Upon doing some research, I found that a pediatrician's main duty, and the type of the work done in the career. According to Gaither (2016), the author examines who a pediatrician is and what this chosen career does in health care. Gaither (2016) states that a pediatrician has many methods to successfully determine a child's health. Some examples stated by Gaither (2016) are that a pediatrician does physical exams, gives the child vaccinations, makes sure the child meets milestones in his or her development, a pediatrician also diagnoses illnesses, infections, or other injuries that the child may have, a pediatrician also gives advice for nutrition in foods, and answers questions that you may have about your child’s development. In the book by DeLaet (2013), it mentions the educational requirements for being a pediatrician. DeLaet (2013) mentions that pediatricians need a bachelor’s degree to enter medical school. Another requirement mentioned by Delaet is that all pediatricians must be licensed, or given authority to work, by the
This module of study has focused on many aspects of human health, anatomy, and the disease process. It has included such topics as the human organ systems, the mechanism of disease and the resulting disruption of homeostasis, the integumentary system, and the musculoskeletal system. The following case studies explore how burn classification will affect treatment, how joint injuries can disrupt mobility, and last, how a sedentary lifestyle can contribute to a decline in a person’s health status. The importance of understanding disease and knowing when to seek treatment is the first step toward enjoying a balanced and healthy life.
The cost of Medical equipment plays a significant role in the delivery of health care. The clinical engineering at Victoria Hospital is an important branch of the hospital team management that are working to strategies ways to improve quality of service and lower cost repairs of equipments. The team members from Biomedical and maintenance engineering’s roles are to ensure utilization of quality equipments such as endoscope and minimize length of repair time. All these issues are a major influence in the hospital’s project cost. For example, Victory hospital, which is located in Canada, is in the process of evaluating different options to decrease cost of its endoscope repair. This equipment is use in the endoscopy department for gastroenterological and surgical procedures. In 1993, 2,500 cases where approximately performed and extensive maintenance of the equipment where needed before and after each of those cases. Despite the appropriate care of the scope, repair requirement where still needed. The total cost of repair that year was $60,000 and the repair services where done by an original equipment manufacturers in Ontario.
Pediatric nurses do a lot of the same tasks as a regular nurse. They draw blood, check vital signs, can perform physical examinations, and order diagnostic tests. However, the job of a pediatric nurse goes beyond regular nurses. They must have a caring relationship not only with the patient they are tending to, but also the patient’s family. Parents usually prefer a pediatric nurse over a regular nurse due to the caring relationship they carry. This is well known by the nurses as the caring process. During this process the nurse must help the child and the child’s family step by step with anything they may need at the time. The pediatric nurse provides support, care, and information on how to prevent future problems. Pediatric nursing can be defined as “the practice of nursing with children, youth, and their families across the health continuum, including health promotion, illness management, and health restoration" (Barnsteiner et al). Therefore, you can see from that statement alone there is more than one job to be done by a pediatric nurse. A pediatric nurse can see anywhere from 80 to 100 children a day. They take appointments, walk-ins, and sometimes make home visits. Only when the pediatric nurse finds an abnormality will they refer and send the child t...
I appreciate that you have decided to share your personal experience within this post. Pediatric care is an entity within itself within the medical field. Ill children are extremely difficult to manage as patients and have the tendency to have a rapid change in status while patients in the hospital. Providing safe care for pediatrics during hospitalization is an area that I am not too familiar with. Working the ER I have had many pediatric patients, but the parents always remain with the patient. When peds patients are admitted, hospital protocol states that the patient must be present during the transfer of the patient to the admitting floor. So, in my experience the parent always provides the safety aspect of care in the ER, patient are expected

Being reliable, respectful, and competent working as a medical professional understanding the job, and performing it at high standards. Medical professionals
Although more than ten years can pass prior to the moment one first calls oneself a pediatrician, the hard work and dedication pays off when one saves the first life a helpless child. Throughout the long process of applying for school after school, obtaining scholarship after scholarship, and proving one’s medical skill with each and every exam, one must feel true bliss when grasping the newly received medical license in one’s hands. A career in pediatrics will allow one to save the lives of young people who haven’t yet truly lived.
Extra payments in the measure of $85.07 million were made as an aftereffect of obligation renegotiating.
Many people in this world want to make a difference in life. However, most people do not want to put in all the effort that it takes to do so. The job of a pediatrician is life-changing to many. Unfortunately, it takes drive and effort that many people do not have, to become a pediatrician. A pediatrician’s job is a highly-skilled and interesting job because he or she has the privilege to deal with and help as many children as possible.
For a healthcare professional to have an excellent and rewarding career in the field of medicine, there are certain characteristics that they need to have. As diagnosis may take a greater amount of time to develop or emerge, treatment may not be an option. In some cases the child may require a heart transplant. A young boy by the name of Joseph Gonzalez-Sales, age 10, was a child that required a heart transplant due to dilated cardiomyopathy (Kotojarvi 1). Joseph waited about 2 years to receive his procedure and finally underwent surgery to obtain his new and healthy heart on his 11th birthday (Kotojarvi 1). Other children, in not as consequential cases, can receive some form of treatment that may not require a procedure. Treatment may vary from patient to patient and is directed toward their symptoms and diagnosis (“Pediatric Cardiomyopathy” 7). Unfortunately many drug therapies and surgical
My career choice is to become a pediatrician. The question is: what makes this job so interesting or fantastic enough to be chosen? This job requires many sacrifices, skills, and strengths to endeavor the obstacles on the way to the goal. This particular job is also a very honorable and noble job in the sense of helping children with their illnesses and ailments. Personally, I love children and I’m always fascinated by their actions and interesting techniques of expressing themselves. Since I am intrigued by the children’s personality I love spending time with them (and that’s why their child-like ways rub off on me). Thus, I believe that my own childish personality and my love of children will motivate me in the near future to help them out with their medical needs. Also, being a pediatrician and helping out children has its own rewards. Not only will I be doing something I enjoy, but I will be getting paid a generous price as well. A pediatrician’s salary is not the highest one compared to surgeons or cardiologists, but it’s enough to have a life that is something more than simply satisfying. Another good aspect of this job is that they only focus on the health of children rather than all of the age groups. An adult and a child are so different they are nearly two different species. If a child is brought to a doctor who specializes in all age groups, the child would not be getting the same kind of attention that he or she would be getting, compared to that from a doctor who specializes only in children. Doctors that specialize in all age groups are used to make quick, rough, and fundamental actions need for the healing of the patient. One does not simply treat a child the same way an adult would be treated. The child would becom...
