I am almost always surrounded by the interactions between children and their parents. I hear it at my work, I hear it in restaurants, but most of all I hear it at my house. My mother owns a daycare and every night I hear parents being hit by a barrage of questions. When children are being picked up they always have a couple of questions for their parents. Children are always asking about the meal for the night or whether they can go over to a friend?s house or have some body over. Every night I see 12 different children with twelve different parents and it seems that each parent acts differently then the next.

The Child Development Center of College of San Mateo provides early care and educational programs for children between the ages of 3 to 5 years old. Children are divided into classrooms with a “master” teacher, a “regular” teacher, and two or three “associate” teachers. Klara attended Classroom, “A,” a stimulating and well-resourced classroom. Klara was observed for two hours on Monday from 9 am to 11 am and for two hours on Wednesday from 9 am to 11 am. During these two hours, classroom activities consisted of “free time,” “story time,” and an outside “play time.” A “master” teacher, a “regular” teacher, and two “associate” teachers were present during observations. Additionally, a total of eighteen children were in attendance during the observed days.
For less than two hours, I observed the grandson of a visitor at my aunt’s home.
When I entered the toddler classroom at the Children’s ministry, the first detail that I noticed was the great effort for security and protection for every child that was dropped off. Every individual in the classroom were required to wear badges to indicate that they were safe to work with the children. Once I walked into the main room where the children were being cared for I noticed that there were a great verity of temperaments displayed by the children. Some children appeared to be “easy” (not crying or being fussy), and were playing with the toys. The environment in which an infant is raise, has to do a lot with his/her development. I was surprise by this observation because there were different personalities. Loui was the child who interact more with the students in the classroom. Also, he was surprise of the things that he was able to do by using his gross motor skills. Charlotte imitate the behavior with the toys that were in the classroom. On the other hand, Benjamin was insecure child that needed to be near his mom/dad. I learned many things from this activity. I was able to understand the concepts because I related to the observation. This will help me in my future

From my personal experiences, I have to come to the conclusion that it doesn't always work the way I believe when observing a child. I strongly feel that in order to get to know a child you should not spend most of your time observing him/her. Interacting with the child gives off better results. Not once or twice, this should be a consistent thing.
Plan for when and where observations will be conducted. Observation will take place at the child’s home with another child and then with parents, out in public that allows interaction with different children, at a family event with a larger group of children and caregivers. These observations will be conducted at different times of the day to allow a variety of interactions and non-repetitive interactions, different times of the day can affect how tired the child is, whether the child interacts better in the morning first thing or the afternoon and how it affects her emotional mood. These different observation locations allow the child to be observed in different situations with one on one play, interactions with adults, interacting with groups of children in new environments and to see how well the child relates to other

The environment I observed seemed to be very put together and organized. The staff responsible for each age group all had great communication with each other. They had great communication with the parents also. They kept a chart of each individual everyday keeping track of when they ate and if they had any positive/negative occurrences. For infants, they also keep track of when they were changed. The room I first observed was very inviting. The teachers had good attitudes, and they really seemed to care for the kids. The room had soft mats on the floor to help cushion the fall if the infants fell. The teachers were very aware of the what the kids were doing at all times to make sure they did not get into anything they were not supposed to. I loved how the staff interacted with the kids. They would sing and make train noises to them while changing them.
For 12 weeks I observed a young pre-schooler Child C aged 31/2 years old, through my account I would give an observer’s view of Child C, three theories peculiar to Child C and my the emotions evoked in me as an observer. My observation assisted in my understanding of the changes in Child C as the week progressed over the 12 weeks.
The child I observed was born on February 21st, so the baby that I observed is just weeks old. The baby is white and a male. The baby is a friend’s child and I observed him in the living room of their home and in his personal bedroom while he was in his crib. There was two couches in the living room, a television, two end tables, and a big sectional rug which was where the child was most of the time. There was 4 adults. The mom, the dad, my mom, and I. There were no other children in the house at this time.
This essay seeks to evaluate a diverse parenting approach through parent-child observation. By observing developmentally appropriate and inappropriate interactions with the parent and child, I will learn how parents teach, guide, and influence their children. First, I will briefly describe basic information about the child and parent that I have observed. Next I will discuss the parent experience with transitioning to Parenthood. Throughout the essay, I will be discussing the parenting goals and beliefs, parenting challenges, and reflecting on parenting from the parent perspective.
I did my parent-child observation at a restaurant in Batesville Indiana. I went to a small family owned place called Wagner’s. I did my observation over Thanksgiving break after my family cut our Christmas tree down. This occurred on Saturday November 28th around 6pm. This is a place that I am relatively familiar with. I have been going there with my family every year since I was a young child. It is a pretty small restaurant. While one side has a bar, the other side is more family oriented. It is a child friendly place that has a small area that toddlers and young kids can play. It has coloring books and small toys.
The relationship between parents and their children is one of the most basic human interactions. Mothers and daughters provide both physical and emotional care for their young sons and daughters. In the process, parents will instill children with family values and goals, while teaching them the accepted norms and values of society. This is done in hope that parents will one day see their own children become mature adults, with their own goals and purposes in life.
