The success of the organization depends on how the leaders utilize their management and leadership skills in the organization. Mission, vision and core values of the organization are posted everywhere in the organization to remind every stakeholder about their accountability and responsibility in accordance to the corporate goals. This can’t be effective without successful leadership approach. Effective leader must know how, when and where to communicate the shared vision of the organization to its stakeholders. The goal is to align personal values with the corporate values to reach optimum level of satisfaction towards the work, and the company expectations to its stakeholders. Ineffective leaders are not capable of employing this. They are not capable of employing management by objective or the ability of the managers to align the objective of the all the units and departments of the organization into the organizational goals and values. MBO starts with setting organizational objectives, followed by cascading objectives down to employees-cascading objectives down to employees requires adoption of SMART approach to ensure that goals are attainable and accountable (Mindtools, 2014)
According Hughes, Beatty, and Dinwoodie’s ( 2014) work on strategy, all areas of an organization need to collaborate with each other to help bring strategy to fruition. They mentioned four elements of leadership strategy. (1) Leadership Drivers of Business Strategy. This is the identification of and the preparing of leaders to implement strategy. Certain skills, abilities and resources need to be in place prior to a strategies’ roll out. When the correct leaders have the proper skill sets are in place coupled with the backing of the organization this may create a dynamic situation. Hughes et al. The role of leadership can impact an organization performance in many ways. Excellent leadership can propel a company to the fortune five hundred list. Leaders: Strategies for Taking Charge is an organizational management book written by Warren Bennis and Burt Nanus for those who aim to become better leaders. The authors emphasize that having executive positions or being a manager does not automatically make one a leader. A leader is one who inspires his staff, help them find purpose in their work, and effectively implement their plans. They separate the book not quite into chapters on different topics, but rather by four strategies that they have determined are vital for any leader to take on. The strategies are effectively concluded as attention through vision, meaning through communication, trust through positioning, and the deployment of self. A prominent feature of Leaders is the various
Leadership has been defined as the process whereby an individual influences others in accomplishment of shared objectives. Leadership is not a one-way linear event in which only the leader affects the followers but a process through which leaders influence and they are affected by their followers. It is undisputable truth that the success or failure of an enterprise is dependent on the presence of a visionary leader who is able to offer direction in achieving the business’s objectives. Leaders are known to inspire and instill a sense of dedication and zeal to their followers which are principles crucial for success. There is tendency to view leadership in the context of highly successful business enterprises in the world that has led to the misconception that leaders are great and famous people. Successful corporations in the world have relied on the genius of their leaders to succeed. Nonetheless, in response to the changing global business environment and operations, the need for individual leaders or teams has increased significantly. The external business environment has become increasingly dynamic with uncertainty and demands for change being the two major issues faced by corporations.
When considering the term management, there has always been a common miss conception that this automatically makes an individual a leader. Leadership is only a single element of the management role. Many times managers are more comfortable utilizing a particular leadership style. While this may work well the majority of the time, certain employees or situations may require a different approach. Good leadership requires that the individual recognize the need for change to motivate their employees to accomplish the task at hand or to reach common goals. Understanding the importance of leadership is essential. However, the key element to focus on is what steps can be taken to improve one’s leadership capabilities. For many individuals this may be a difficult question to answer and may only be possible through self-assessment and reflection.
Schultz has had a lot of success with Starbucks, not only in revenue but he has continued to expand the brands in their portfolio, increase store locations and reach all new highs. Starbucks is now an international company with more than 21,000 stores in over 65 countries (Starbucks Coffee International, n.d.). Starbucks believes their global success has a lot to do with their international partners. Schultz explained it nicely when he said, “We remain highly respectful of the culture and traditions of the countries in which we do business. We recognize that our success is not an entitlement, and we must continue to earn the trust and respect of customers every day” (Starbucks Coffee International, n.d.). Schultz continually sees opportunity and the ability for growth, with an increase in locations across the globe every year and the ability to keep up with the latest in technology (websites, online shopping, a Starbucks application with the ability to pay and reload loyalty cards on your smart phone), etc.
Running a restaurant can be one of the most stressful jobs as well as the most fun and rewarding jobs. Leadership is one of the most important facets in organizations. In most cases, leaders act with respect to organizational culture as well as the codes of conduct that determine the manner in which leaders relate with subordinates. Leadership entails the use of effective communication skills to get activities done in the workplace and to ensure that employees shelve their individual interests for the sake of their organizations’ shared targets. It is the role of leaders to ensure that consumers attain high quality products and services by making certain that members of their firms’ workforce are fully motivated to work effectively and utilize resources in an efficient manner (Bass, 22). With the increasingly sophisticated nature of the corporate world, leadership should not be based solely on the desire to control and coordinate affairs within the workplace, but leaders should also exhibit positive examples and continually monitor the changing trends in corporate governance to initiate the most relevant guidelines. Competitiveness can only be attained when leaders are in a position to set the right standards in their firms and coordinate affairs appropriately by understanding consumer and employee needs.
Strategic Leadership The only thing harder than being a strategic leader is trying to define the entire scope of strategic leadership a broad, difficult. concept. The symposia are a lot of fun. We cannot always define it or describe it in every detail.
Leader should have the shared responsibility and collaborative quality. For example, instead of making the strategy alone, he will gather the idea of all brilliant workers to increase the productivity of the organisation.

This paper states my points in which I duly believe, justifies the importance of an outstanding leader in any organization.
