If you notice your child’s grades not doing so good they have came up with a solution. If you could help improve your child’s grades would you? The school board has found out that a lot of kids grades has decreased in the last little while so they found out what was wrong. The students are not getting enough sleep so they fall asleep in class. There solution to this is to let school start later so kids can get more sleep so there grades can start to increase instead of falling asleep in every class even if it’s boring.
If the kids get more sleep they will be ready to take on anything at school. The students would also like to start school later because they will be wide awake. It isn’t the student’s fault for them falling asleep in class and getting a report or yelled at. The school board needs to change it because when a student falls asleep and gets in trouble

Some classes may be we even have some like that but with a full night’s sleep you can come to school and be ready for any class possible and work to. If I got more sleep I would be able to do better in school. From my experience I stay up working on my work then I stay up, so when I wake up I’m tired and want to go back to bed but I have to go to school and I fall asleep during some classes.
If the students get a lot of work from the teachers they will be up all night trying to finish it so it may be about 10:00 or 11:00 till they get to bed so when they wake up in the mornings they will be really tired to go to school. If a student falls asleep during class it should not be there fault to be getting in trouble they don’t have a choice on when they wake up to come to school. If it was my choice I would change the time because in my opinion kids should have more time to sleep. Human studies show the less sleep a child gets to wake up for school it is bad for their brain and their
Why Schools Should Continue Starting at Eight Despite popular opinion, to be beneficial, schools should continue on their current schedules, and not start later. Starting schools later can have a variety of positive and negative consequences on students. Schools currently are at a time that gives students enough lesson time to learn subjects, but still have time to relax and take part in other activities after school. Many families depend on the time school starts to have easy transportation to school and work. Starting schools later will take away students time to do activities of their choice such as spend time with their families, socialize with others, and participate in extracurricular activities.
Based on the article on The National Sleep Foundation, when it's time for school the average teen body still thinks it's the middle of the night.
When you were 14-16 were you tired or sleeping in class? Odds are you were, because 60% of 14-16 year olds get less than 7 hours of sleep each night. Schools should start later than when it is now because of these 3 reasons. The 1st reason is that kids wouldn’t be so tired in their morning classes. They wouldn’t fall asleep in their morning classes. Kids would get enough sleep where they won't be so late to class. The last reason is that kids would feel better because they will get more hours of sleep than normal.
...ld be an aspect school districts should evaluate. However, others may feel that pushing back start times would interfere with parent and administrative schedules. Clearly, the best viewpoint on this subject is to revise start times for high schools in order for students to obtain a more desirable sleep cycle and overall improved health.
Schools should not start later because that would cause a lot of problems. Schools should stay how they are because it will make kids stop being on there phones at night so much, it won’t make school end later (and make kids walk home in the dark), and it interfere with sports or jobs.
It is common knowledge to most, that people perform better at school when they are adequately rested. Sleep is a necessary prerequisite for any action that an individual desires
An average student needs 8 ½ to 10 hours of sleep a night. If they have to get up for school at 6 they should be in bed by at least 9:30. A lot of parents think that starting school later is a great idea but there are many downfalls with starting later. Although getting up early can affect a teens natural sleep pattern, schools shouldn't start later in the school day. The amount of sleep they get, the activities or sports kids go after school, if they babysit their younger siblings after school, all this is affected by starting school later.
Changing the start time of school would improve student attendance. According to the Scholarly Community Encyclopedia, a test in 2014 showed that attendance was greatly improved when school was changed to start at 8:30 or later. This would give kids more time to fully wake up and get ready. It would also help with tardies in the mornings. This would benefit both students and the overall school
Alexandra Sifferlin wrote an article in the Time magazine on making schools better for kids. In the article, she describes seven major points of change in schools to make kids happier and healthier. The seven changes are as follows: ditch traditional homework, make recess mandatory, screen kids for mental illness, prioritize diversity, turn discipline into dialogue, let students customize their curriculums, and start classes after 8:30 a.m. The article tells us that experts are trying to create policy changes in school since children spend such a large portion of their time there. Although this may sound like an excellent idea I have found two flaws in this reform of the school system. They are as follows.
Schools are considering pushing their start times so that they start later. This may seem like a good idea at first but there are actually several laws in this idea. Some of the flaws include transportation issues, health issues and interfering with extracurricular activities. At first it seemed like a good idea but after further review, schools should not start at a later time because it causes problems with transportation, extracurriculars and early rising is beneficial to the human body.
Absences, tardies, or not even showing up to class is all caused by school beginning too early in the morning. An adolescent’s life, can be impacted dramatically because of how hours are spent on a day to day basis. There are many reasons that school should start later in the morning, such as for more sleep so teens do not get in car crashes, or even so they can do better physically and academically. Sleep has a significant value in the lives of one growing adolescent.
What happens is that most kids want to have fun in school, and when they do it they get in trouble. This is one way schools can stop being tired and stop the lateness. All they have to do is push the school start time back. If they do that, then most people will stop sleeping in class, being tired, and stop being late. Sleeping in class is really bad to do.
Almost all students already have stress because of school, imagine what would happen if the school board extended school hours by an hour and a half. School is already stressful because of everything we already do. Yes, adding a hour to school can help many students perform better but I disagree adding an hour and a half to school because students will perform worse, students wouldn’t have enough time to do things after school and many students will not come to school. First of all, I disagree with adding more time to school because students will perform worse. Students will perform worse because they will be too tired for the end of the day.
Beep beep beep here comes the bus at 7:20. The time after school to do our homework will be a lot shorter. Kids will not grow up and they will stay up even later after their bedtime before because they have more time to sleep in the morning. They should go to bed at the same time because that is what the late start is for. Parents need to work in the morning and many little kids do not know how make their breakfast in the morning, they don't know when there bus comes, or they won't have anybody drive them because their parents have to go to work..
Some people believe that their is no problem with our current schedule in our education system. They believe that the problem is with the students themselves. In their mind, the students are lazy, and don’t have any ambition to do well in school. Many schools have taught seven classes in a school day, so why does the school need to change their system after all these years? This side of the argument views this step as coddling the students of today. Those who are for this change understand that school material is different than it was years ago. This side of the argument understands that the demand on students today is a heavy load than their parents. Some students learn differently at different levels, and not all students learn at the same pace as others. When the teacher starts to
