Coaching Career
“A coach is someone who tells you what you don’t want to hear, and has you see what you don’t want to see, so you can be who you have always known you can be.” I am most interested in pursuing a career in the educational field as a coach/teacher because of its advanced education, its flexible schedule, and its impact on others.
The education required to become a coach is quite simple, all you have to do is get your bachelor’s degree. Along with that, you need to know all about the sport you are going to coach. It is beneficial to have your own game-like experiences, but it is not required that you had to play at some point. There are some amazing coaches out there that probably never even made their J.V. team in high school because they didn’t have the skill, but they know the game and that is all it takes. …show more content…

Although, you do get the summers off, that’s time to plan for the next season. It takes a lot of time and strategy planning to be a coach. You have to be able to make quick decisions about which play you want to run, the players you want in and out of the game, and be able to make up plays in a split second to win a game. Coaches constantly have to plan things out like plays, the practice schedule, game-plans, and other stuff. You teach kids more than just about sports.
