Ava Freeman Beta Club is Important to me I am a fifth grader at Newnan Crossing Elementary School, I’m ten years old, and I’m Ava Freeman. My favourite color is rainbow because, I love all the colours in the rainbow, I also love to help. I believe that I will be a good Beta Club member because I can help in all different situations if it’s good or bad. I grew up with people who helped for a living. My mom’s job was helping girls that had got themselves into trouble and needed help, that is when I learned as a toddler, that helping is what I wanted to do. I soon got into elementary school and I was a big helper. I still am. Last year I was in Mrs. Harkabus’ class and had the greatest opportunity
Why do I want to go to Brophy? It is quite simple actually, I want to go to Brophy because I believe the school and staff will give me the best chances of achieving my goals in life. Also, I want to go because when I attended the school during a shadow day I felt that I belonged there and that my personality fit right into what the school expects and wants in its students. Finally, I want to go to Brophy because I do not think that there is another high school in Arizona that is quite like it, from the school’s athletics to its academics and staff. In conclusion, I want to go to Brophy because the school is unique and matches my personality, giving me the best chances of going anywhere in life, while enjoying it.
...e I knew how it felt when I was younger and no one had helped me out. This decision of mine took place when I was either in 9th or 10th grade, because I see a lot of children being hurt by different actions. It shaped me more into seeing that I want to help children in all sorts of areas. Because children, always need the first care they deserve. If there are more people trying to help today’s children, I feel that they can be in a better place. For me, I didn’t have anyone to talk to about what was going on in my household till I was later on a teen. If it waited that long for me, how will it be for someone who had a worse life than I handle it? No matter what goes on, I feel that helping children will make me feel I accomplished something in my life. That is why, I will continue to get my Master’s Degree and work my way up to help those children that are in need.
I have assisted people with disabilities in need of assistance with house cleaning, cooking, and running errands. I enjoy what I do and consider it a privilege to be able to help people in the comfort of their homes. Helping my community is one thing that I enjoy, and I am glad I was in the position to help.
I have been in this school since kindergarden. I have been here long enough to see our school win the state title for football and I”ve also seen our school locked down. There is the good and the ugly in every story, and what side you choose to pick will make your life easier or a very long road to glory.
There are countless people who aspire to help people in their lives. However, if you think about it, nearly every career helps others in some way, shape, or form. Teachers, scientists, policemen and various other careers aid people in different ways. I, like many others, have always known that I’ve wanted to help people. Yet, I also want to do more than that. I want to help others, but also save others- emotionally or physically, mentor others, inspire others, and be there for others during their most vulnerable times. This is who I am- and I have always been this person. In first grade, I ran a lemonade stand at my school for the Make-A-Wish Foundation; I got my third grade class to raise money for starving children; and I put up with bullying throughout middle school because I befriended a girl who had trouble making friends on her own. The quality of pure selflessness and care for others that I have always possessed would allow me to do something great with my life- it just took me some time to figure out what.
My main motivation for being a helper is the fact that by working with children, later on in life theses children will know that they have someone to come to in the future, for any reason. I would be considered to be an informal helper if I was just talking to them as a friend, but with my job being a Speech Language Pathologist, I would also be considered a physical helper as well. When I was a young child, I had a physical helper, who was my doctor and my Speech Language Pathologist. When it came to me having problems with my parents getting mad because they couldn’t understand me, I would go talk to my Speech Language Pathologist about how to resolve these problems. I would I also have my informal helpers which was my friends, hairstylist, and my family. I would just talk to these people on a daily basis because we all lived in the same town, and because they cared about me. All these people helped me get through some of the worst time in my life, but they also made me have so many good things happen to me. Seeing all these people do those little things for me made me want to be able to do the same for anyone that needs a friend or someone to be there to guide
I have always been a person that must help, it is difficult for me to sit idle and to do work that is meaningless. I left a safe and secure career in retail when I did not find the meaning the profound affect my work had upon another. A year and a half ago I began that journey to help others through starting my role as a therapeutic staff support. I was able to learn many things, and at the ...
One time, when I was around five, it was night time and I had a school project to turn in the next day, I approached my mother and told her that I needed help with my project. Of course I told her that I had to turn in the project the next day, and she proceeded to scold me for waiting until the last minute to do my work, but never the less she accepted to help me. If I had asked for help when I was five, I must have asked for help later in my life, because I’m sure I’ve needed help many times, and not only from my mother but from friends, teachers, peers, strangers, and family.
I'm delightfully honoured to have received the nomination to be Kappa Epsilon's Historian. I feel that I'm much qualified for the position, and very excited for my duties if elected. My duties shall be to document the activities and achievements of the month and capture them in writing and in photograph, and to compile a scrapbook and a PowerPoint presentation for the end of the year. Based on my artistic background and my adequate proficiency with computers, it is to my belief that I would be an exceptional choice for the position. I ensure that I will put all my abilities to work and excel in all of my duties, and to truly illustrate what Kappa Epsilon represents.
At the age of 10 I had truly begun to realize that I lived an exceptionally blessed life. This realization gave me the strength, at just 10 years old, to break out of my shell and do something incredible for the less fortunate. For my 10th birthday party I asked for all of my guests to bring me toys instead of presents. The feeling of helping others never went away. I began to volunteer for my church at the age of 12, helping with annual festivals and events, as well as volunteering to help for my church’s Beach Towel Ministry which is a program that gathers volunteers to rebuild houses for the less fortunate. Unfortunately, I was too young at the time to actually go out and help so I would stay in and help cook meals for the volunteers, something
This was able to improve speaking to people or in front of them such as I would do in presentation. This satisfied me and made me feel good because in way, this was community service. I was also able to create bonds with the students I taught. Every Time I see them, they wave to me now or come up to me and give me a hug. This reminds me that helping others can really impact your day and change your mood in a good way. Volunteering in this event was able to extend and enhance my knowledge in leadership as well grow new experiences and develop better communication skills. Other than personally benefitting me, this benefited me in school. In high school, you are required to help others in the form of community service hours. For example, I can tutor at Kimball in my strongest subject. I found doing this assignment a great experience for preparing me for future years as well as teaching me what I can improve
My sixth grade science teacher sat me at a table with children in my class who had special needs. At the time, I perceived it as a punishment, but she later showed me her intentions. One day, she pulled me aside and thanked me for sitting there and working with those kids. She told me that my patience and kindness allowed those students to excel in ways that they never had before in that class. She listed instances where she watched over us from her desk and saw me including all of them in the work we were assigned and making sure they knew they had a voice in what was going on. She even gave me a gift and presented me with an award at the end of the year. I didn’t know it then, but that experience is ultimately what led me to the field of occupational therapy.
Thank you for nominating me to be the 7th grade boy student of the year. I'll like to explain to you why I think I should be the seventh grade student of the year. As a member of the Beta Club I have a requirement of at least thirty hours per year of community service. However, I have gone above and beyond that that requirement to help my community
I spent most of my time in a first grade classroom. In this classroom I observed the children as well as the teacher and paraprofessional. This classroom had children with special needs and that is why there was a paraprofessional in the classroom for half the day. What I observed in this classroom was how children with special need should be handle and taught. The teachers in this room loves her job and each student in her class. While in the classroom the teacher allowed me to help with children with their work, read to them and help them with anything else that they needed. During this field experience I got to give back to not only a school, but to a community that is very near and dear to my heart. I hope that I touched each student in a special way, because the students that I got the opportunity to help learn touched my
