First of all, we were made face-to-face group. Secondly, we were made the virtual group project. Last week, we started the virtual group project. Our group were overcome the biggest challenge. In the beginning, our team was meet face-to-face the first time we get together. In the face-to-face group, we can see each person and have more free talk than the virtual group. Face-to-face group will be more easily to talk ideas, but it will occupy more time on meeting. Virtual group will be more efficient. For instance, in the virtual group, we can talk clearly that someone to finish which part and write own parts on the google doc, and if someone want to add somethings, they can easily use the google doc. If in the face-to-face group, we should have meeting and discuss the opinion and then to finish the project. And always someone was not coordinate and just did her own and never discuss with group members before. It will waste more time to contact with
Group interaction: is a procedure by which verbal and nonverbal messages are traded between a constrained numbers, normally from 3 to 20 individuals. This typically happens in a meeting, for example, school, healing centre, care home and school inside of the staffs. In the course of the group communication, each individual will attempt and get their thoughts and considerations crosswise over to the general population in the

The concept of a group proposal is to form a session plan that offers therapeutic services to a certain population. To compose a planning, the procedure for this development must follow a certain framework before it is accepted by both supervisor and potential members (Corey, Corey, & Corey, 2014). Therefore, a proposal must include the purpose of creating the group session, meeting times and place, recruitment planning, and group objectives and size. Subsequently, the type of group, multicultural and diversity awareness, the use of methods related to group goals, and assessment techniques must also be taken into consideration.
The Everest team simulation was a valuable experience that taught me how to apply the foundations of the management course into real and first-hand team situations. The success of a team and their performance depends on their initial stage of development as well as their structure. A team with an established team structure and maturity over the different stages of group development proved to be extremely successful. The decision making and conflict resolution techniques were also influential in the overall performance of a team. Ultimately, effective communication is the key to success when working in a team. On the other hand, ineffective communication may be the team’s downfall. The simulation exercise was a solid example towards work group situations and is a valuable first-hand experience.
The process of forming virtual teams is very crucial and plays a significant role in the success of a virtual team, since the team members can be formed from virtually anywhere. As such, the management of the particular organizations needs to take significant care in the formation of virtual teams. Lerner (2008), did say that the leaders of distributed teams should have a heightened sense of awareness of the various subgroup formations and their weaknesses”. Thus the formation of virtual teams is critical to ensuring the objectives for a given project are met and the chemistry of the team is proper to achieve given goals. Karayaz (2006) did define thr...
In the past, communications primarily consisted of phone calls or typed messages put onto a bulletin board. Meetings were held in conference rooms with information and ideas being exchanged by conversation and on whiteboards or flip charts on easels (Burg, 2013). Phone calls were generally a one-to-one way to exchange ideas and information with some organizations using conference calls, where multiple people could talk and listen during one call. These ideas and communications were then spread throughout the organization by memos and word of mouth. In some cases, members of an organization never received the intended messages. When using these methods of communication, information was spread at a slower and sporadic pace in an organization.
The first chapter of “Working in Groups” focuses on group communication, the first aspect being the key elements of group communication (Engleberg and
Remaining focused on the overall goals and objectives of a project can become an issue if these are not consistently restated by managers or team leaders. Without the advantage of regular and ad hoc personal meetings, members of virtual teams may misinterpret, inadvertently change, or lose focus on the goals of the project. Because of this, individuals are charged with a greater responsibility to remain focused on both expected outcomes and objectives (Chinowsky & Rojas, 2003).
The successful passing of information creates an important bond between virtual team members. “Without creating the connections, a virtual team can’t do what it needs to; function as a cohesive unit” (Thompson, n.d., Introduction section, ¶2). Information should be specific to the task at hand with a common goal in mind. Complete and accurate information not only helps a team reach its goal, but it also avoids problems and conflicts that arise between members. The importance of clear, concise information in a virtual team can not be stressed enough; however, timing should also be considered when sharing information. Information not received in a timely fashion also jeopardizes the cohesiveness of the team.
In order to evaluate my role within the group, it is important to identify what makes a group. A group must firstly consist of more than three members, “Two members have personal relationships; with three or more there is a change in quality” of the personal relationship. (Bion 1961, p26) The group must have a common purpose or a goal in order to succeed. Having now completed my group work task, I can look back and reflect upon the process that my group went through to get to the presentation end point.
It is well known that the team work is far better than performing a task individually. Such kind of practice plays a very important role in software engineering. A lot of things can be achieved together with the combination of diversified people, as they input different tactics and skills so that the main objective of a certain mission can be accomplished appropriately. Even though teaming up and working for a project is essential and helpful; there exist some issues that could bring interruptions and conflicts in the team.
Virtual teams – virtual team is one of the most popular teams in every organization because in virtual team the member are separated in different nation and use technologies to communicate to accomplish their goal on the time.
In the third week, group reached Norming stage (Tuckman, 1965) and by considering everyone’s availability from classes and job commitments, every Wednesday’s were decided to meet for the team meetings. Besides, a group was created on ‘whatsapp’ (a smartphone application) known as ‘Healthcare assignment group’ for quick interactions and to update members about any changes to group meetings. It definitely proved an important application for completion of our team’s project. Then due to arguments regarding meetings and content of the presentation, the need for a group leader was felt who will make a final decision. Consequently, team member M nomi...
The first task my learning team was confronted with was coming up with an effective method of communicating. "High-performing teams have extensive communication mechanisms. They communicate regularly with each other wither in person, via telephone, or through e-mail and keep those unable to attend meetings informed of the group's progress." (Teams in the Workplace, Pg. 317) We decided to use an Instant Messenger chat for its real time communication and message logging ability to allow us to keep those not able to make the chat informed.
