Being a wolf does not mean you only work alone. It just means you do not fear working alone. I disagree with teachers assigning group projects and group assignments. First, some students do all the hard work for everyone in the group. Second, working in groups can cause an abundance of arguing and fighting between class mates. Last, I have had a really bad experience in the past working on a group project with my former friends. As can be seen, I fully disagree with teachers assigning group assignments and projects. First of all, group projects can be tremendously hard for some students, because sometimes they have to do almost all the work. Doing other peoples work in the group can be very exhausting for a student. Nobody should ever have to do that much work for someone else! If someone has to do all the work it could really stress them out. Also, the rest of the group gets credit for one students work. After all, some students in groups have to do all the work for everyone else in the group. Second of all, working in groups may cause students to fight and argue. Fighting in groups can lead to broken friendships. Nobody wants to lose their friend over some difficult group work. If everyone is fighting, no work will be done. The class room would also be really loud and …show more content…
In 5th grade my friends and I were assigned to do a group project over the history of the United States of America. We were working together and cooperating very well until the questions got harder. Everyone in the group started disagreeing with each other. Nobody wanted to put the same answer. We all started yelling and fighting and we did not get the assignment finished on time. We all made a bad grade and blamed each other. After that day, we have not talked since. As I have stated, this personal experience has made me hate working in group projects ever
Normally in a group, the work will be divided into the number of members in the group and may be arranged to each of the members to receive the part where they are more confident and have more knowledge of it. In addition, if a member is confused with their work, he can receive assistance from his teammates rather than just being alone and figure it himself independently. However, I believe sometimes been in a group can have its cons. A common pitfall associated with working as a group is disagreement about the way something is being done, a particular issue, or an opinion. Sometimes one member might have his own beliefs and want to perform a task in their way and conflict can arise from this. Once conflict arises, the members can discuss their own opinions and might arrive to a solution, but this can cause a member to not show their full potential because something was not done the way they wanted. I believe this is very common but if you are open minded, it can be overcome for the sake of the team to be
If you are studying together it is very helpful, and you will get a lot done. Also, with a group mind, if you are doing a project for work/school there is always somebody there to look over your work, just in case you mess up. Then, if you are doing a project with some a lot of calculations, having a group is very helpful. In case you mess up or just do not see a mistake you made on a calculation and correct it, so you do not have to get some points taken off for getting it wrong. There are pros and cons to this subject matter, but I think the cons outweigh the pros.
At Delta High school, a student may choose to either work alone or to collaborate with a group in order to finish a project. Both choices offer pros and cons when it comes to efficiency and the quality of work. In a group setting, students may get sidetracked, or the group itself may not be able to function properly. On the other hand, group projects allow broader opinions and valuable peer reviews. Choosing to do independent work will benefit the student’s work ethic, but will also increase the work load. So which is the better choice? The answer is found in the history of the world’s progress in science and technology. Technology does not excel solely from independent work, nor does

When working on a group project, there are certain skills that are required to make sure that the tasks are being carried out smoothly. With that in mind, it is critical to keep an open line of communication as well as an understanding of the other individuals in the group. The following scenario is of a group project I was a part of that had a breakdown in the two points expressed above.
This was my first time to work within a group academically; during my degree my grades had always been dependant on my own personal work and effort, but now for the first time my grade relied on the work and effort of others also. This was a little worrying at first as I was unsure how I and my group would work collaboratively, and how we would manage to create a coherent module design. As I had also started building many good relationships with the members of my group over the last four months, I feared the collaborative project may negatively impact on this, if any conflict was to occur. Thankfully this did not become an issue and working collaboratively turned out to be more beneficial than I had first anticipated.
“Please don’t make me work in a group!” is the first thing that enters my mind when an instructor announces a project. More often than not, I am distracted and irritated by my group members. Harsh, I know, but my experience has always been that one person, usually me, ends up doing most of the work. I like to be in control, but I do not like picking up others’ slack. I am also an introvert, and I think more clearly and purposefully when I understand the task but am permitted to sort things out on my own.
Realizing that a group can become a high performance team is important. Accomplishing this goal is invaluable, advantageous and profitable. Once able to operate from a group to the high performing team is a great step into preparation into the big business world. Leaders and members must also realize not only how to accomplish this but that some problems will and can arise from different demographic characteristics and cultural diversity. That is if one is in such a group, which the probability would be quite high.
Many teachers look down on group projects because of that one unproductive student not participating in the group assignment. Although, you may see a significant number of unproductive students, it is not fair to the students who participate and are all for the assignment. Teachers should assign more group projects. In school, students use different strategies to study and learn depending on what strategy suites them. Group projects are a great way to get to learn different strategies and how to use them.
To depend on others when my grade depends on it NO WAY. Group projects are a workload even though they can provide some real world experience. Students like me hate group projects. Students hate group projects because group members get off task, all the group members get the same grade and you have to rely on other students.
Learning in small groups can be defined as a group of learners that have three common characteristics: active participation by the group, delegation of specific tasks, and the ability to reflect on tasks, after completion. In a group environment, the idea of an individual working on their is replaced by teamwork in the public school system. Many times working in a group can be a challenge, due to the fact, that there are different personalities involved. However, the group can also provide many benefits to each student, as well as, the group as a whole. Students may need guidance and practice to reap the benefits of working in a group.
The Importance of Group Work in Today's Organizations. It could be argued that in order to be successful, modern organisations must actively develop strong and cohesive work groups. Why do you need to be a member? Is it true that there is no room for the individual in today’s organisation? The rapid progression and improvement in information and communication technology has led to modern organisations finding new ways to work.
Working together with other people for an assignment can be a challenging task in some cases but luckily, I worked well with my group members. The decisions we made were anonymous although we paced ourselves individually when it came to completing our separate parts of the essay. As a group I believe that we connected well on an interpersonal level as all four of us were able to make alterations to any problem together . Furthermore, we did not give each other a chance to get angry at one another as we knew that this would only cause conflict that would disrupt our flow as a group. There was an equal divide in the amount of work that we all did; our contributions were fair and no one was lacking behind. In addition, my group members were great at keeping each other informed if one of us were not able to attend a group meeting; emails were sent out informing us what we missed and ideas that were formulated. Everyone in my group worked according to deadlines and in synchronization with each other; we did not have to nag anyone to complete work or wait on a member to complete their task.
Everyone knows that you must put differences aside to be able to work together. It's crucial that when paired with a group of students for a project, one understands how to work with different types of people to complete the project. For example, my high school classes assign many group projects. I don't always get put with a group of people that I am familiar with. In fact, countless times I have been placed with a group of students that don’t want to cooperate at all.
My goal as a teacher is to improve my student’s education and help them grow knowledgably. I like to see students at different levels develop with each other and learn. I want to challenge the students and watch them grow to their highest level of education. Therefore, having the students in groups is the best educational strategy I like to use a lot. I want my students to have freedom with whatever creativity they want, and to allow them to express themselves at any time. With this freedom students will be able to experiment with likes and dislikes and be able to figure their weaknesses and strengths. Education is for everyone and it’s a right by low for all; teachers, on the other hand, should do their jobs very honestly and effectively.
