While having the latest and best electronic devices in the world can be fun, essential, or both, the addiction of having them come at high cost to ourselves and our world. More than 3.6 million people around the different continent of the world use electronics and suffer from eye strains, vision loss and brain damage from hours of screen time. I usually see a lot of kids who are suffering eye problems because of electronics. In this exciting age of technology, technology sometimes seems to have taken control of our everyday lives from how we do things to how we act. Many teens suffer long-term and short-term effects of too much screen time. However, this problem can be stopped in three ways: using fewer electronics, spending less money on electronics, and becoming part of afterschool programs or joining sports to forget all about electronics. People around the world use technology every day, and it affects them in both negative and …show more content…
positive ways. The high energy light from digital screens is causing irreparable damage to our eyes by worsen the retinas. The short-term impact will be a lot of people will have eye strains from hours of screen time that can result in eye irritation, dryness, fatigue or blurred vision. The long-term impact will be, people who spend too much on electronics will lack in normal social skills that are needed to help them, get blind, or most likely to get a brain damage. People who use electronics a lot are more likely to communicate less than the person who does not use electronics a lot.
Every morning when you wake up the first thing you look at is your phone and most likely it shows you what’s new on that day, it keeps showing you new things to make you use electronics, and that is why most people lose their eyesight or go blind. According to the Feed by M. T. Anderson page 5 show as for how electronics will affect our future “There is nothing but the feed telling you, this is the music you heard. This is the music you missed. This is what is new. Listen.” If this problem stops and people start using fewer electronics, more people would not lose their eyesight and will have a better eyesight than the person who uses it a lot. If this problem keeps going it will cause humanity a lot of trouble like the economy will drop and since most people are blind there will not be a lot of workers. Electronics didn’t only make people lose their vision it also makes them spend so much money on
electronics. In this era of technology, electronics show you what you want and what want to buy. One adult spends more than $2,000 in electronics, while one adult with at least one kid at home spends almost $3,000 in one year, this shows you how people are becoming attractive to electronics and willing to spend a lot of money in electronics. If this problem keeps going many people will become poor for spend a lot of money in electronics. The good thing is the companies who make electronics made a lot of money from it but is bad for the people who are buying, some of them are becoming broke for that and lose all their money for doing online shoppings. The best solution for this problem is people need to spend less money on technology and think about their future even though technology helps people a lot it also damages them so bad in different ways. Electronics damage people in different ways it also made kids become less active in sports or activities. The last solution for solving electronic problems is don’t always feel alone be part of programs like after school programs or join sports teams. In America, 94% families with kids have at least have one computer in the home with access to the internet. Children don’t know the effects of electronics all they care is sitting in front of a computer for hours and that stresses their eyes because the computer forces the kid's vision system to focus and force a lot more than any other duty. This can put kids in greater endanger than adults for developing physical and mental features of computer vision conditions. Before computers and electronics weren’t discovered, kids were more active than they are right now and this shows that electronics are affecting kids in negative ways like making them not do anything except sit in front of a computer. In this incredible age of technology, technologies help people a lot but at the same time, it affects them in negative ways. More people in the world are suffering vision loss or brain damaged because of too much screen time. Next time you use electronics think about everything else you could be doing that matters, instead of looking at the screen watching movies doing something else that hurt your eye sites. Using electronics in this world has become a big problem, but fixing it start with you. Make time in your day to be outside playing sports or enjoying the weather instead of using electronics and stay committed to it.
“Get off your phone.” “I’m taking that laptop away.” Many children have dealt with their parents barging into their rooms and telling them to get off their electronics. Parents believe it is not healthy and therefore should be restricted. The two articles, “Blame Society, Not the Screen Time” by Dana Boyd and “Don’t Limit Your Teen’s Screen Time” by Chris Bergman, both talk about how parents should not limit their kid’s screen time. Both authors are writing to parents of children who they think spend way too much time on their electronics. However, Dana Boyd has a much better compelling argument for not restricting teenager’s screen time. Boyd has a much better appeal to both audiences. She manages to employ better uses of both pathos and logos
Technology can disrupt people’s train of thought. To begin with, many people around the world use technology. Electronics can help students and also affect them in many ways, but whether or not shutting down all electronics can help. Schools should participate in “Shut Down Your Screen Week” because of many reasons. First of all, using electronics causes people to get distracted.
Television, or screen time, has become a large part of today's society. Whether it's by way of smart-phones, a television, a computer, or a tablet, screen time has negative effects on the cognitive ability of children and adolescents. It has even been proven that it can lead to Alzheimer's disease when a person, in the age range of 20-60 years old, views an hour more than the recommended amount of screen time a day (Sigman 14). In children, the amount of screen time viewed has a relationship with the likelihood of developing a deficit in his attention span; the longer a child views screen time, the more likely he is to be diagnosed with an attention disorder. Screen time, or television, can cause attention disorders and other problem with cognitive abilities in children and adolescents that effect the education they can comprehend.
Since the Internet has emerged from society, access to information has been made readily available for anyone to discover. The Internet connects us to the world everyday, whether at work or at home. It helps us communicate with others; via email, social networking, or blogging. With the absents of the Internet, our society would be missing out on a vast amount of knowledge. Therefore, the Internet is unmistakably beneficial for society to use as part of their daily lives. Also, cell phones have evolved from being solely in place for emergencies, to searching the Internet and paying bills. People of all ages are using cell phones, whether for work or pleasure. There are so many technological devices in our society; however, this technology can be misleading. Ever since my parents were born, technology was not advanced as it is today. However, they grew up as educated people without the need of outsource help, such as internet, while doing their assignments. As we are in the twenty first century, technology has become very important in everybody in any society. Did you know that technology can be just as addicting as a cigarette? Recently, researchers have been testing the effects of the constant usage of screens on our bodies. To many people, using screens is very convenient and helpful and can help many students with their everyday homework. However, our school should still participate in Shut Down Your Screen Week because it will allow us to focus on what is important, lets us better evaluate social situations with a well night’s rest, and too much use of screens can give us shallow relationships.
Although Though technology can be good, it can be worse than good, such as people always with their faces on their phones and headphones in their ears, people neglecting books and using more online text, and people wasting their lives watching TV.Children now know how to use a phone faster than they can
It’s summer and kids love playing outside, but some kids are sitting in their house and playing on their devices. Kids spend to much time on their devices so, to help with that parents should limit their children’s time on their devices, because if they spend to much time on their devices it can make them have brain problems, not have enough exercise, and bad eyesight.
The amount of screen time teenagers are using have been continuously raising at an an alarming rate. “A number of troubling studies connect delayed cognitive development in kids with extended exposure to electronic media” (Margalit 1). Although social media comforts people in time of need, people that are on social media more often than others have less gray matter and kids who spend more time on the internet have a harder time with emotions; therefore, parents should enforce the AAP's recommendation for screen time usage.

The overuse of technology may interfere with a students’ ability to learn and attend lessons. Electronic devices are designed to save time and help people to be more efficient. However, it causes addiction, health, and behavior problems.
The opinions of many people vary on technology and the effects it has on today’s society. Some say that it’s more beneficial than anything, others completely disagree, and some have mixed emotions. There has been a long lasting debate in the resent years on whether or not technology has a positive or negative impact on today’s kids. As the years move on, the negative effects have begun to outnumber the positive. The generations previous spent their childhood making forts, fishing, and using their imaginations, contrary to today’s generations who spend their free time texting, playing video games, and watching videos. Damaging effects such as decreases in school performances, addiction to electronics, and lack of brain development have all been linked to the electronic media stimulation. In order to prevent the future generation from following in the current generations footsteps, one must full comprehend just how much technology impacts
Today’s teens in the US spend more than 7 1/2 hours a day on screens. Nowadays there are so many things to do on electronics, so teens spend a lot of time on them. Society has been impacted both negatively and positively by technology. As a result, every aspect of our lives has been influenced by technology. Hence, life is easier, yet it has taken away some of the enjoyment. For example, remember the days of less stress and more personal interaction, when there were no online messages, no emails, social media or cell phones. We have become excessively dependent on technology. As a result, we need to rely less on technology even though it has made learning fun, and business, daily tasks, work, travel, shopping, making new friends and staying in touch easier. In conclusion, technology has a lot of benefits, yet it could take over our lives and become our worst enemy if we aren't careful.
In conclusion, technology affects the way we communicate both good and bad. It helps us to communicate easier, quicker and cheaper. The technologies give the information of the society, so it also helps us to communicate with society. However, technologies also harm to us. People are too much dependent on technologies, so people lose ability to think their own idea, write and calculate properly. Also, technologies make our privacy to easily invade.
