Cell Phones in School?... NOPE!!! by.Hadden Hatch Sure, cell phones have games on ‘em, so what, when would you play those anyways in class? I think cell phones shouldn’t be allowed in school because, some phones don’t have internet, age should matter, ringing, and most of all, games is why most people want their phone only because of games. First some Phones don’t have internet for research. Phones like certain BlackBerries don’t have internet and those 80s brick phones. Even if your phone has internet it costs money because WIFI connection costs data. Also cell phones without internet might make them feel like a loser because other kids might make fun of him/her for having a phone without internet. Phones sometimes don’t have internet.
Age should matter. First of all we don’t want a first grader especially kindergartener running around calling the only number they really know 911 for nothing. Also when you're in third fourth you really don’t need it unless you walk home but when you’re in fifth grade next year you’ll be walking home from the bus stop. Some ages are irresponsible they might “1.Students might play video games in class 2. If a cell phone rings, it distracts everyone in class 3. Texting is super distracting 4. Cell phones enable students to cheat during tests, texting each other the answers,” from degate.org. In conclusion age should matter we don’t want a kid under the age of 5th grade running around playing temple run or something.

The principal’s idea of banning cell phones from the school has to be one of the best ideas yet. Why does a student even need to use a cell phone during school? The usage of cell phones in a school or a business can only lead to disaster. Students could be texting friends the answers on tests, talking on the phone and not paying attention and miss an announcement, or they might talk or text and hurt another individual verbally or physically.
1 The right age to get a cellphone is when you get 17 or 18 in high school. Some parents buy their child phones such as iphones, samsung, tracphone, and ipad for to call them when ever needed. Kids shouldn't have phones at the age of 6-15, because some kids just call people and then they phone bill need payed. The problem is that when kids have the phone with them in the class and it go off the teacher will take it.Some kids bring they phone to call their momma or grandpa at least they having an emergcy.
Have you ever heard of the gruesome Columbine High School massacre? This incident occurred on April 20th 1999 and involved two students embarking on a shooting rampage, killing twelve students, a teacher and wounding twenty three others. Unfortunately during this incident, the school's most easily accessible phone was on the other side of the school in the library. Perhaps some of these lives could have been saved if the students in this class had cell phones that they could've used to contact the authorities more quickly. The issue we are addressing today is the use of cellular devices in educational facilities. I believe that cell phone use is of extreme convenience, and has academically beneficial aspects, among it's so called "faults".
Buzzzzzzzzzz! Another cellphone is going off in the middle of class, causing her to blush and discreetly check her new text message. A virtual conversation is buzzing back and forth inside one classroom and into the classroom across the hall, having a discussion about the party that night or the lipstick color chosen at the mall. In another classroom, a student posts the answers to the English exams on her profile page, allowing all of her buddies to read and use for their time of the exam. There are multiple examples of students using their cell phones during class time to communicate their thoughts, images of their environment or dangerous crimes. In addition, the percentage of students with cellphones now soars to about 80% (Ban). This highly increases the chance for students to have a cell phones on them during school. Cell phones can also be harmful to students during class, taking them into another world of technology, separated from the classroom, and turning them down a road of decisions they never intended on doing. Overall, cell phones alter classroom learning in a negative way, and should be banned from use in the classroom at all schools.

Cell phones first appeared in the 1980’s, and were marketed toward the upper-class. At first consumer demands of cell phones were slow to catch on, but gradually grew in popularity. Since their introduction, almost every aspect of the cell phone has been continually improved and advanced, predictably in part due to Moore’s law which states, “The number of transistors used in an integrated circuit doubles every year”. High demand and improving technology have forced cell phones to the forefront of modern technological precedent. This feat can undeniably be considered a marvel of modern society. In the pockets of a majority of students attending high school today there is a cell phone, hidden away from prying eyes; it has access to all the information mankind has to offer and more including various forms of social networking and communication. Cell phones are tools that are used for efficiency of everyday life as well as convenience and also have a great potential in the educational field. Evidence supporting the theory that cell phones are used purely for productivity and efficiency could not be found without first discovering how they can be used adversely, especially in the hands of mischievous high school students. With the popular emergence of cell phones with internet capabilities and large amounts of digital space, educational opportunities seem to be at a peak and with these advantages in education also come disadvantages which could pose a ris...

Students should not be permitted to use cell phones in school. Using cell phones during school allows students to cheat. Students will be more distracted by cell phones and pay less attention to the teacher and to the lesson. Ring, ring, ring. All teens know what that sound means; a cell or text. Teachers know this sound too, because they hear it in their classes every day. Some teachers think that teens shouldn’t have phones, even to help with classwork. The reasons why teens shouldn’t have phones in class is because not everyone is going to get the some data, not everyone will get the right data, and they are too dependent on them.
You are sitting in class just listening to the teacher when all of a sudden, you remember you have a presentation in your next class and you left your project at home. You sit there and think, “I need to get ahold of my mom and ask her to bring my project.” However, you have a major problem. Cell phones are banned from school. The teacher gives you a bad grade since you were unprepared and now you’re upset.
Schools are starting to make a decision on if students should have their phone on in school. It’s a fifty-fifty chance... Which side would you choose? Teacher, Miriam Morgenstern is frustrated with students and their cell phones because the tweeting, snapchatting, and texting is a big distraction and it’s even harder for her to teach.
The purpose of college is to provide students with a positive learning environment. Although many colleges have a rule, perhaps colleges should ban the use of cell phones in college classrooms for three reasons. Keeping cell phones in college classrooms allows students to use it for non-educational purposes. Cell phones are also easily lost, stolen or broken and may end up in the wrong hands of an irresponsible student or could be a classroom distraction. The prevalence of cell phone use in the classroom has become a distraction to other students and faculty, and is considered impolite, and should be prohibited from use in college classrooms.
