Unlike many students who are unsure of the specialty they wish to pursue when entering college, my goal has always been to become a computer engineer. Becoming a computer engineer is not simply a decision I have taken lightly. I have thought very long and hard before deciding to pursue this career path. I am the oldest of four siblings, and we grew up in a poor neighborhood in the rural highlands of Vietnam. Since I was young, I have enjoyed dabbling with computers and experimenting with different applications. There was something about computers and programming that always attracted my interest. I have learned small pieces of C++ from the Harvard lectures that are available online as well as through other. I have learned how to replace and install computer components as well as certain programs which were used to prevent the computers from obtaining malicious content. Additional, I started working on my own project about creating a simple website "How To Code C++ For Fun". Every time I write a piece of computer code, I get the feeling I have created a piece of art. Essentially, I …show more content…
I did not fail any of my classes and instead received good grades for my perseverance. As an immigrant to a new country, my greatest barrier is English. Consequently, I had to go to tutoring and work three times more than native English speaking students. But despite the frustrations, I never allowed myself to give up. I never stopped striving for excellence. I worked very hard and took advantage of extra credit opportunities, even though I was already earning a good grade in the course. My short-term academic goals are graduating from Cosumnes River College in Spring 2019 with an Associate of Science degree. I plan to start my bachelor degree next fall at CSU, Sacramento and graduate in spring 2022. I am motivated to succeed because my degree is not only for me but also the epitome of how far my family has
Growing up, my parents never expected perfection but expected that I try to accomplish my best. The effort I’ve put forth in learning has been reflected in my grades throughout my high school career. I’ve entered myself in vigorous course work such as AP Government and AP English to become well prepared for my college career, all while maintaining a 4.4 grade point average this year. Not only do I engage in AP classes, but up until this year I had no study halls. I wanted my day to be packed full of interesting classes that I would enjoy learning about. My grades and choice of classes prove the effort that I put forth in my learning. Working hard now can only pay off in the future. Learning now creates a well-rounded human being. Working to learn is why I am so dedicated to my studies now.
The abysmal completion rate I’ve begun this year with is the result of my failed year of college in 2001. To be short, I earned eight F grades in two semesters. I was obviously not prepared enough to succeed with
Goals give you something to measure yourself against and give you direction. Currently, my main goal is to graduate from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree of science in engineering with a concentration in biomedical engineering. My anticipated time to graduation is five years with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Beyond getting my bachelor’s degree at East Carolina University, I would like to go to medical school and become a doctor focusing on prosthetics. In order to make my goals a reality, I will have to work diligently to remain on track throughout my schooling. Additional goals that I have set for myself are to complete homework assignments by the time they are due, reading assigned material before it is discussed in class, doing well in each of my courses this semester, successfully participating in extracurricular activities, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, getting a position as an engineer, and becoming a leader within both the engineering community and the general community. A world-class engineering student woul...
I chose to pursue on being a computer hardware engineer because I like taking apart and building computers and I would like to be able to construct some components that would go into a computer. I am kind of fascinated on how much there is to know about computers to even buy parts yourself and build it. Later on, I will start to study on what computer hardware engineers really do on their jobs. I know they usually work in groups because the task computer hardware engineers have will usually be really hard to do alone. When I am in college, I will most likely get an internship to gain practical experience.
Right now I have a fairly accurate idea concerning what I want to do with my life. My love for computers has taken me a long way and I have a strong feeling that I will continue in the field of computer science. Yet, I am also aware that I may change my mind several times before I begin a career. College will introduce me to new and various things, and I will develop new interests from this exposure. The world of technology is changing rapidly and computers seem like the best way to go. When I combine that and my love for computers I am almost certain that the field of computer science is right for me.
I am fully aware that yours curriculum requires that I summon all my resources and I aver that I have the necessary commitment, intelligence and stamina to look forward to do it all. I believe that my experience of working on various projects coupled with my professional working ethics will not let your expectations down. I am convinced that my study at your department would be meaningful and rewarding experience to achieve my objective of life. I look forward to have a long and profitable association with your esteemed college. I especially thank you for giving me the opportunity to express about myself.
I believe that I can succeed in college level classes because I have the ability to work hard as well as the resilience to complete tasks that are assigned. Throughout my education, I have not failed a class, nor have I earned anything less than a C. Once I start with something I have to push through and finish it, even if it means putting in extra time and effort. I know that being a post secondary student will be challenging, however I feel that I have the resilience to be successful. Though only a sophomore in high school, I have worked hard in many areas of my life, not only to be a better student, but to be a better person. In the past year and a half, my grades have improved, my faith has grown stronger, and I have matured tremendously.
My career choices have changed through the years from mother and housewife through architect, accountant, or teacher, finally I have arrived at a computer career. The following is an idea of the path I have followed.
My passion for computers started in high school, when my father bought a home pc. Then I got the opportunity to explore my practical knowledge with a young and an enthusiastic teacher. At first I started learning about the hardware...
Earn while studying: you will agree with me that there are several jobs out there that require Computer Science student not necessarily because they have graduated but because they could do the job as student. Jobs ranging from web programming, software writing (which one can do after finishing Python programming language of CS1101 without necessarily finishing a bachelor or an associate degree) etc. Some of the place one can find these jobs are www.freelancer.com, www.upwork.com etc.
Persistence, passion, perfection. All vital factors to master if you are to be successful, not only within the boundaries of education but throughout life as a whole. Throughout my 4 years of attending Kealakehe high school my mental strengths have been put to the test, multitudes of assignments requiring time management and organization skills in order to be wholesome and meet the standards you set for yourself. I have been thoroughly challenged by the high end education offered at Kealakehe high school, optimizing my chances for success and the ability to strive in college. I have never ceased to challenge myself, partaking in many Honors courses throughout the years, and despite enjoying the challenge and furthering my education I was unable to sustain a high GPA. Currently my GPA is a 2.5 but I aim to improve it as best I can my final year here, I lightened my course load to ensure my success while still challenging myself by taking an AP course. Despite briefly being a part of Interact I haven’t been as involved as I’d hoped throughout my high school career, other responsibilit...
Everyone wants to be something from a doctor to a stylist, I want to be a mechanical engineer. This is something I have always wanted to do in my life, the opportunities that exist in this field can lead to anything. Mechanical engineers are able to do many tasks in the job environment from designing, to developing, and also building. All of the engineering fields have great pay, that is able to support my family and also my parents. In the work environment of a mechanical engineer, they usually are around an office and sometimes where their product is being used at. To be able to apply for a mechanical engineering job you
While reasoning my intentions to pursue MS in Computer Science at Oklahoma State University I would like to throw some light on my career till now, I always fancied myself with Computers right from my childhood and thought of becoming a Software Engineer got implanted in my mind at an early age. A career in Engineering seemed the most challenging and logical extension of my abilities.
The work of information technology is varied, and the people in the industry who usually
Why do I want to be a civil engineer? Well, I am mainly interested in becoming a civil engineer for two reasons. My first reason is that I want to see something I designed on paper become real. I have always thought that was the coolest thing about engineers: they can design things like skyscrapers on paper, and then have them built because they are free of all errors. My second reason is just me wanting to have a career and not just a regular job at a factory, where there is always the chance of jobs being offshored or done by machines instead of people.
