If you haven't started your blog, keep reading. I highly recommend that you start your blog on Wordpress on your own domain, not through Wordpress.com. It costs under $10 per month if you host through Host Gator. You can set your blog up quickly and easily using their 1 click Wordpress set up. It takes about 10 minutes and you have your very own hosted website. Why do I suggest this? Because if you're serious about blogging and you're interested in earning any money through your blog, you'll want this at some point. You might as well do it right out of the gate. This way, you don't lose visitors if you switch to your own domain name. You also don't have to learn all the code for redirecting traffic or all that nonsense. Take it from me, you WANT your own domain name right away.

Web. The Web. The Web. 24 Nov. 2015. “Homepage Points Of Pride.”
The first media text I chose to create for my portfolio is a blog post because there is no specific instruction to follow as I’m am able to write in my own personal opinion. Writing a blog post allows me to be more creative with my ideas to add in my response. Also I’ve wrote tons of blog post over the course of this semester, so I’ve learned what to have in my post making

People have all different kinds of values, wants, needs, long-term goals, and short-term goals. Their differences come from many places such as religion or age. These differences are what makes each individuals values, wants, and needs make them unique to each person individually. My values, wants, needs, long-term, and short-term goals are all unique to myself.
Blogging can be defined as the process of creating, maintaining, and updating a web journal (web log) and the consequences of the process. It involves reading, writing, more reading, commenting, and other technical aspects of maintaining a blog. Individuals blog for several reasons. One of the most popular reasons is to easily publish and get readers for the his/her writings. There is no pestering editor, and there is no screening process. Anything (s)he needs to convey can be published into the blogosphere with the click of a button, and could reach out to millions of readers. A few other people say that they blog because they "just love to blog/write".
There are Christians all over the world engaged in web writing, especially blogging. Nearly five weeks ago, I started a blog and began to create and write content for it. I’ve acquired many new skills, as a web writer, since beginning my journey. So far, the greatest blessing is the community of bloggers that I have met through various means. There are so many resources for Christian bloggers that provide encouragement and instruction, to keep us focused on God’s purpose for our blogs, e-books, and social media outlets. Proverbs 11:14 says, “Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety.” If we stay connected with other Christian bloggers and have fellowship with them, we will learn from each other and only become better at creating content that glorifies
The web has spurred communities exclusive to nerds. "News for nerds. Stuff that matters," reads the slogan of popular blog Slashdot. This blog, which receives 5.5 million visits a month, reports on “Linux, Technology, Games, Apple, and Science”. Voted on Yahoo in 2001 as the “Best Geek Hangout,” it has truly created a community for nerds to discuss their interests. As a result, the site sees active participation from its readers who discuss with others around the world with similar interests. These virtual conversations provide an outlet for visitors to express interests that they wouldn’t otherwise have been able to. Unlike other popular blogs, Slashdot publishes user submitted content alongside editor created. Because the minimum threshold of knowledge needed to contribute to the d...
You may have heard of the 80/20 rule – the basic principle has been recognized as a viable concept since its inception more than a century ago. In modern times, it’s been appropriated for its relevancy to a broad range of industries and personal objectives, from economics to business management to better relationships to weight loss. You can certainly apply the 80/20 principle to blogging – and if you do, you may very well discover a way to efficiently reorganize your time and efforts as a blogger.
The single author weblog is an ideal format for creating a sense of individual presence on the Web. It allows its author to build up over time an archive of thoughts and writings; when regularly updated, it gives its readers a strong sense of the author’s presence. (p.
It’s fairly easy to get a blog up and running. As you explore Tumblr you will get a hang on how everything runs. Being a friendly place has helped a lot of people feel welcomed and even saved a few lives with its uplifting beat. Tumblr is a place where you can feel at ease and not judged by what you like or what you do. Tumblr is a place where friends grow and new ones are made. It’s a place where you can share your version of the story and have a good laugh. Tumblr is safe place to call home.

Since the introduction of internet in the 1990’s, its importance worldwide has always grown tremendously. From the first email send to the domination of Facebook and other social media websites, it has changed the way people communicate. The use of social media is increasingly becoming the preferred way people share their daily activities, ideas and knowledge and that is why it’s the most talked about and used platform. Many companies are encouraging their employees to use various social media platforms and engage online for office productivity, posting opinions and presenting their thoughts. Corporations realize that Social Media tools such as blogs, forums, podcasts and social networking websites makes internal communications faster, more convenient and effective. Social media is a low-cost, high-impact tool that can also complement and reinforce your existing communications efforts. It gives a new dimension to internal communications in many ways: building relationship with employees, leads to diverse thinking and innovation, and reduce costs and Increase Productivity. Social media has impacted positively in the business world, but its downside has impacted teens in high school, with issues such as cyber bullying, and people using Facebook and twitter to get over their boredom and research proving that the more they use social networking websites the more envious they feel.
Social Networking is a modern and the easiest way to Communicate Online. It has revolutionized the way we communicate over large distances. We can get into contact immediately with Family, Friends, and other people from around the globe using any of the modern Communication mediums such as a Mobile Device or a Computer. There are many possible ways of Social Networking. You can use Social Networking Websites, Blogging, IMs (Instant Messengers), Chatrooms, and Dating Sites to get connected to people.

Technology has been and will continue to be an essential part of human life. Information technology is a revolution that has taken the whole world captive. Everyone around the globe is trying either to conform or catch up with the ever changing and improving technologies without having a second thought of its impact on their lives. The internet is the ground-breaking invention of the twenty first century, leading to the mushrooming of the social media and other communication platforms. The best invention that has captured my interest is the instagram. Its effect and how it has positively impacted on the lives of people, especially the youth cannot be underestimated. Instagram is improving the quality life. It has unlocked our creativity, enhanced connection and led to faster access to information. Comparing the past with the present, we can argue that information technology has done more good than harm and even as we progress into the future, we ought to adopt better technology because what we currently have may not be good enough.
