Physical exercise is any bodily activity that enhances or maintains physical fitness and general health and wellness. It is used for strengthening muscles and the cardiovascular system, perfecting sport skills, weight loss or purely for enjoyment. Regular exercise helps boost the immune system and also helps prevent certain diseases such as heart disease, cardiovascular disease, Type 2 diabetes and obesity. It also helps with the prevention on depression as it helps with positive thinking and a positive self esteem and mental health in general
During my high school years I didn’t participate in many sports as I don’t consider myself to be sporty but rather a cultural person, however, I did participate in netball in grade 10 and did Latin American dancing for several years until the end of grade 10 , go to the gym and run Parkruns regularly. Dancing was every Monday for an hour and Netball was on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3-5 where it would include learning and practicing skills of the sport and fitness which was made up of cardio and dynamic stretches. Gym was made up of a programme that would be followed at least 3 times a week and I would do Parkrun, which was a 5km run every Saturday morning.

It will keep me strong and healthy as I grow older. I intend to continue going to the gym regularly where a fitness programme is followed as well as doing Parkruns as it is a good form of cardio and I get a good inflow of air whilst gaining strength, keeping fit and even engaging with nature as you run through around the park. I plan to join pilates class as it builds strength, flexibility, muscular endurance, coordination, balance, and good posture which will be beneficial for the future as I grow

The human race has been dependent on automobiles, discouraging people to walk or bike, increasing the chance of a poor life-style. Young people are growing into a diverse society, which is characterized by rapid change, inactive work and leisure practices that influence unhealthy behaviors. By incorporating physical activity into peoples daily routine will increase their chances of being healthier, reducing certain diseases and learning how to avoid injuries. Physical education helps students improve their knowledge about health issues and practices that will lead to a more enjoyable life.
