High School
I know what I am looking forward to in high school. To me, people get to do a lot more in high school than middle school. There are many activities and clubs like FFA,basketball, football, soccer, and baseball. The thing I look forward to most are all the new things I will learn. That is what I look forward to most in high school.
One reason I look forward to high school is that there are very many more activities you can do. The activity I look to most is baseball because that is the most fun thing in the world to me. The other reason is because I could get a scholarship to play at somewhere, for someone, and to maybe make money off of something I can have fun doing.
Even if I don’t get a scholarship for a sport, I will have fun in high school. The second reason I look forward to high school is because I will learn many new things. Plus, my education level will rise throughout the years as I learn. When I get a job, my knowledge that i learned throughout the year will help me with whatever job I get. I am dreading about learning new things so much. Lastly, I will make new things if I am good at that class. The main reason I look forward to high school is my senior year. In my senior year, I will try to participate in everything that I can do at school. I mostly look forward to is graduation. The reason I look forward to graduation is because it shows I am confident enough to get through school. The last thing I look forward to in my senior year is that I will get to start my life. I will then get a job, g.f., car, and a lot of new experiences . That is the last reason I look forward to high school. So, now you know why I look forward to high school. I dread the activities in high school. I also look forward to learning many new things. The main reason I really look forward to high school is my senior year because I will get to start a new and good life.
High school is where I had gained an awareness about how what I 'm learning in school is going to benefit me in the real world. I learned an retain a variety of information because the things that I did learn I felt like you would need to know to survive in the real world. A perfect example of this is driver 's ed where I learned to drive something that I do everyday frequently. Another reason why I learned and retain so much I because when I got into high school is around the same time I got my first job. This definitely opened the door in showing me how what I 'm learning in school applies to everyday work activities such as knowing and counting money this is where math comes in. Being able to talk and communicate writing and verbally this is where English comes in. All things that I needed to do in everyday
Have you ever wondered if you will like high school? There are goods and bads about going to high school.I will name the relationships,schoolwork/homework,and clubs.
In the two articles, “High Schools Starting Later to Help Sleepy Teens” by Michelle Trudeau and “High Schools Will Keep Starting Too Early. Here’s why” by Dan Weissman. Each author uses different evidence to support his or her claim about school starting times. According to “High School Starting Later to Help Sleepy Teens”, most teenagers are not getting the proper rest at night and is causing a severe consequence to their everyday experiences. Students need sleep because it can prevent a child from falling asleep in class and helping the child focus. “students reported less depression when there was a later starting time.”
Throughout my life I have always coasted through everything that I have ever done. When it came to school you could describe me as an average student when compared to my friends, I always did the bare minimum that I needed to pass, when it came to outside of school it was the same thing when ever my mom or dad told me to do something I always to put in the least amount of effort to accomplish it and waited to the last minute to start doing it. When I read Carol Dweck’s Mindset I learned about fixed mindset and growth mindset, Dweck explained fixed mindset is when a person sets himself up for failure mentally, they always think they wont amount to anything so they just stop trying; while growth mindset is the exact opposite of a fixed mindset,
I envision high school as an essential stepping stone for everyone. The era where every individual lacks the complete confidence in defining who they are or what they want to be. The four years of high school was the moment and opportunity to seek the interests that stood out to me the most. The experiences you make and the people you associate with are a crucial part of finding yourself.
High school is a time in your life that at the time you think is the worst part in your life, but will later find out, that it is the best time in your life. Unlike my fellow senior classmates, I have come to the realization that I will miss this “shitty” place we call school. High school is a mixture of 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 year olds. Unlike elementary and middle school, in high school, all students are mixed together. To me, high school is a time in your life to figure out who you are, who your friends are, and to make memories. I love high school and will miss every minute of it next year when I am off in college, alone. O Bentworth Senior High School.
High school is a jungle. There are silent rules that can’t be broken and foreign territories with boundaries that can’t be crossed. Entering the high school battlefront is life changing for everyone, especially freshmen, and that is just the beginning of the next four years of their life.
High school is a crucial part in many people’s life. It is a time for people to grow, develop, and transition into adulthood. I am a firm believer in the idea that situations are what a person makes of them and I believe that I have created a great experience in my three years of high school. My experiences throughout sports have shaped me to become the person I am today. Throughout high school I have learned a lot about, not only myself, but also about my friends and family. I have experienced many things that I only thought happened in high school drama movies. The best years of our lives are quickly coming to an end. I’m not good with metaphors and all that figurative language stuff but I am semi-good at one thing, that is running long distance. High school is like competing in a cross-country race, shy and timid at first, but by the end people will see my true colors as I am crossing the finish line.
Oh Jr. High, you moved on from the little elementary classes and now you're in the real deal. Things will be different, you will get chromebooks, more homework and even crazier teachers (cough cough Mrs Delucia) but their are some things you should know. Things like what and what not to get involved in also known as your social life, some of the responsibilities of a Jr. Higher and some of the academic up and downs, (there are more ups than downs but still, you should know about them). New opportunities will arise such as after school sports, leads in school plays ASB (student government), yearbook editing and photography, cool electives, awesome field trips to Astrocamp, Catalina Island and, Washington D.C andit will be the first year that you do science fair. You should know how to handle all these things, and that is the exactly what this essay is for.
Analyzing literature was a completely new concept for me until my freshman year of high school. It was first introduced as commentary, and I thought it was repeating the quote in a different way; a lengthier sentence that explains the quote with personal feelings. The teacher would always advise us to think about the significance of the text we are commenting on. I have been taught that commentary is our own interpretation of the quote. Sophomore year of high school, more essays were assigned, and I got away with summarizing quotes. On good days, when coming across an amazing quote, I sprinkle a tad bit of a reflection, where I go in depth with its significance. Perhaps the teacher puts more focus into the thesis, so less weight was put onto
An anonymous author once said, "What you need to know about the past is that no matter what has happened, it has all worked together to bring you to this very moment. And this is the moment you can choose to make everything new. Right now." Over the course of my school years, it has been an exciting and shocking experience. These experiences have been an enjoyable journey from my elementary to middle school years. However, after several years the end of my middle school adventure is coming to a close. Soon my new journey will start as a freshman. Eight grade will surely be one of my most memorable years. It has been an absolute wonderful one hundred eighty days, and I will miss some of the aspects of eight grade—but certainly not all of it.
At times I am very thankful for high school because of the great friends I am getting out of it. High school has showed me that it isn’t just about learning and having good grades, it’s about having fun and showing people the real you. It is about being the person you are. Making friends and having fun with them. High school has helped me make so many great friends. And coming from a little school and not knowing anybody, I didn’t ever think I was going to make the friends that I did. And I am more than grateful for them. My friends and high school have made me the person that I am today. It has showed me that high school is filled with different kinds of people and some people just aren’t going to like you and that is okay.. Their lose is that way I look at it. It has showed me that some things just aren’t going to go the way you want them too. Things will go wrong and you’re just going to have to find a way to get over them. My friends have showed me that with the support of them behind me that I can do anything and know that they are going to be there for me and support me all the way through.
My high school experience has been a very challenging and exciting 4 years. I have learned many things that will help me in life and I feel confident that I am ready for whatever obstacle I may face. High school has defined, shaped my character, and helped me to mature into the young woman that I am
Life After High School I’ve just entered my senior year of high school. I know that this is a very important year. I have a lot of decisions to make and not much time to make them. These decisions will either make or break my life, and I want to make sure that I make them to the best of my ability, because there is no turning back. I need to make sure I definitely want to attend college.
High school has prepared me for my next step in so many ways. In the last four years my life has completely changed, for the better I would say. I have learned so much through my high school experience surviving through difficulties, work, relationships and drama. They say that high school is the best four years of your life, but I disagree. I think that the best years of your life are yet to come because with each year you progress more and learn more about yourself than you did in the past year.
