Overview of Myers-Briggs Personality Types
People with extraverted sensing feeling judging (ESFJ) personalities are known to be hard workers who value being in charge. One of the biggest strengths for ESFJs is the ability to recognize problems and delegate to resolve them. They are also known to play hard and find joy in entertaining others. Generally speaking ESFJs “wear their hearts on their sleeves” and therefore are easily wounded and have a difficult time controlling their emotions. While this trait is a weakness for many ESFJs it is also a strength as actors and actresses use this to express emotions through acting (Human Metrics Inc., 1998-2016).

Socialites at heart so they enjoy being around people and communicate well with others. They are loyal to both their employers and the people they care about, making them an honorable partner and friend (NERIS Analytics Limited, 2011). In addition, they are proficient at recognizing problems and delegating both qualities of a great leader.
Weaknesses for ESFJ’s are their emotions. Feelings are easily bruised, and once this happens they have difficulty controlling their emotions. Constructive criticism is not taken lightly and they are sensitive when someone is trying to help them. Placing a considerable amount of importance on what is socially acceptable results in the inability to step out of their comfort zone (NERIS Analytics Limited, 2011).
Steps ESFJ’s can take to improve when working within a group are accepting constructive criticism. Realizing we all have areas of opportunities and improving on our weaknesses only make us a better person and leader. Learning to control your emotions, is key to being successful. As a manager, the advantage of having your team take the test and knowing their results can help you understand how they perceive things and what causes them to act in certain ways (The Myers & Briggs Foundation, 2016). This can really help a manager understand an employee so they can work together to ensure they are the most productive. When your employees work to their fullest potential and are rewarded appropriately, you will have a fulfilled and loyal
Have you ever wondered why you react to situations in the manner to you do? Whether you are calm and collect, or rigid and boisterous, the way you react to life is linked to your personality. Many different models exist to determine your personality type using answers from a series of questions or selecting between two opposing options. The most popularly used assessment is the Myers-Briggs Indicator Type test, which is based off the foundation of C. G. Jung’s work on personality types. The typology in the Myers-Briggs Indicator Type test yields results that determine if the person is introverted (I) or extraverted (E), sensing (S) or intuitive (N), thinking (T) or feeling (F), and judging (J) or perceiving (P). Each of these types corresponds
INFJ (Introvert, Intuition, Feelings, Judgment) personality style, a person with this combination of letters will provide a basis for easy determination such an individual being an introvert (I) who relies on intuition (N), feelings (F) and makes judgments (J). Such an individual is an introvert who uses intuition, feelings and has his life oriented in an orderly manner. This kind of personality type is not common, only 1% of the population have it. These kind of individuals who possess this personality combination have an inborn sense of idealism and morality despite this the can remarkably leave a mark on the world. The judging aspect is their great personality trait as it is the main reason they are set apart. They make serious steps towards reaching and realizing their goals, which makes lasing positive impact. An individual with INFJ can be quiet spoken, work and fight tireless for an idea, use love and compassion in their
The Myers and Briggs Analysis is a series of questions that when answered are examined and grouped together in order to determine the personalities of those taking this test. This particular test can result in sixteen different outcomes or types of personalities, which is determined by four different categories that judge if you are introverted or extroverted, use your senses or your intuition, your choice to think or use your feelings, and finally if you are judgmental or perceptive. These series of questions are designed to judge our personalities and help us to determine which career pathways we will be most suited for based on our personality traits and abilities to work well with others, which is important for our future decisions.
People who have the ISFJ personality are generally exceptionally observant of everything around them. ISFJs can usually tell someone else’s emotional state, and if it is a terrible state, ISFJs try to be there for the person and try to support them. ISFJs are happy to comfort people and are excessively reliable when it comes to friends and family. ISFJ personality is also enthusiastic with their words and actions in front of loved ones. The imaginative side they hold also adds to their enthusiasm.
These types of personality assessments are useful because they can help us see how each of us are different and how we each fit into our roles and responsibilities. Life would not be nearly as functional if we were all the same, and personality assessments can be useful by showing us how we all can work together and see our strengths and weaknesses in a way that can help us improve them.
Throughout the beginning of this semester I have looked at how individuals behave within business organizations. Through various exercises and results, I have found a number of patterns within my behavior and interests. I have become aware what interests me, and a number of skills/abilities I was oblivious I had. This reflection and in class exercises has allowed me to expand my skills, abilities, and behaviors, well fitting them into prospective future employment.
Over several years, psychologist and other scholars have studied the personality types of a variety of people in many different environments. Much of the studies emphasize how different personalities effects humans within their daily lives. These personalities have been divided and revealed as Extravert or Introvert, Sensor or Intuitive, Thinking or Feeling, and Judging or Perceiving; all of which can be classified in sixteen different personality types. In this study you will find the personality of a woman whose dominant preferences are Extraverted, Sensing, Thinking, and Judging. This paper will further provide an understanding of how an ESTJ woman finds ways to understand one’s self and communicate better in her personal life and professional
The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) has recognized my profile as Introvert, Intuitive, Thinking and Judgment (INTJ). As an introvert, I can get nervous among other people. It does not pose a problem for an individual. On the other hand, in order to be an effective leader, it is important for me to keep a profound communicational relationship with my subordinates. Without proper communication skills, it is not possible to establish a functional relationship with my subordinates. This may jeopardize the success of any activity that we are involved in. The introvert part is perhaps the major barrier which may keep me away from being an effective leader.
In the next five subheadings, I will explain what it means for me to have a personality type that strongly prefers extraversion, sensing, feeling, and judging. I will also discuss the Sensing-Judging Temperament and how it explains my behaviors. "Good introductory paragraph
This is important to me because everywhere that I have worked I have been a natural leader. In addition, I have a clear vision of how things should be done and how things should operate. This is why I truly believe the principles of the Bible and apply those principles to my life (Fischer, Habakkuk 2:3 (ESV) states, “And the LORD answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.” Organizational behavior should be based upon true values and meaning (Fischer, ). I carry these values everywhere I go. At work, I let my employees know where we want to go as a group and how we will get there. In addition, I challenge them to try and do their best in everything that they do. The reason why I put so much emphasis in effort is because I believe in doing my best in everything that I do. I must agree there are some weaknesses that are attached with ESTJs. For example, I believe that much emphasis must be placed in the details. However, I try not to be overly detailed at times. In the midst of making decisions, at times it becomes difficult when others don’t want to focus on the details as much as I do. I must remember to include other people opinion and thoughts. Another weakness highlighted is the impatience with inefficiency and sloppiness and the difficulty in expressing feeling and emotions. I have tried to learn how to work with people who may work inefficiently and sloppy in certain areas. My current job has helped me in working better with people who I believe are sloppy or ineffective. One of the ways I have gotten better in this area is to have open communication with employees meaning employees can come to me if there are any issues or uncertainty regarding projects. In addition, I have learned to be honest with employees regarding work in efforts to help the employees improve professionally and
In terms of The Big Five Trait Theory, an individual with a high level of extraversion is thought to display dominant behaviour as well as good leadership skills. The individual focusses their psychic energy on things that are external...
The tests help to speed up the process of hiring new staff in businesses. My thoughts prior attempting psychometric tests have changed; I now think they are key when hiring new employees, as having the best employees will lead to a successful business. Having attempted the tests, I now know what I need to improve on to ensure I have the best chances of employability. There are a number of resource available which I can use to improve my test performance and by practising I will know exactly what to expect when applying for placements and graduate jobs in the near
One thing which can be difficult for me as an ENJF is that my interest in the welfare of others can lead me to become too involved in their problems and I am frequently more trusting than other personality types. This overly idealistic, selfless component of my personality can lead me to be caught off guard and spread myself too thin. Additionally, since I am so interested in the welfare of others when I become aware of areas for improvement in them or their performance I can start to believe that I suffer from the same deficiency leading me to try and fix a personality issue which doesn’t exist.
Personality tests tell a person a lot about why a person is who they have become. I believe that these test if taken truthfully can identify deficiencies that individuals can work on to benefit not only themselves but others in the organizations that they work in. Some models state that it is in human nature and chemicals that decided how a person acts but I believe it is based on life experiences and a personality can change as long as a person knows the deficiencies and works to change them.
Taking any type of personality test can lead to a lot of thought and reflection on yourself,
