High School Community Service

Many people see it as a responsibility to help out the community. Others see it as a waste of time. Although it looks very good on a college application, many teens do not participate in community service. Community service may seem like a waste of time or not a priority for teens. Knowing that around the nation some school have community service as a graduation requirement may startle many people. In my personal opinion I think that for some teens and kids that attend high school community service should be a requirement for some classes. It is very important to help your community. I think that living in a small town makes a huge difference when deciding what to do around the community. I have been living in the same small town for my entire life. I think growing up and living in a small town everyone gets to know each other so people are more willing to help out. If more teens did their community service by helping around town it would make the town more interesting and enjoyable to tourists. If we have more tourists enjoying our town and passing through there is a chance that would bring a little more money into the town 's economy. Also by helping clean up the town is would make the town a safer place for small children. For example, I have been to other towns where they do not clean the streets or the parks very well and the children playing can be open to hazardous materials. It would be a good thing to keep the town parks clean for people to enjoy, I also think that it is a good thing to help clean around town because it would give people more of a positive outlook on the town as a whole.
