It’s important to understand that the path will incline in it’s calamity, especially for youth, but it’s crucial for the pursuit of knowledge. The intercontinental world we live in is complete with diversity, making it essential for people to engage in educating themselves about all the wonders of the world. While taking into account that the pursuit of knowledge is a progressive road. Knowledge will then promote one into self-awareness, a chance for one to learn about themselves. During the pursuit of self-awareness, one learns to identify their strengths and weakness. This is a susceptible region, where youth must remember not to become indistinguishable with everyone else. Nevertheless, it allows for the pursuit of authenticity, the construction of one’s unique self. Then comes the horizon, the light behind the
For all teens, the transition into adulthood is generally seen as a challenging and scary process. For teens diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as well as their caregivers, this transition is often more complicated. The period of transition for individuals with ASD into adulthood is intensely more challenging due to their “unique characteristics, the lack of services that address the special needs of such individuals in adulthood, and the expectations of society for a typical path to adulthood in the face of atypical problems” (Geller and Greenberg, 2009, pg. 93). Without the necessary resources to transition, teens with ASD find themselves unprepared for life at work, in college, or community living. Through this paper, the reader will obtain knowledge in regards to what ASD is, the barriers it yields concerning the transition into adulthood, and the effects it has on the individual as well
What makes you fail or succeed. There is a lot to what makes you fail or succeed but one of the biggest things that actually makes you fail or succeed and accomplish what you do is simply your mindset. There are mainly two types of mindsets between people.A growth and a fixed mindset. These two mindsets were created by Dr.Dweck who is a professor in psychology at the university of Standford. There is a fixed mindset and a growth mindset.A fixed mindset is a mindset where you believe that you can't grow your intelligence at all and you were just born with your intelligence.People with Fixed mindsets will give up a lot often and not try. On the other hand there is the exact opposite; a growth mindset.People with growth mindsets are people who
Leadership skills are not always a gift given to everyone at birth, for some like me, it is something that has to be nurtured and developed. The natural gifts I possess would be that of nurturing and caring for others. Things that come easily to others is something I must work at to become proficient, the skills are there but must be coaxed and encouraged to blossom and exert the abilities that lie within me. Over time God had endowed me with the ability to step up naturally and take the reins of leadership, not because of who I am but because of who He is and the work that God has for me.
Erik Erikson developed eight psychosocial stages that occur through life. These stages help parents of younger children understand what the child is thinking and why they are acting the way that they do. For a person to become a well-rounded adult they need to succeed in each level. This essay will discuss the first six stages into young adulthood.
Development is defined as the pattern of change that begins at conception and continues through the life-span (Santrock, 2017, p. 4). Erik Erikson was a psychologist and a psychoanalyst, who believed humans develop and change throughout the life span and must go through eight human developmental stages. From being an infant to maturing into an older adult (after retirement), Erikson believed that there are requirements that everyone must reach before they can enter the next phase of life. If the person does not reach the development stage that is expected of their age, they would face social and or emotional conflicts. His views were compared to two individuals, a female aged twenty-one and another aged fifty-three. Both individuals were interviewed
It has been said, “The hardest part about growing up, is letting go of what you were used to; and moving on with something you’re not” (insert citation). Everyone grows up in different places, but it is the ability to move on that allows each person to grow. I have spent my fair share of time in different places, especially with being a ‘military brat.’ Places change people, not because they are a specific geographical coordinate, but because the people one comes across in the different places affects her. My life became what it is because I fell in love with new people and made memories in Oregon, Texas, Nevada, and New York.
One of the tenets of personal development is to bring about a behavior change. If you want to develop yourself, you need to change your behavior to some degree.

From birth to age 13, I always took for granted the privilege of having a caring father, who acted as a confidant, who exposed me to new ideas, thus being a catalyst for my further development. Upon losing my main bastion of emotional care, I was given the responsibility of finding myself with very little aid from my busy single mother,
While thinking about what helped me grow as a person, I decided to go with something that literally helped me grow as a person. Being scared of needles my entire life, I was immediately traumatized by the introduction of Human Growth Hormones into my life. Learning that I would need to take hormones to become ‘normal’ and like everyone else was not an easy decision. Until then I hadn’t realized just how much short stature had affected me, my confidence, my motivation, and my drive. It was a big decision to overcome the ease of the status quo. Starting off at 4’11’’ and finishing at 5’4’’ my height and my life was very much affected. Despite my fear of needles and blood, I agreed to subject myself to horrible injections every day. And I am so glad I did because if I hadn’t I might have never overcome my fears.
Why are personal growth, development, and continued learning so important? Personal growth is an ongoing process of self-discovery and crucial to achieving success in every area of your life. Jim Rohn, known as America's foremost business philosopher, said it best:
Personal Development is a lifelong process that involves the assessment of current skills and talents and the enhancement of oneself based on that assessment which then leads to the realization of goals and an improved quality of life. To be able to assess yourself, you need to be able to reflect on your past which helps you to understand the attitudes you have developed and the foundation that you will be building your life on. Also, you have to reflect on your present to see if there’s room for improvement and reflect on your future so that you can achieve your aspirations.
