They will be able to maintain secrecy by outsourcing it to China where companies’ product lines are now produced. By having both hardware and software, Apple has a sustainable competitive advantage, because of the replication of software used in all their new and existing products. Other companies are lacking this component, and this is why Apple is the number one leader. Companies who are sharing their resources so they can cut costs allow capturing of economic of scales on their products. Companies can create value for the customer in different niches for this new product and keep sustainability for their entire line of products while not being able to be imitated. This new product would appeal to all walks of life, not just a few consumers. The company’s implementation of this new product will need to use porter’s five forces for manufacturing this product. Companies through their brand, who have a wide variety of markets, will have a consumer base for their products. When a new product is launched, naturally the consumer will want their brand’s product. Building this product will also allow them to maintain their carbon footprint on the environment.
