Introduction:
During the fall 2017 semester, I worked in the choice canning company’s accounting department. My job was to assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable. In addition to helping prepare the company’s financial statements. The experience that I have gained from working at choice canning company is incredible. furthermore, it has prepared me for my future career goal of becoming a certified public accountant. Working in an accounting department requires a lot of responsibility and challenging work. However, it is well worth the effort because I was able to understand how accounting works in the “real-world” by transferring academic knowledge into a real-world context.

For example, I was required to draw on the knowledge obtained in my principles of accounting one and principles of accounting two courses. These tasks included bank reconciliations, income statement, and balance sheet preparation. In addition to posing and correcting journal entries.
Skills Developed:
The primary skills in which I have developed while working at the choice canning company include. analytical skills, critical thinking skills, communications skills, teamwork skills, technical skills, attention to detail and meeting deadlines. Nonetheless, the most prominent skill developed have been my communications skills.
Personal Perspective:
From a personal perspective, my strength was in my communications skills. Which became clear during my work experience when I was able to put my communications skills into practice. However, from a personal perspective, I was also able to identify a weakness of mine, specifically while on the job I had to be able to accept that I must rely heavily on other members in the accounting department to get assignment complete in a timely
