Effectively managing all aspects of the project is a challenge and taxing on the group leader. I feel no aspect should be neglected during this process; I will discuss the three aspects that I believe are critical to its success. Those key elements are; building the right team, communication and management of expectations.
All the team members were well aware of their individual roles and their team’s role. As our team was multi-cultural, some arguments were already expected. In order to gain some purpose while working in a group, I know it can be challenging task to do because every group member is required to agree and cooperate. I am privileged to become a part of a group and completed our task successfully. Working in a group can be a very challenging task. However if everyone in the group has the same end goal it can also be quite easy. Though group projects can be easy, they can quickly become stressful when things get hard. Whether it is decision making, conflicts, scheduling conflicts or overall participation conflicts, there will always be adversities that arise within a group and their project. Therefore, given my recent experience with my group, I can definitely state that group projects have their difficulties but if everyone is willing to make an effort to be engaged, the experience can be great exposure to valuable lifelong skills.
Several experiments and researches have been conducted that have focused on how people behave in groups. The findings have revealed that groups affect peoples’ attitudes, behavior and perceptions. Groups are essential for personal life, as well as in work life.
