Imagine yourself in a place with brick phones, slow computers, and typewriters. This may be hard to picture but it was a reality back than. Now a days we have all sorts of technologies that help us examine and explore everything around us. The thing is, which one would be the most advanced for researchers and explorers to use today? After reading Florida Waters Treasure Hunters, Weather Reconnaissance, and Search for Ancient Civilizations, the sattelite would be the most advanced technology researchers and explorers would use today.
The first technology was known as the Mailbox . It may seem like a unrealistic name but it was acually a real thing. It was first created by a man named Mel Fisher, the mailbox is a tube made out of metal and has a angle of 90 degrees. This machine sends jets down to the ocean floor which moves the sand away. This wasn't as much of a advancement as the sattelite because it was a heavy load to carry around with you and if you have a small boat it was be dragging you down. My evidence to support my answer is on paragraph 8 in, "Florida Waters Treasure Hunters" it states, "A mailbox is a large metal tube that is bent 90 degrees, like a elbow. The tube has a diameter several inches larger than the width of the boats propellers." This exemplifies

that the satellite would be more advanced because you don't have to worry about it "falling" or touching it. The next technology was the AT-6. This was a fighter plane desighned for two passengers and was the first plane to fly through a hurricane. This plane had a chance to make history if it made it through. Two people named O'Hair and Duchkworth decided to fly into a hurricane, even though a plane held their lives. This isn't a good thing for researchers and explorers to use today because it was to unstable. My evidence to support that is, underneath the picture of the two planes in " Weather Reconnaissance" it states, " the little plane was tossed all over like a toy" This demonstrates that the sattelite is the most advanced for explorers today because they are made of strong material, and are stable. The third technology was te Dropsade Hurricane Sensor. This included a GPS, sensors, a square-cone, and controls. What pilots do is they drop the sensor from high altitudes and collect data of the air conditions. This would not be the most advanced for researchers and explorers today because we have better weather readers that can tell us conditions right from the roof of a building. My evidence to support this is on paragraph 11 of, " Weather Reconnaissance it states, " by knowing about the conditions that a weather system will meet as it moves up the east coast. forecasters can more accuratley predict a nor'easter's impact." This shows that the satellite is more advanced for researchers and explorers today because, you don't have to fly up all the way in the air any more to check weather conditions, the satellite can do that. The next two technologies are the LIDAR and the GPR.
LIDAR stands for Light Detection And Ranging, which is used to mesure distances and was invented in 2009. GPR stands for Ground Penetrating Radar, which is used to create 3D data high above the ground. Even though it ties close with the satellite they they both still are electronical and could crash whenever. My evidence is that on paragraph 7 of " Search for Ancient civilizations" it states that, " Light Detection And Ranging is a remote sensing technique that uses pulsed laser to measure distances." This exemplifies that the satelite is the most advanced for explorers and researchers to uuse today because it's more reliable, and
sufficent. Now that I talked about all the reasons why it is not the other technologies lets talk about why it's the satellite. The satellite is the most advanced type of technoloy for researchers today because it provides visual help from orbiting planets to help guide you to whereever you need to go. A piece of evidence is on paragraph 1 in, " Search for Ancient Civilizations" it states, "At one time, secrets of ancient Egypt were found by trudging across scorching deserts on camels, guided by tattered maps. That approach is a thing of the past. Modern exlorers use satellites orbiting the planet about 400 miles above ground." This quote proves that satellies were the most advanced for researchers and explorers today. All in all, the satellite was the most sufficent and advanced type of technology for researchers to use today because it's care-free, can handle strong conditions, and most reliable out of all the other technologies. Remember that the next time you go on your computer.
There have been many inventions throughout history and some of them have been a lot more helpful than others. The GPS, the Pacemaker, and the cell phone are all very important innovations made to the new world. Without these modern day inventions a lot of thing and the way we interact would be different
“When technology is seen as a combination of devices, skills, and organizational structures, it becomes natural to think of it as a system.”
Gunpowder, the vaccine, blood transfusion, the telescope, surgery, the submarine, the barometer, the submarine, and the microscope are all great inventions that helped change the way people live today. They are some of many scientific inventions that changed the way of life for people.
The epic poem, Beowulf, a work of fiction, offers more insight into Ancient Anglo-Saxon English culture than the work of Bede, who wrote, A History of the English Church and People. The epic poem Beowulf gives an enhanced illustration and clearer understanding of the culture of the Ancient Anglo-Saxon’s. The epic poem gives the audience a picture of what the Ancient Anglo-Saxon English valued; seafaring, warriors, heroes, and paganism.
The Space Race improved our knowledge of space. When the United States successfully launched their first satellite, Explorer 1, on January 1, 1958, it carried a small payload that informed us on the magnetic radiation belts around the Earth (Garber). This gave us a small and raw amount of information but it gave us information to study. This also helped motivate us and our curiosity of space to get us to strive further and find more info. When the race started in 1957 following the successful launch of Sputnik, the US wanted to be a part of it and wanted to be better and wanted to prove it. With the launch of Explorer 1, they were able to prove that it was better than Sputnik because Explorer 1 actually provided us with information, whereas Sputnik just made a constant, meaningless beeping sound as it orbited our Earth. This h...
An argumentative essay persuades the audience or a reader to state an issue that gives some several valid and true reasons, where it can be supported by the evidence and make the audience to adopt a new belief or behavior. The argumentative essay can be also written in a MLA (Modern Language Association) or APA (American Psychological Association) format. It depends on what format you prefer. A good argumentative essay starts with a good topic where it can claim what the argumentative essay is about. It is important that topic need to have something that interests you as a writer and reader as an audience. Before writing an argumentative essay, you need to know that what kind of audience are you writing for. For example, if you are writing for a younger audience, you need to be careful about the language and sentences structure, which should be simple and short to understand. Likely, if you are writing for a highly educated audience, you need to provide
Technology has shaped America in many ways from developing complex computer systems available to the everyday people to being able to track weather patterns across the world. Without technology, we certainly would not be where we are today as a high tech society. A lot of this technology came from World War II. During World War II, the atomic bomb prevailed making it the most high tech weapon in history. Radar equipment was also produced, as well as medicines to prevent diseases, nutrition research, high horsepower jet engines to power aircraft, and the V-1 and V-2 rockets. Through all of this technology, World War II was known as the first high technology war.
What makes a good person good? According to WikiHow, "We should learn to define our own morals ourselves. One of the simplest ways to do so is to love others, and treat them as you would like to be treated. Try to think of others before yourself. Even doing small things daily will greatly enrich and improve your life, and the lives of others around you." This quote shows us what we need to do in order to be what society thinks as, “good". In order to be a good person, you have to do good and moral things in your society consistently. However people might think that by doing one good thing once in a while will automatically make you a “good person”, but in reality it doesn’t.
The Age of Exploration began as a result of new technologies that guided explorers during sea voyages. Explorers used many tools and technologies during The Age of Exploration, to explore and make discoveries. Technology and tools that explorers used, included, caravels, compasses, astrolabes, and even sponsors. A sponsor is a person who gives money for an undertaking, such as a voyage. A sponsor would also provide money for materials needed for the voyage, such as, caravels, and other necessities. A caravel is probably the most important material needed for a voyage. A caravel is a ship designed for long voyages. Caravels have both square sails, and triangular lateen sails. However, they each provided/allowed different things. Square sails provided power, when lateen sails allowed quick turns. The compass, a Chinese invention, allowed sailors to track their direction. On the other hand, an astrolabe, an ancient Greek invention, improvised by the Arabs, would measure the angle of the stars above the horizon. This would help sailors find their s...
Social media is a revolutionary way to connect to friends and family through a single app much like Facebook. Also allowing the public to be more informed on current events whether that would be an issue in today 's society all the way to a heartwarming story or a funny video. Although this sounds amazing and the fact that this type of news outlet is practically new. An issue arises that involves “fake news” and with that comes many opinions on what to do about it. I believe that people browsing these platforms should have a little bit of skepticism behind each story and if it the topic truly intrigues someone then they should look into the topic on a reliable resource before passing on the authors misinformation.
Modern technology has made information much easier to obtain. The Internet and World Wide Web have given people the ability to access all sorts of information very quickly and quite easily. This is an advantage for many people, especially in business. Scholars can quickly share information amongst each other to help them learn more about a topic for example. Students can learn more about anything they want simply by using a search engine such as Google to browse the web. In the last decade, we have witnessed an evolution of the Internet and the rise of social media. The Internet is still growing every day and only seems to be getting bigger and more complex.
Albert Einstein once said, “It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity.” This quote is fully representative of society today. It has distracted us from..... One second my best friend just texted me… Ok what was I saying?.. Oh right; It has distracted us from our studies, our loved ones, and even our driving. Technology is making us less intelligent, oblivious to our surroundings, and antisocial.
Nowadays people use technology from everything from business to education to entertainment and much more. Almost everything we do and every aspect of our lives is affected by modern technology. With all the advantages of technology it is not surprising that we rely on it for almost everything in our daily lives, but how much is too much? People’s over-use computers and other modern technology is causing vital skills to be lost as technology replaces traditional ways of doing things. We are losing communication skills, memorization skills, and ……..?????????. And with the loss of these skills, what happens when technology fails?
Imagine someone born in the early 1900’s entering a modern-day classroom. They would likely be confused as to what televisions, computers, cell phones, and other electronic devices are. It is also likely that they would be overwhelmed by the instant access to information that the internet provides. Digital media has become a large part of people’s everyday lives especially with the rise of digital media in classrooms. Digital media is growing so rapidly that people who are not adapting to this shift in culture are falling behind and becoming victims of the “digital divide”, this is leaving people misinformed. Digital media has a large effect on the way that people communicate, this is especially evident in the way that students interact with
To remain competitive and employable in the twenty-first century workplace, society today must conform to the changing demands. Technology is one of the principal driving forces of the future; it is transforming our lives and shaping our future at rates unprecedented in history, with profound implications, which we cannot even begin to see or understand.
