I’m a basketball coach and a speech teacher for high school, and the reason why I chose this career is because I find coaching interesting as well as teaching speech class. And I another reason is because I like basketball. In order to become a high school basketball coach you have to teach a class unless you’re a head director, so the class I chose is a speech class. And you must successfully pass each course and earn an 80% or above to receive the bronze level credential . As some schools possesses a comprehensive coaching education program and credential. It is used by 40 high school athletics associations, in whole or in part, to accredit coaches and is being used by a lot of school districts and other sports people choose to attend. How much money can I make, how many years do I want to work in this field, where will I live, how much money will I make in the field of coaching, and the job description? In twenty years I hope to be athletic director of a high school somewhere
Being a Basketball Coach. The reason why i am studying this career is because i want to know what it is like to be a High School, or a College Coach, and a National League Associations (NBA) and just to see how it is to be a coach . My history of this career is that i have been to so many job shadows that are coaches and some coaches are nice too there players and some are very mean. There are a lot of basketball coaches out there and the employment of this job is to make sure your other coaches stay on track with the players to because some of the basketball players just want to go out and party after a game which that is not good for your body to have alcohol or anything else in your body. You can find these jobs everywhere
The salary you will make as a Divison 1 head coach is between $100,000- $7 million with added bonuses. As for other jobs, you can do within this industry are broadcasting, whether calling games or being a TV analyst. Also, you can become a full-time basketball trainer and also be a camp director running basketball camps or clinics. This industry is only going to continue to grow it is a billion dollar industry. The biggest development is college basketball being investigated by the FBI for fraudulent payments to players to attend certain schools and to get certain sponsorships. With Addidas being the biggest company involved and programs such as Alabama, Arizona, Louisville, Miami, Oklahoma State all being subjected to violations. “Four coaches were charged with violations Tony Bland of USC, Emmanuel Richardson of Arizona, Lamont Evans of Oklahoma State, and Chuck Person of Auburn” (FBI CBB pg 1). This investigation is only getting started, this will be the headline of the sport for the next year or so. The issue comes with the players having no amateurism meaning they can’t earn any money for their likeness, therefore companies and coaches will funnel money in different ways to players to get them to come to a school or join a company so they get first dibs on a player. Coaching involves a lot, but the reward at the end chasing championships and leading men to better lives and to reach their dreams and aspirations is the impact that is self-rewarding that you can’t get back in return and would be forever grateful to get that opportunity to do
The effectiveness of the coaching method depends completely on the coach, his personality, and the needs of the student-athletes. Each program and institution is unique and has different institutional goals and objectives that attract different student-athletes compared to other colleges or universities (Koivula, Hassmen, Fallby, 2002).
The process of becoming a great Coach requires a mix of intelligence, time, hard work, dedication, and knowledge of the sport that someone is coaching. Coaches have the opportunity to impact the players life in a huge way. Most players want to look up to their coach; because that is how influential that they can be in life. When I think of coaching I think of practice planning, game planning, scouting strategizing of offense and defense, choosing my starters, little things like that. All of those ideas are valid, but that’s not the whole picture. There is a lot more to coaching than planning for a practice or a game. Many times a person who would like to coach an interschool athletic team has little or no preparation to teach sports skills and techniques. The only qualifications is often the person’s participation on his or her high school, college, or university’s team, coach of a community youth team or even perhaps as a professional player. While all that experience is valuable in one way or another, it does not constitute an adequate preparation for coaching an interschool team as an integral part of the school’s physical education program Regardless of the experience or teaching certificates a person may have, State Education Law, Article (6), Section 300lb, requires, “That a person employed as a coach of an interschool athletic team must old valid first aid skills and knowledge certification (12 hours of initial training), and adult CPR certification (4 hour training). “Within the coaching profession there are three potential secondary school coaches: (1)a certified physical education teacher, (2) a teacher certified in an area other that physical education, (English, Mathematics), (3)holds no teaching certification and must qualify for a “Temporary Coaching License.”
John wooden a former player and later became a basketball coach once said. “A coach much never forget that he is a leader and not merely a person with authority.” Basketball has been something in our everyday lives for a while. To allot it something they just can't live without and others just choose to not even bother with it. I think that it is worth the time to look more into basketball. Basketball can be started at a elementary school level, and they can usually go to sign up at local boys and girls clubs maybe at their school if they offer it and can even join through their church if they attend one and they offer it to them. Being a coach seems easy to most parents but it really isn't how it isn't is a coach must ensure that players
Coaching, however challenging, is a great way to influence the lives of others while also building their character. For as long as there have been sports, there have been people teaching the sport to the players and making them better at it. Coaches must have certain qualities in order to obtain success. One must also look at a coach’s motivation for his job, his passion for what he does, his methods for coaching, and how he became a coach in order to fully understand him. There are many questions someone may want to ask a coach about his profession if they are interested in coaching.

Becoming a coach comes with many ups and downs, time and commitment, but only a select few will be successful in their coaching careers if they follow the correct instructions. If coaches connect with their athletes, specify the overall focus, and establish confidence within each other, they will be the most successful coaches they can
