Skateboard Bearings
Problem or Research Question
Some of you have ridden a skateboard before, but some skateboards are faster than others. Why? Because some of the skateboards have faster bearings than others. Every skateboard brand has a faster or slower bearing and everyone has different bearings but may have the same brand. Some of you are probably wondering which bearing goes faster and which one goes slower. To figure out which bearing is faster and which one is slower is by putting it on a skateboard and push it down a ramp with the same force every time and see which one goes the farthest.

The very first Bones bearing was Reds and they have just gotten better and better. Then they made Bones Swiss and those are the fastest compared to the Bones Reds. When those kinds of bearings came out that was when skateboarding was born. Over time there were more and more types of bearings and each one was getting better and better. At first it started as to make a skateboard you would have to buy some roller skates and and take off the bottom part of it and then put that on the skateboard. When the age arrived when fans became increasingly enthralled with hockey, these boards were no longer practical. This was where the conundrum started. Something was necessary to keep a hockey puck, hurdling at speeds
Another reason that scooters shouldn't be allowed at the skatepark is that the skatepark are getting overpopulated. A lot of things get more dangerous when they are busy. For example highways, streets and especially skateparks. You always hold your kids hand when they cross the street so why would you just let them free? Skateboards are like cars flying out and could hit you.
The roller coaster has its beginnings in Russia where during the 1600's. People crafted sleds out of wood and built hills made of ice blocks. The hills had sand at the bottom to help slow down the sleds so they would not crash when they reached the bottom of the hill.1 Over time, the roller coaster has become more complex. They now are taller, faster
During the 1950’s when skateboarding first got it’s legs it was a very popular activity to take part in during vacations to ocean side tourist attractions, or as an activity after surfing. Yet, by 1965, skateboarding had diminished in popularity completely, therefore almost every skateboard manufacturer went out of business. . During this time the only people who even wanted to skateboard were surfers who needed something to ride to practice their surfing while the waves were flat. Due to the fact that there were no skateboards being made or sold, those who wanted to skate had to take it upon them-selves to manufacture their own boards. Using any kind of scrap they could find to build a usable board out of, such as metal scrap pieces or old planks. These determined surfers had to unscrew the trucks and wheels off of roller skates and attach them to the bottom of their boards. And because these kids were from very poor families for the most part, and next to non had jobs of their own, they had to resort to taking the trucks and wheels off the roller skates secretly in the stores. Although.., the clay wheels th...

Turning, stopping, and making lateral movements are extremely easy to do on ice, but roller hockey is completely different. In roller hockey there is no such thing as making a tight turn or stopping on a dime, because the wheels just slide out from underneath the player. The stopping technique for roller hockey is basically the same as ice hockey, but the player slides a little before coming to a complete halt.
Interestingly enough, snowboarding was invented by Sherman Poppen in North Muskegon, Michigan, back in 1965. Nowadays, snowboarding is considered one of the most popular winter sports among teenagers. On the other hand, there are many people that don’t have the slightest idea how to ride a snowboard straight down a hill. There are four steps to learn the basic skills of snowboarding.
“The first type of skateboard was actually more like a scooter. These contraptions, which date back to the early 1950's featured roller skate wheels attached to a two by four. Often the wood had a milk crate nailed to it with handles sticking out for control” (Warwick Books, “The Concrete Wave”). The Skateboard came after the Surfboard which has been around forever and was one of the first extreme sports on flat ground. Many people got into this sport very quickly as it started in California and they’ve always had a
The sole of a bowling shoe is made slippery in order to slide around the floor with ease. The heel of the shoe is usually made of rubber. It is used as a brake when sliding. With these shoes, bowlers are able to take complete control of their movement. This reveals that bowling culture puts priority on control. Bowling shoes are made using leather. Leather is known to be an insulator of heat. This was most likely kept in mind when designing the shoes. Heat leads to sweat and sweat leads to a restriction of fluidity when taking a step. This leather is used to prevent the heat and sweat from negatively impacting ones performance. Bowling culture emphasizes the importance of mastering ones bodily functions. Bowling culture is heavily influenced by the desire for strategic superiority over ones opponent.
In addition to snowmobiles Arctic Cat started building ATV”s. In 1995 Arctic Cat came out with it’s first ATV. There first ATV was produced
The spin bike was created in 1987 by Jonethan Goldberg. He invented the spinner so that people could train durring the cold snowy months of winter in the comfort of the indoors. Goldberg and partner John Baudhuin created the brand "spinner" and by 1992 the company focused on not only spin bikes but training as well. Many companies such as Star Trec and Keiser followed their lead. These spin bikes were made heavy duty to support any body type and have the ability to endure the same force that would be applied to a traditional road bike.
Skateboarding was originally from the idea of surfing. But when the waves were gone, they still wanted to go surfing so they decided to put wheels on their boards. And the ones who were brave enough
One way I succeeded was by practicing. Everyday I would go to the hill in my neighborhood and practice. I would practice stopping, keeping my balance, and locking my ankles in place so my board wouldn’t shake. I would spend all evening after school riding down that hill and if it was the weekend, I would be outside all day! I brought my skateboard with me everywhere and I would practice on any hill I saw until my legs and feet hurt, I was determined to ride down that hill.
Necessity turned out to be the mother of invention. In a short period of time, Mabel, the first black superstar skater in the history of the United States, came up with the new variations of basic spin. They were so gorgeous! She was the star of the shows at British West Indies with the famous Ice Follies, and in Mexico with the Ice Capades. The only sad thing is that the spins she invented have never been called anything more than just spin's variations. If it were for me, I'd call them Fairbanks spins.
If a town has a skatepark that is built in the right spot and is also built correctly it could improve the looks of the town. Improving the looks of the town will attract people and skaters from everywhere. In order for this to happen the park has to be designed and built professionally. A few rails and ramps that are placed on the outskirts of the town are not going to improve the looks of anything. But, if a nice park is built in a busy, populated area where there are lots of people it will looks great. Not only do skateparks look good, but if it designed and constructed correctly, they are fiscally conservative and require little maintenance(Whitly). After they are built they practically last forever.
