learning another language. By achieving these two aims, it will allow me to stand out from the crowd during any near future career opportunities. My “plan B” is to be employed casually in an environmental job whilst being enrolled in a Master of Education postgraduate degree.
Obtaining a Master’s will advance and enrich my teaching degree and establish myself as an expert teacher whilst increasing my job opportunities. Not only this, it will prepare me to be the best teacher I can possibly be, thus ensuring my students benefit from my teaching, learning the most that they can from me. In 4 years time: I aim to be attending interviews in order to achieve my ultimate goal. During this year, I’ll be researching companies and working on my elevator pitch to ensure I am prepared before entering an interview of the chosen companies I have applied for. My “plan B” is to be preparing myself for High School Science Teacher positions with reputable Queensland High Schools. In 5 years time: I aim to have landed a laboratory and field technician role in a reputable company such as the Australian Institute of Marine Science. Or be working in a role such as a field scientist for a company such as Blue Ventures that will allow me to work along side and guide volunteers, while allowing me to educate them on the importance of marine ecosystems. I also aim to have published a paper based on the work I am doing at that particular time. My “plan B” is to be working as a high school science teacher educating generations about the importance of science in our lives, especially that of marine and wildlife biology and the impact that their decline can play in our
lives. Skills Required for my Ultimate Goal: Whilst reflecting on the skills that are required to ensure I am successful as a laboratory and field technician, I have come to realise I already demonstrate strongly a number of these attributes, whilst there are some areas of weakness that need development. To be employed by the AIS, they require employers to be able to carry out basic routine maintenance and performance checks on field and laboratory equipment and enter raw data into computer spreadsheets. These skills have been taught to students at Griffith University since their first year, providing me with enough experience (3 years) to undertake these tasks confidently and unsupervised. A skill that is currently undeveloped, but is imperative is that of being able to analyse and interpret data. To build upon this skill I plan on watching online tutorials and getting guidance from my mentors. Skill Analysis: Listed below are my skills that have been categorised into those that have been developed and those that I am yet to develop.
...ms within. I grew up on the lake, so water will and has always been a part of my life. I go to the beach almost every year, so I am frequently involved with the ocean life as well. My dad is a fisherman; he has been to many places and shown me many unique animals he has caught. I feel that it would be the most interesting job to have because there is a huge ocean to explore. Another awesome part of the job would be the idea of always learning new things about the fish. It would never turn into that job that has the same old routine because discoveries are still being made. The only down side to being a marine biologist is constantly smelling like a fish and dealing with the rather large fish that could endanger my life. But every job is going to have a down side, if these two are the only downsides to having this job, then I would have no problem conquering my fear.
The following career I have chosen describes who I am, where I want to go, and what I want to accomplish in the near future.
With the chance to experience policy, and field research, I am hoping to narrow down the idea of what I want to do after graduation, or what to tailor the rest of my courses at Bowdoin to. I also expect to gain experience with different oceanographic instruments. My Bowdoin ocean courses can only supplement class time with small cruises up different estuaries around coastal Maine. A larger boat experience with larger oceanographic instruments and possibly larger datasets would better prepare me for research. Furthermore, I expect to become more independent as a result of this program, and confident in my research capabilities and
In 2012 nearly 205,000 people were employed as a physical therapist in the United States. The average salary of a physical therapist in 2012 was $79,860 per year. The number of jobs is estimated to grow 36% from 2012-2022. This job of physical therapy involves many and very important tasks to fulfill the needs of their patients. It requires many different educational requirements and you must have strong people skills.
The career I want to pursue when I go to college is in marine science. This career sparks my interests and fits my character style. As a child, I was intrigued by stories that took place in the ocean or along the beach. Sea creatures and indigenous areas always left me wanting to learn more. Even though natural disasters were devastating, they caught my attention too. The college I selected is the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) I found it to be an affordable college choice and have the most academic advantages in my career choice to become a Marine Biologist. Although I have not participated in many marine aquatic activities, I still chose to research the career path to becoming a Marine Biologist.

I have always wondered what my future career would be.I experienced many things during my days in school and at home.My experiences helped me realize that I should become an animal caretaker.Becoming an animal caretaker would mean that I could spend my time working and interacting with animals.I would need to be able to care for living creatures, have the right education, and withstand the disadvantages.
that I wanted to pursue a career in the medical field but I was not sure
I would like to be a marine biologist because not much of the ocean has been explored. If I could explore at least 1% of what has not been seen, I would be satisfied. I would like to be a marine biologist so that I can discover new species of marine life. Some marine biologists have found evidence of enormous squids, but have never seen their entir...
The career action plan that I outlined provides a strategy that will help to steer the chosen career in the right direction by offering assistance in managing the path of my career. Also, it can assist with the skills and knowledge for the job, and how to go by reaching them. The outline helps to identify the strengths and weaknesses, so I can work towards making those improvements that need development to better the career. Another benefit of using this action plan will help create milestones and timelines, which are required for developing skills before success. Also, it will help to contribute identifying other options as progressing during this
I think still getting the zoo experience, would be great, to say that I have done that, but I think right now my main focus is going to be rehabilitation. I also have been considering looking into a vet tech job, to get more of the medical side of rehabilitation, and to get me more experience administering medications, and handing injured animals, right now I think a canine and feline veterinarian office would be good, with eventually moving forward to exotics, and bigger mammals like cattle etc. I feel I am most helpful, and most rewarding where I can help rehabilitation injured wildlife to return them back to their natural habitat, along with education the community about ways they can help in their own backyard, I think that is also a major part to rehabilitation Is making the community aware of what can be done to avoid injuries to wildlife.
As a volunteer in the Marine Mammal Department at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium I now have experience from my duties in the following areas: diet preparation, maintaining exhibits, providing enrichment and mental stimulation to the resident animals, keeping behavioral records, and educating
What is my personal purpose? Is a question that I have never thought to ask myself until recently. Then when I started learning more about a personal purpose I started wondering if I have one and what it was. I never thought of myself has having a real purpose until a watched an interview Will Smith had did and he had said “When your life means something to someone other than yourself than you have a purpose.” That is when I realized that I have a purpose. My purpose is that I am the hug that let others know it is going to be ok. My personal goals is to be genuinely happy with myself and life and to make my parents proud, my career goal is to own my own business and being successful at doing so, finally, my educational goal is to get my bachelors degree and grauate with honors and even moving on to getting my masters. Having goals is important to me because I know that while I am in the process of accomplishing them I will have something great to look forward to in the end.
