Personality types stems from Carl Jung spend time observing personality preferences, which he later on published in his in 1921. Carl’s discovery of the two major typical differences in human psychology such as extrovert and introvert influenced Katherine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Myers theories and lead them to experiment during World War II. Myers and Briggs worked on methods that would help women, who heretofore had no prior workplace experience, find those types of jobs that were most comfortable and effective (Myers & Myers, 1996). The three learning styles I have chosen to write about would meet the needs of the learners and provide an effective learner/teacher experience. Therefore, the need for learning level in people varies at all levels, to make sure the delivery method meets the learners’ expectation, it is important to re-evaluate the styles of learning chosen and make sure all background …show more content…
INFJ (Introvert, Intuition, Feelings, Judgment) personality style, a person with this combination of letters will provide a basis for easy determination such an individual being an introvert (I) who relies on intuition (N), feelings (F) and makes judgments (J). Such an individual is an introvert who uses intuition, feelings and has his life oriented in an orderly manner. This kind of personality type is not common, only 1% of the population have it. These kind of individuals who possess this personality combination have an inborn sense of idealism and morality despite this the can remarkably leave a mark on the world. The judging aspect is their great personality trait as it is the main reason they are set apart. They make serious steps towards reaching and realizing their goals, which makes lasing positive impact. An individual with INFJ can be quiet spoken, work and fight tireless for an idea, use love and compassion in their
The novel Fifth Business written by Robertson Davies is about Dunstan Ramsay’s life. The novel begins from Parker’s newsletter that offends Dunstan and triggers him to write about his life to the headmaster. Davies uses Carl Jung’s archetypes to develop his novel Fifth Business which are the archetypal figures, archetypal hero’s journey, and fifth business.
Psychoanalysis is a theory that explores personality traits on the conscious and unconscious level. According to TheFreeDictionary.com, “Psychoanalysis is the most intensive form of an approach to treatment called psychodynamic therapy. Psychodynamic refers to a view of human personality that results from interactions between conscious and unconscious factors. The purpose of all forms of psychodynamic treatment is to bring unconscious mental material and processes into full consciousness so that the patient can gain more control over his or her life” (Psychoanalytic Treatment). Sigmund Freud is the founder of the Psychoanalysis Theory. He had many followers. One of those followers was Jung. As time went on, Jung’s perspective on personality
Having completed the Myers-Briggs Personality Test previously, I was identified as an INTP, which stands for introverted, intuitive, thinking, and perceiving. Accordingly, this personality is often labeled as “The Architect” or “The Logician.” Despite my previous results, I repeated the test as instructed in the assignment. Consequently, based on the outcome of the test, my personality has altered in the past year. Thus, my updated results based on this analysis were, INTJ (introverted, intuitive, thinking, and judging). However, the two personalities are similar, as only one trait seems to have varied. Therefore, instead of holding a characteristic grounded in perception, it would appear that I am inclined to mannerisms that indicate
The first letter of the INFJ personality type is Introversion. This signifies the source/direction of a person’s personal energy preference. This means you are energized by things within yourself, such as your ideas and thoughts. You don’t need to interact
The Swiss psychologist Carl Gustav Jung held the belief that archetypes served as models of personalities, people, and behaviour. He proposed that the psyche was made up of three (3) components: the ego (conscious mind), the personal unconscious (stores all memories, even suppressed ones), and the collective unconscious (contains all the knowledge and experiences shared by the human species).
Sigmund Freud was born on May 6, 1856, in Austria (?). His family moved to Vienna in 1860, and that is where Freud spent, mostly, the remainder of his life (?). Freud is considered the father of Psychoanalysis, the first acknowledged personality theory (?). His theory suggest that a person’s personality is controlled by their unconscious which is established in their early childhood. The psychoanalytic theory is made up of three different elements interacting to make up the human personality: the id, the ego, and the superego (?).
The Jung Personality Type Test is familiar to me as I have taken it before and know of its general premise. The test is popular in the business world but is heavily criticized by academics due to its low validity and reliability. I have taken the test several times and never received the same personality type twice. This does not mean that there have not been similarities in my results; on every test certain aspects of the results stay true and the percentages of specific personality traits stay within close range. The result of my Jung Test-- for this assignment-- classified my personality in the ENFJ typology with dominance in both the Extrovert and Introvert (E-I) traits equally, Intuition, Feelings and Judging. While I believe that we
The meaning of archetype that is identified by Carl Jung is “a tendency all human begins have to form mythological images and motifs.” The archetype that stands out the most to me is “The Initiates“. Without knowing the meaning of this word, the most catchy part of this word is that it is similar to the “initial” which means first or beginning. As I dig more into the word, it means to cause a new beginning that requires training and overcoming challenges to reach a certain goal. This word is meaningful in many content to me because I am currently experiencing something that is new. High school, which is a new beginning is one of the many changes that I face in my life. In this stage, I will experience many hardships and challenges in order to achieve what I want. Moreover, I think that this is also important to be because “a new beginning” means a new chance and opportunity. Where I start everything clean just like a white paper. Though all the stuff that I will
The Jung Typology Test is designed to give the participant a 4-letter formula which describes strength preferences of one’s personality type. The formula is based on whether the participant favors Extraversion or Introversion, Sensing or iNtuition, Thinking or Feeling, and Judging or Perceiving when it comes to the participant’s general attitude. One will also receive a Temperament, which is based on one’s personality type formula, and can be used to make somewhat accurate predictions of the participants preferred behavior. In this essay I will discuss the results that I received after taking the test. Having a personality type that prefers extraversion, sensing, feeling, and judging comes with many strengths and weaknesses when working in
As an ESTJ or any other type for that matter, one must understand what each of their four personality types are and how they fit with each other. David Keirsey expounds on the personality types described by Jung and Myers-Briggs to theorize on the temperaments associated with each of the 16 personality types. This theorization assists us in understanding how our types work together and describe who each of the types are. The temperaments are categorized by two letters that associate them with one of the 16 personality types. The “SJ” temperament is the one that is associated with an ESTJ. The S and J stand for sensing and judging. Keirsey describes “SJ’s” as security seeking and labels them as “The Guardian”. The temperament for an ESTJ includes an external focus, requiring logic which requires structure. ESTJ’s through their temperament are
Using the Jung Typology Personality Test gives some insight into my personality preference. The Jung Typology Personality Test is a system that explains a formula of four letters. Each letter spells out each aspect of your personality; could be used to point me into a suitable career fields, tell the communication and learning style I use in my daily life, at work or at home. The result of the test shows that I am of the ISTJ personality type. From what I have seen from the test, I believe in its accuracy, knowing what I do about myself. From studying the Jung theory, it gives me a number of explanations to behaviors I have been practicing knowingly and at times unconsciously. Some of the benefits to be gained from this experience will
There are many people in this world; no two people are the same. When considering personality theories it is important to note that not all theories apply to all situations or all people. Different theories have different approaches. It is important to know the person before making assumptions about the proper theory to apply to the person or in any given situation. The purpose of this paper is to analysis how different personality theorists could interoperate different individual circumstances and behaviors based on case examples provided by the instructor.
This paper researches the typical traits of the INTJ personality type according to the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator. Additionally, I will be discussing the opposite personality of INTJ, type ESFP. I will detail two past experiences where my INTJ personality posed problems. This paper will also explore strategies that may benefit the INTJ personality type, myself included.
After taking the online personality test I learned that I am an INTJ personality. Consequently, this was not a big surprise for me because I had already taken a similar test in my psychology class and ended up with the same result. I did not learn how accurate the test was the first time since I did not do further analysis on the exact meaning of my personality type. The 16 personality type’s website de...
According to Carl Jung, the Father of Analytic Psychology, “humans descend from ancestral-based also known as, racial phylogenetic predispositions” that form our personality, behavior, and consciousness. Jung regarded the psyche, a complex interacting system composed of the ego, the personal unconscious, and the collective unconscious, as the primitive, innate, and unconscious structure of personality. Jung emphasizes that we share a common humanistic collective unconscious and its archetypes, or “psychic instincts”. Moreover, we share the ability to experience innate psychological patterns, representations of images, and symbols, originated from our antecedents and throughout ancient history and its generations. The Jungian archetype of animus and anima represents the importance of the collective unconscious in relation to personality.
