In order to complete this assignment, I chose to help or tutor clarinet players in lower grades such as in beginning and intermediate band during the Traina Tie-Dye fundraiser event. When I got there, I believed not many would show up after waiting for a long period of time. Out of nowhere, a clarinet player showed up who was in intermediate band. I ended up helping four people at one time with the help of Vicki. One player was in beginning band and the other three were in intermediate band. This was a great experience because it improved, as well as taught me, my skill of helping others in the best efficient way. I started off by introducing myself and having them tell me a bit about themselves so I can teach people and provide the best learning experience rather than teaching a stranger and giving them the worst learning experience which would be no fun.t After getting to know a little bit about them, I started teaching them how to tune and why it’s important. This was able to improve speaking to people or in front of them such as I would do in presentation. This satisfied me and made me feel good because in way, this was community service. I was also able to create bonds with the students I taught. Every Time I see them, they wave to me now or come up to me and give me a hug. This reminds me that helping others can really impact your day and change your mood in a good way. Volunteering in this event was able to extend and enhance my knowledge in leadership as well grow new experiences and develop better communication skills. Other than personally benefitting me, this benefited me in school. In high school, you are required to help others in the form of community service hours. For example, I can tutor at Kimball in my strongest subject. I found doing this assignment a great experience for preparing me for future years as well as teaching me what I can improve
