Can a fashion show have an emotional effect on people? Can it have a greater affect if it was a black-and-white contrasting? This music video wolves is a black-and-white contrast visual Balmain campaign ad with a description of the brand, which is known to be bold and to having a higher fashion mindset, it not just garments its deeper than garments. A fashion show, being more than a fashion show, Kanye West and Balmain’s collaboration on “Wolves” uses various camera shots, camera techniques, and lighting, and post-production techniques.

With the pan shot of a low-angle facing up towards the moon, gave the illusion as if your walking in the woods looking up, made one feel like the you’re there. With the wide shot of a ceiling lamp swinging back and forth in a dark room, made myself and other viewers bracing for something to happen being used to seeing scenes similar in thrill and scary movies. To add to the woods setting there was a quick shot of a POV shot of a wolf/human running quickly through the woods, giving it a more of a setting in the setting vibe to a lone wolf being in the woods. When Kanye We4st starts his 3rd verse, he is in a room full of models and his wife that are at a standstill like statues, whom were all under one light from above. As he continues to rap, he walks between the models, weaving in and out, and even gets behind some models ass if he was trying to hide. The black-and-white contrast gave the film a feeling elegancy. Dramatic shadows and highli9ghts are best when kept at full range of midtown, which is best achieved with strong backlights and key lights. Without color a viewer’s focus point willingly be attracted to sharp contrast. So when shooting making sure lighting is great will be everything because, if not it will be picked up in post-production and there will either have to be a reshoot or change in shades that twill have to be made in post-production.
