Being told what to do is not what I would like. Mr. Bloomberg proposes to ban soda for the New York population! But don’t worry, this plan will fail due to the many people that consume and buy soda. His plan has already been rejected by the court, which is why the ban won’t be successful. First, the soda ban is not a good idea because people have the right to purchase what they like. The residents of New York will still purchase sodas and make their own decisions. If they have already been drinking soda for a while, it is unlikely that they will give it up. According to experts, “Many soft drinks contain caffeine and caffeine is mildly addictive.” Many will say, “Soda is unhealthy and has way too many sugars.” Or, “Having too much …show more content…

if soda were to get ban, then all the other unhealthy stuff would have to get banned too. That’s something that we can’t agree on. You may say that more people drink soda than the other drinks and If we reduce the main drink, it can help in keeping New York less obese. But, if we were to take out soda, they will just drink more juice and find a way to order soda online. Juices have almost as much sugar as soda. Some even have more depending on what it is. For example, apple juice has 39 grams of sugar and more calories. Soda has 40. Why isn’t no one protesting about apple juice? Finally, banning soda will hurt the economy. Coca cola on its own has made 11.5 billion dollars in sales last year. Banning this will influence the economy in a bad way and the economy is already in bad spot. If you think the money can be put to other more natural drinks that can then keep the economy stable, what about those who work for the soda companies?
