Why Colin is the Most Inspirational Coach At Sporting Blue Valley Coach Colin is the most inspirational coach many have ever had. Colin can bring spirits up and is always there for his players, even though some might say that he is rude or can be mean at some times for making Mary Breau run at practice or refusing to give high fives to his players, those people are wrong because Colin is only trying to get his players to be more focused and on task. In this paper i will show how Colin inspires his team, and is preparing them for the best in their soccer careers. Bully, or Colin inspires his team by giving all of his teams motivational speeches at practices. Colin will tell his players how and what they have to do to be better. He directs his teams by saying his famous lines, “rubbish” or in happier times “brilliant”. By giving his players these inspiring words and amazing inspirational speeches he is making them stronger in soccer and better outside of soccer. These speeches draw the attention of every player listening and makes them all want to impress Colin to get on his good side, because if you are not on his good side he will make you run (refer to Mary Breau). …show more content…
Colin’s jokes are what drove me to write this paper on hoe he is inspiring in the first place. At practice, and before and after games Colin is just a pal as any “mate” on the team by joking around and making everyone laugh. Like i mentioned earlier his players often want to be on his good side, otherwise he will disapprove and it will make you want to work harder, so no matter what his players will try and stay on his good side. Another thing Colin excels at is juking people out, he has made Mary Breau trip and fall many times, and people seem to think that is quite
We may be behind on the scoreboard at the end of the game but if you play like that, we cannot be defeated.” He used pathos to hit the player’s soul by explaining himself, explaining that he doesn’t want the team to be the champion by winning, he wanted the team to be the champion by showing their hard work and their passion on the field. And also the coach is using logos by bringing up the six Sons of Marshall, the six players, the six teammates who went away by a plane
In the following essay, I will argue that Herbert “Herb” Brooks was a charismatic leader due to his powerful motivation and his high expectations. He expected great things from the players he coached, but mostly, he expected them to think of the team and not themselves. He motivated with a powerful punch, mostly through fear, but was able to unite his teams and eventually the country.
... Kilmore coach them, and winning the game without a coach. He was on the inside, he saw the affect that the game was having on his friends and wanted to do something right to fix it. That took a lot of guts for him to do that. Although I think being involved in a sport is a positive thing, but in this situation it was not.
As I have asserted, coaching is far more than winning or losing. A coach is an essential cog in shaping qualities such as sportsmanship, competitiveness, self discipline, and work ethic. A quality coach can build a player up while a bad coach can tear them down. My goal as a coach was to always leave the player striving to be the best they could be. A good coach
However, this is not really a direct correlation to the coach’s effectiveness in a particular sport, being that there are many other factors in coaching a team other than game records. The coach’s job is to enhance the athlete physically, socially, and psychologically, winning is only considered a by-product of that job (Gillham, Burton, & Gillham, 2013). Gillham, Burton, and Gillham (2013) focused on developing a Coaching Success Questionnaire-2 to allow a means of evaluating other aspects of a coach’s interaction with their athletes as both a research and coach development tool. A sample group of athletes at the varsity and club level ranging from ages 18 to 25 was used to develop the questionnaire by asking their perceptions of their coaches.
He uses repetition with the word “tonight” as he says it countless times throughout his speech. In the beginning of the speech as an example he states, “That’s what you have here, tonight boys. That’s what you’ve earned here tonight.” Another time in the speech is when he is telling his players about how tonight they will give it their all. Even though they aren’t the best, they’re going to do it. He states “not tonight. Tonight, we skate with them. Tonight, we stay with them.” By using repetition on the word tonight, and saying it at the end, or beginning of most sentences emphasizes a lot on the players. It’s telling them, and engraving in them how big this is. That this is a one time opportunity, and that this is the only chance they’ll get at something this big. It doesn’t make them think that they’re the best team. It makes them believe that they don’t have to be. All they have to do is get it done tonight, one time. On the audience this gives the audience hope. It makes the audience feel that it is possible, and also that they are capable of achieving what most people believe is
A proper coaching philosophy contains principles which improve character development, teach step by step tactical and technical skills, form proper progressive physical training regimens, and carefully utilize team management to handle and control problems with administrative issues. A coach with a sound philosophy should mold a team with strong cohesion, and he should treat players not only as teammates, but as family and friends who are encouraged to develop communication and lifelong learning of skills through positive support and role modeling from the coach (Mergelsberg, 14-15). The philosophy should also contain written documents of implemented strategies and techniques, so that the coach will know what to improve upon season by season
He spots and greatly supports and empowers young players and brings them into the set-up quickly and He is not afraid to give young players a chance to play for the national team. Rob Howley assistant coach quotes “ Gatland's strengths is the empathy he has for players. He is not afraid to call off a training session if he feels the players are too tired.” Welsh Player Dan Lydiate quotes “He has built a club environment where we are like a family." Warren creates a great deal of importance on the players’ families and life outside the squad.
The seminars would include such topics as how to maintain control of one’s temper, how to involved a coach should be in a player’s life and where the boundaries are, and also how to use positive reinforcements rather than negative. The coaches would need to go through this training before every new season of their respective sport to stay current on the techniques, as well as be reminded of the importance of being aware of how problems can arise if bullying may occur. Another important aspect of this program would be the evaluation done on the coach’s performance as a coach by the players. This would allow the players a chance to prevent problems from happening in the future by informing the administration. The evaluations would then be

Coaching, however challenging, is a great way to influence the lives of others while also building their character. For as long as there have been sports, there have been people teaching the sport to the players and making them better at it. Coaches must have certain qualities in order to obtain success. One must also look at a coach’s motivation for his job, his passion for what he does, his methods for coaching, and how he became a coach in order to fully understand him. There are many questions someone may want to ask a coach about his profession if they are interested in coaching. Some questions would include: Why did he choose this as a profession? How did he get into coaching? What does one have to do to get a job as a coach? How does a coach become successful? I aim to answer all of these questions and more in my paper.

“People are remarkably bad at remembering long lists of goals. One may have learned this at a professional level when trying to get my high-performance coaching clients to stay on track; the longer their lists of to-dos and goals, the more overwhelmed and off-track they got. Clarity comes with simplicity.” As a child he always looked at being able to play or coach a sport at the professional level. For the reason of me just loving the game of Basketball.
