Carnegie Mellon University, ranked in the top five universities for Computer Science, is a global research university and has been a birthplace of innovation since its founding in 1900. The Carnegie Mellon School of Computer Science is known for world class faculties, mentoring, and hands on experience. Having such a rich history and very strong alumni network compels me to apply to Carnegie as I want to be a part of that alumni and want to achieve as much as they have. I am keen to study Computing courses offered in Carnegie that provide interdisciplinary interests bridging technology and creative practices, teamwork opportunities, technical rigor, and enormous opportunities for research which will be helpful for my lifelong growth. As the undergraduate major in Computer Science combines a solid core of Computer Science courses with the ability to gain substantial depth in other areas via a required minor in a second subject such as Human Computer or Robotics and offers unparalleled flexibility, I am certain that there will be no hindrance between me and my goal. Through the Mathematics and Probability Component of the university, I will have the tools to remain current as technologies and systems change, but at the same time gain insight into the practical issues of building and maintaining systems by participating in intensive project-oriented courses. I will certainly benefit from the world-renowned faculty members, with the low student-faculty ratio of just thirteen to one, who keep their office doors open to encourage informal meetings with students. Associating with professors, who are hands-on educators in the classroom and work directly with students in the lab, will acquaint me with the opportunities and rewards available to practicing computer scientists. I can participate in cutting-edge research projects even as an undergraduate and gain valuable experience through unique out of classroom opportunities such as part-time or summer jobs in addition to the various hands-on programs in the university to enhance my skills in the
