Choosing a career is more of a personal decision. Most pediatricians say they love and want to help children and young adults, including their families. Being a Pediatrician is a wonderful way to help children in ways most people can not. Many people say this job is very difficult to handle because it can get stressful. They say there is not much room for personal time or family time, but in the end it can be quite rewarding.
Some say this job is easy, but they don’t live the life of a pediatrician. They say all they do is examine and determine problems that may exist within children. Really, pediatricians do a lot more, such as communicate with parents or social workers if they believe there is a problem within the family or order test if necessary. (Field, Shelly) They also recommend treatment, types of medication, surgery, and rehabilitation. (Career Cruising) Lots of pediatricians get involved with their patients by helping them through tough times, such as puberty or family problems. They help by assisting them when they need to communicate with a social worker, family member, or any other health care worker. (Career Cruising) Pediatricians mainly encounter diseases and other problems such as allergies, asthma, drug abuse, lead poisoning, and acne because doctors usually catch these things in the younger stages of life. There are many work places for a pediatrician to work, such as a hospital, a private practice office, a health maintenance organization, community health centers, public health clinics, military and government, and even schools. Pediatrician’s earnings are enough to make a great living on. In the beginning it can be expensive to go through all of the schooling that is needed, but once completed this job can be quit rewarding.

The career path that I want to pursue is in the medical field. I major in psychology and minor in biology because going to medical school has always been my desire. Being a pediatrician is my goal I wish to conquer. I am beyond interested and passionate about this career. It is not just a career, it is my life dreams. I want to be able to enjoy going to work every day knowing I love my job and I am here because I want to. Being a pediatrician I am able to work with children and many people of different cultures. I am thrilled to know that I will be capable of caring for sick children.
First I would like to state that any career in a medical field takes a lot of dedication and many hours studying and it is not for everyone. I would also like to say once an individual has made a career out of it the job has long hours and can be very stressful, so I suggest readers to not consider a career in medicine unless you are genuinely interested in the work, and are not in it just for the money.
The article,”What is a Physician?” (2012) explains that being patient, tolerable, and being flexible are very important that benefit all health care workers. The article “What is a Physician?”, also goes to states that these traits are important because they provide a positive environment for everybody working with you. The article, “What is a Physician?” (2012) also goes on to state that optimism is very important for pediatrics because it can make a good relationship with your other health care workers. The article, “What is a Physician?” also states that these qualities can help your health care worker to gain reputation and even increase your salary in this profession.
Every little kid has high exceptions for what they want to be when they grow up. Some dream of becoming president of the United States of America, or becoming an Astronaut, a lot of little kid’s say that they want to be a Doctor. What kids do not understand is that there are many types of doctors, like an orthopedic surgeon, they work with feet, or an oral surgeon, who work with the mouth. Another similarity to a doctor is a nurse practitioner. They do many of the same tasks, like performing minor surges, fixing broken bones, or simply giving a routine check up. Becoming a nurse practitioner takes many years of schooling, good grades, a lot of time and dedication, and money.
Children get injured or sick every day, and it doesn’t matter whether the child goes to a doctor or a pediatrician they are still tended to by a pediatric nurse. A pediatric nurse has to have many qualities. They also have to take many different classes. A pediatric nurse’s pay can vary from location to location depending on where they are working. Pediatric nurses must endure many different things to make it into this particular work field, and have many different qualities.
I appreciate that you have decided to share your personal experience within this post. Pediatric care is an entity within itself within the medical field. Ill children are extremely difficult to manage as patients and have the tendency to have a rapid change in status while patients in the hospital. Providing safe care for pediatrics during hospitalization is an area that I am not too familiar with. Working the ER I have had many pediatric patients, but the parents always remain with the patient. When peds patients are admitted, hospital protocol states that the patient must be present during the transfer of the patient to the admitting floor. So, in my experience the parent always provides the safety aspect of care in the ER, patient are expected
Have you ever wanted to be a doctor? Do you like kids? Well if you answered yes to these questions a pediatrician would be a great career choice for you.
The best life like in the career field is not being too busy also having to be able to be attentive. The lifelike in the career field of the pediatric nurse is their schedule is usually from 7Am-5pm just depending on where they are working on. Many of the hospitals close around 5 but some stay a little late just depending on where you're working. The life of a pediatric nurse is always changing so if you enjoy change this is a perfect place. If you don’t enjoy change it will be very hard for you to get it down at first, but you will get it if you stick to this
Now we enter the work environment and your daily tasks. The work environment varies depending on where you work, when you are a PA you have the option to work at a clinic, hospital, or just a private practice, your daily tasks still remain about the same. Your daily tasks when you are a PA consists of seeing patients, just like a doctor, ordering tests for patients, and prescribing medicine. Your working hours also vary depending on which facility you practice at, at a normal clinic you will usually work a 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule, If you work at a hospital and practice emergency medicine you can work very long hours, and you are on call 24/7. Working in a clinic is a very laid back and a relaxed environment, on the other hand working in a hospital is not for everyone, it is very hectic and you are constantly moving. There is little room for advancement, because the only advancement you have is to become a doctor. The steps you would have to take to advance to a physician are, take the Medical College Admissions Test or MCAT, Next you will complete 4 years of medical school, and then after completing that you will have 1 year of a residency.
A big part of pediatric nursing is the prevention and health education. Pediatric nursing is a very special vocation that allows you the opportunity to play an important role in child life when they need you the most. Their skills bring comfort to parent and children with illnesses and injuries. They devote their knowledge and skills to caring for children from birth until 18, sometimes even 21.
I have always wanted to work in the medical field since I was a child. Around four, I told my pediatrician during a well- check visit that I wanted to grow up and be just like her. My love of infants and children strongly influenced my career choice because I want to have the ability to help sick children who do not have the ability to help themselves. I have considered many options to enter the healthcare field from nurse, to doctor, and finally came to the conclusion that what I truly wanted out of my future resided in a career as a Physician Assistant. Becoming a PA is not something that I have considered lightly.
Many people in this world want to make a difference in life. However, most people do not want to put in all the effort that it takes to do so. The job of a pediatrician is life-changing to many. Unfortunately, it takes drive and effort that many people do not have, to become a pediatrician. A pediatrician’s job is a highly-skilled and interesting job because he or she has the privilege to deal with and help as many children as possible.
My career choice is to become a pediatrician. The question is: what makes this job so interesting or fantastic enough to be chosen? This job requires many sacrifices, skills, and strengths to endeavor the obstacles on the way to the goal. This particular job is also a very honorable and noble job in the sense of helping children with their illnesses and ailments. Personally, I love children and I’m always fascinated by their actions and interesting techniques of expressing themselves. Since I am intrigued by the children’s personality I love spending time with them (and that’s why their child-like ways rub off on me). Thus, I believe that my own childish personality and my love of children will motivate me in the near future to help them out with their medical needs. Also, being a pediatrician and helping out children has its own rewards. Not only will I be doing something I enjoy, but I will be getting paid a generous price as well. A pediatrician’s salary is not the highest one compared to surgeons or cardiologists, but it’s enough to have a life that is something more than simply satisfying. Another good aspect of this job is that they only focus on the health of children rather than all of the age groups. An adult and a child are so different they are nearly two different species. If a child is brought to a doctor who specializes in all age groups, the child would not be getting the same kind of attention that he or she would be getting, compared to that from a doctor who specializes only in children. Doctors that specialize in all age groups are used to make quick, rough, and fundamental actions need for the healing of the patient. One does not simply treat a child the same way an adult would be treated. The child would becom...
