I am interested in becoming an orientation leader due to many reasons. I loved the entire process of discovering the new environment that I will be part of for a few years and all of those enthusiastic people that where showing us around. Since the first day of the orientation, I wanted to be a part such a great and fun group of people. I had fun and I met so many great people that I talk to every day. The people I met during the orientation, I can say, are some of my best friends at this school. I personally also love to help out people; it is something that I would even like to do in my life. The new students that are going to be coming in next year are going to be scared and I would like to help them out with meeting new people, making new friends, and getting used to the new change in their lives. …show more content…

The responsibilities of an orientation leader are to help the new students to get familiar with the college's resources, building locations, and campus services, to hold discussions with the new students, to prepare material for activities for the students. The orientation leader should be enthusiastic, so he/she gives the energy to the other students, team player, flexible, good public speaking skills, being able to work with different types of people, and good leadership skills. To be a team player is very important because an orientation leader works with many other orientation leaders and they all have to be a great team, so the orientation can run smoothly, and everyone enjoys it. The good communication skills are also very important because of a leader cannot tell others what to do, no one is going to do
