Attended PLC Guiding Coalition meeting.
The purpose of the meeting was to revisit what we believed a PLC was and come up with a plan on how to reenergize the rest of the staff. It was interesting to listen to everyone's opinions. From this meeting, I learned the importance of taking time to reflect/evaluate how new projects/changes are going and determine if adjustments need to be made.

Sharing leadership and collaboration has transformed the role. This was obvious when collaborating with the math interventionist. I was not able to visualize a schedule that could support a few kindergarten students needs in both reading and math, but by working with the math interventionist she was able to come up with a schedule that works. Effective collaboration will help me be more successful as a administrator.

Assisted in ensuring all students evacuated the building during an unscheduled fire alarm at lunch time.
This was unexpected and helped me experience the quick decision a principal might need to make to ensure safety.

Met with a student to discuss consequences another teacher set for his actions in the bathroom.
The students was upset because he did not think he should be punished for the noise in the bathroom. When coming to me, the teacher had already given him a consequence. I reviewed the bathroom expectation with the students and explained that in the future a better choice would be removing yourself for the situation. In the future, I will need to support my teachers decision and help repair student teacher …show more content…

I believe that decisions have to be made to best help all students learn and can vary depending on the situation. As an administrator, I will be in situation like this one where I will have to remove a student from the classroom so that others can learn. In learning from this situation, once the student is calm, I feel it is important to have the student complete a portion of the task that had been asked of him before letting them return to the classroom. I need to help the teacher maintain their control so that in the future the child will realize that refusing to complete the task will not get them out of the
