Uncontrollable and Controllable AYSO relies on approximately 125,000 volunteers to ensure each season concludes without a hitch. Because of this, the coaches come from a large pool of volunteers and have things that may get in the way when choosing to volunteer year after year with AYSO. Noticing the retention rate problem raises the questions as to why they are choosing to leave.
