My strong curiosity towards the field of Cybersecurity dates back to my pre-university days when I started reading sci-fi novels. Digital Fortress, a techno-thriller novel written by Dan Brown, explored the theme of government surveillance, security and civil liberties. This theme is brought out in the book by portraying cryptographic techniques, security policies and implications of these policies. This gravitated me towards the field of security. With little programming experience, I was eager to begin my nascent adventure in the field of Cybersecurity. Although I’ve gained exposure in the field of security during the course of my Bachelor’s degree, I believe pursuing a master’s degree in Cybersecurity will allow me to explore the field of security in greater depth and utilize it effectively to address more real-world challenges.
My exposure to the technicalities of Cybersecurity began during the first semester of my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences. I decided to enroll in a course titled CISE L1( Certified Internet Security Expert Level 1) on Ethical Hacking and Internet Security which turned out to be an insightful experience involving cyber attacks and their countermeasures. The implementation lab in this course included gaining hands-on experience in tools like ProRat for Remote Administration, OphCrack to retrieve lost passwords, Cain & Able for ARP Poisoning and IP snooping, TrueCrypt for data encryption and Acunetix for Penetration Testing and auditing. Also, complex attacks like SQL Injections, DDos Attacks and hacking WPA networks were conducted in real-time scenarios. This experience has also further confirmed my strong suspicion that continuing my study of Cybersecurity in a graduate program is the right choice...

In conclusion, I believe that I have the required zeal to progress my knowledge further at the University of Southern California. My decision to focus on Cybersecurity over the years, has equipped me with a unique set of strengths that I can put to use in the program. Being an International student, I hope to contribute to the already existing multiethnic and multiracial society at your esteemed institution. After I earn my master's degree, I intend to start work on my Ph.D. in Computer Science. I see Ph. D as a professional stepping stone that would help me work in the area of research and development for the Government of India. It is in R & D that I believe, I can make the greatest contribution, utilizing my theoretical background and creativity as a scientist.

I am making an application to your school for a chance to earn an MBA in Information Systems Technology so that I can be an industrious team player in the nowadays business world. Accordingly, a successful career in this course will aid me in shaping the future of associations and industries all over the world. One of the major objectives which motivate me to pursue this course is an aptitude to utilize the techniques, dexterities, as well as modern engineering apparatus required for engineering practice. My second objective is to gain the aptitude of applying understanding of mathematics, science, as well as engineering. Thirdly, I am seeking the ability to design and carry out experimentations, in addition to evaluating and deducing data. My final objective is the capability to devise a system, constituent, or procedure to meet preferred wants within practical constrictions like financial, ecological, societal, political, ethical, fitness and security, manufacturability, as well as sustainability.
I am very thankful for providing me with this opportunity and it is with sincere sense of gratification that I pen down my brief statement of purpose. Striving for betterment and improvement has been my motto in all aspects of life, and the same applies even to my professional and academic career. Getting to know what goes inside computers, the engines of the Information Technology revolution, and knowing how to work with them enables one to understand the technology that makes it all possible. Understanding this, I chose to do my undergraduate studies in Information Technology. While reasoning my intentions to pursue MS in Computer Science at your esteemed university, I would like to throw some light on my career till now.
This perfectly holds true for me in the world of Computer Engineering where novel ideas are not a novelty. It is this novelty that entices me to this field and gives me a deep sense of professional pride. In this context, I would like to pursue my graduation in Computer Engineering, which not only supplements the knowledge that I possess but also provides a strong platform for my future career goals.
The world is in another cold war, except this time countries are battling for cyber supremacy. Cyberspace is a massive land of ever-changing technology and personal interaction (McGuffin and Mitchell 1). Cyberspace is not only a place where people post pictures and update their profile, but it also plays an enormous role in running a country. Advanced countries use computers to guide their military, keep track of citizens, run their power grids, and hold plans for nuclear devices and nuclear power. Risks to commercial and government concerns are now being noticed and many countries are taking actions to prevent such threats (McGuffin and Mitchell 1).
Today, we are not just at the threshold of a new world but much deeper into it; we have been living and witnessing the materialization of change through developing technologies. The technologies used for telecommunications have changed greatly over the last 50 years. These changes are central to the foundation of the 21st century, are continuously evolving providing potential for newer ways of changing our world and making it a better place to live in. The field of telecommunications has always fascinated me, the way it dwarves the vastness of the world or how it has helped people connect with each other. Having pursued Electronics and Communication at my undergraduate level further propelled my passion for telecommunications along with providing me a deeper insight and in-depth understanding of the subject. I believe that a proper master’s degree will help me realize the true potential of telecommunications and help realize my aspirations.
I am a person who has always had a profound passion and fascination for areas requiring an analytical approach. Right from early days at school, Mathematics has intrigued me. The most challenging of all problems were my favorites and obtaining solutions to them would leave me with a sheer feeling of ecstasy. I always did and always would thrive on solving the most challenging problems. With a compelling desire to excel, hard work became my second nature. My aspiration for a technical career prompted me to take up one of the most coveted undergraduate program in Computer Engineering at SR Engineering College, the best of such institutions. My own systematic & methodical towards finding a solution to any problem best suits this field.
With so many dangers that confront the United States, it is impossible to know all type of attacks that can happen in the cyber world. There can be combinations of not only known but also unknown vulnerabilities and attacks that makes it hard for the United States to protect its self and there classified information. “We face nation states, terrorist networks, organized criminal groups, individuals, and other cyber actors with varying combinations of a...
